I've been interested lately too.
I got burnout paradise(which I played already) and dirt 3 in steam sale
trying out the more arcade like racing and the more simulation like racing.
I have a really old wheel and pedals, but have to see if they work still.

Like it or not but GTA V has excellent driving. With the map creator at your disposal the possibilities are endless. A wide range of vehicles to choose from as well.
