The boss battles sucked, face it. The bosses were faceless nobodies with no tactics involved to beat them except to shoot them. But keep going back to your point about the gameplay if you're still trying to mask how god awful the story was compared to previous games.

I genuinely enjoyed it.
I think the gameplay was fun, most of the complaints i see are about how it was easy to exploit bosses, just don't be a fag and purposely cheese it then.
The story was a let down and that's a pretty big deal considering thats what i enjoy the series for the most.
Still better than peace walker and rising, I'd put 4 over it though, even if 4 was more of a movie, it was at least satisfying when you completed it.
5 is unfinished and that sucks if this is truly the last mgs.

I think you're confusing gameplay and controls. Controls are how tight Snake can move, aiming, stealth and other actions. Gameplay was go here, kill/destroy this (or just fulton it), rinse and repeat with maybe one mission in between to break up the monotony.
