I recently switched to zato from bedman, i can do some basic shadow bnbs, but i am having a problem using the shadow in neutral, and with drill pressure. Is far drill puddle summon -s- a decent option? Are there ways to cover the shadow after?

You can also do the puddle summons but that is risky since the opponnent can just sit there and attack the shadow before it comes out from the puddle. Use your normals as well as the shadow to combine pressure and to prevent from the shadow dying.

Main goal from the start of the round is get a knockdown, summon a meaty drill and then send Little Eddie out to do some work. That's not really good advice.
I would never 6H against an airdash in.
The startup is just way too long and the hurtbox is too enormous. You'll get counterhit by anyone who knows what they're doing.
Even 2H is an extremely hard read second only to 6H.

Against airdashes in, the answer is an early 6P, because at least that has some invulnerability upper body.


For what that guy is describing, one of the best options is to just neutral summon. From there you have a few options.

Break the Law and wait is the safest. If they decide to come at you, Nobiru while under and use that cover to come up again.
Likewise, throw out drills for KD and punish any advances with Nobiru. That's how you wear down their patience.
The whole point of Zato is covering your bad normals with Eddie.

BTL and advancing with -P- is a more offensive option. If you tag them, or force them to block it THEN you have the option to try a 2H or 6H to catch the jump or airdash OUT.
If you have meter, you can YRC the -P- and actually start pressure.

A safer air offensive option for when they're sitting back would be a higher air dash in with Eddie diving, then Shadow Gallery and cover it with Mawaru. This is very effective unless the opponent is expecting it, and safe as long as Eddie is out.
