Enough Need for speed hate threads
Post your ricer garage
The drifting is great in it
The mountain curves are perfect in this
The AI is the biggest problem in the game acting janky as fuck all the time
Its ricer heaven though at it does look pretty with rain
>That panda Trueno
BEAT OF THE RISING SUN
BEAT OF THE RISING SUN
>modern nfs title with an online gimmick
It looks pretty but that's about it
sounds nice, looks nice, drives alright. captures some aspect of this culture.
Core game is fine. But for the price there is not enough content and online only gimmick is annoying as hell.
it handles ok but nothing Grid or Forza tier, you can tune for arcadey or not-that-arcadey
nope, it's music 2004-you thought was cool but now for a generation of people born in 2000
>2. Does it have good music like the old underground(s)?
Nigga what? Underground OST was trash. They used tracks that were 'in" back then.
Guess what, they used tracks, that are in right now in the new one. It's mostly Trap, DnB, dubstep, hip-hop and some rock
The soundtrack is here, I find it pretty good personally.
Wow, those are some hot trash opinions
for SOME reason the pc version has been delayed to "Q1 2016" which could be as late as march next year.
I'll bet you the 'superior' version will have a 30 fps lock coded in the game. It already has forced always online going for it. Basically a NFS Rivals 2. If totalbiscuit is still alive look forward to his 30 minute rant about it
I'm pretty sure some people will still like Chemical Brothers, Trentemoller, Nero or HEALTH in 5 years time.
You an search NFS ost on youtube, but it's mostly club music. It works in-game, not sure I want to listen to it outside of it..
Driving casually is comfy as hell
Enjoy the atmostphere
Races can be short but drifting in the has never been more fun with the right settings
Ost is ok could use less rap
Customization is superb except for a few of the supercars like ferraris
Tfw no one showing off their rides but me
HEY ANONS I JUST CUSTOMIZED MY FIRST MUSTANG
I made a webm especially for you guys. Tell me how shit it is
please don'tand show me yours.
This wrap editor combined with the parts customization is the utmost greatest thing i've come across in any racing game ever.
I'm curious to see what the rest of the game has to offer. I do feel a bit too old for these cutscenes though. Really have the idea that's geared towards a demographic that's at least 10 years my junior.
It's ok, so long as you don't mind cringing every couple of minutes, and having very few customization options outside of ridiculous Rocket Bunny/Liberty Walk kits and stupidly tall spoilers.
As for actual driving, It's not awful, but it's not very weighty. You can't really feel the momentum if that makes sense.
can you make your own designs like on forza?
that doesnt answer my question anon, but have another.
Well I made it myself
So i guess so?
But i never played forza how do you make that
Import a picture? Or use shapes because thats cool
>WALKER on the Poopra
Where's your WAT sticker?
Thanks anon, I kinda did my best with the layers and stuff
It looks really great. Although I was very sceptical at first, the live action/CGI car integration looks very convincing aswell.
>This wrap editor combined with the parts customization is the utmost greatest thing i've come across in any racing game ever.
Never played Forza with its hundred thousand vinyl layers, then?
Or even NFS World before it died, which had simple shit like 'being able to mirror a vinyl across the car' that this game doesn't even have?
I actually find it more fun than the game itself at this point so its worth it.
You get the most wanted GTR from getting the deluxe version
No delorean makes me sad
no and I only made the no 11 blazblue one because shes my waifu.
what game is that? isnt new nfs released next year? seriously
I thank lord gaben every day for making steam refunds a thing, you just know EA was planning on releasing the PC version broken as fuck and cackling with laughter as they walked away when they first started the project.
>It even has Ken Block and his fucking gymkhana bullshit.
Colin Mcrae is probably reolling in his grave at the DIRT games fuck me.
They knew americans didn't know anything about rallying so shoved a load of americans and buggies and other shit in
>drives round some cones
>COWABUNGA TOTALLY RADICAL DUUDE THAT WAS SOME SWEEET MOVES
hail our lord, but seriously, ea could release broken game only on origin and dont give a shit about gaben
>So is the trueno but in an arcady racer game like this its fun as hell
Except the AE86 actually had good points going for it. It's a small, lightweight, cheap (when it came out) platform with good weight distribution, FR layout, and a naturally aspirated Toyota 4-banger that will run forever and is happy revving up and down all day. It wouldn't have been such a popular platform for everything from circuit racing to rallying to drifting if it was a bad car.
Is it fast? Fuck no! Is it pretty? Matter of opinion. But it's still better than John Delorean's car of the future past.
origin gives refunds too, they have for a very long time
In Forza you start with the basic shapes and objects. Then, you can go into a layer creator, where you build up the layers, then create a sticker out of them.
People build up the pictures a few layers at a time, and keep building up until they have the whole skin.
there will be no optimizations, its release on consoles because you cant pirate on them
postin my Most Wanted racer
so has any need for speed game surpassed or even matched Most Wanted yet?
>the integra will never be in another racing game again
feels bad man
Nope. Underground 2 was superb in its own way, I'd say they're on a par with each other in their own niches, but MW2005 is still and I can only imagine always will be my favourite.
Carbon was decent but Most Wanted and Underground 2 are way better
What we'd need is a NfS with free roam, day/night cycle, gameplay from Underground 2, police chases and detailed car custimization
If he doesn't already have a console by now then theres probably no point shelling out money for one, the only games i even play on my PS4 are destiny and disgaea, all the other games on it suck.
Is the AE86 Trueno actually a good car? Why would you use it in the game?
Initial D is an underdog story. Takumi smoked everybody using his dad's stock economy car because he was a talented driver and could draft around corners at higher speeds than people with expensive riced out high performance cars.
Whats that from
Yes its a good car
Can get to around 190 mph with upgrades and takes turns like butter
Later highway races it does strugle againts cheap ass AI
Even in my bmw at full speed the ai 180sx will blast by like nothing
Takumi's car wasn't stock at all, his dad had put untold amounts of money into the suspension and engine and later on he even gets a Formula Atlantic 200hp+ silvertop engine that would normally cost more than the car itself.
>not calling him by his proper name, Mr. Brian "The Kutztown Dragon" Regular
This game specializes in that
Its the supercars you cant do much with
Yes thats the most wanted gtr
The BMW from NFS Most Wanted's cover. Its plastered everywhere and the whole game's plot is you trying to get it back from some douche called "Razor".
>This game specializes in that
Thank fucking god. I'm so tired of how the last few NFS games showed supercars down your throat.
okay the fucking servers just went down for maintenance? what the fuck?
couldn't they have done this like 12 hours earlier, you know, when the game WASN'T out yet?
may, i believe.
Might as well be dead by then.
Buy it for a console if you have one. won't be much of a difference. They look very good considering the underpoweredness of consoles and all.
Yeah I figured that.
I'm german and get to play it in 5-6 hours when I'm home from work because incredible fucked up release policies by EA.. Can you tell me how many characters are allowed on the licence plates?
Fuck that song, always gives me feels.
>Drives fully tuned Koenigsegg
>Slams a stock Corvette in to the barrier so it comes to a complete stop
>Watch minimap as he's at the barrier moving further away from me
>He's suddenly on the road doing at least 700KM/h since I'm going about 360KM/h.
>He passes me 3 seconds after his dead stop crash.
>Slows down to the same speed as I'm going.
-9999999999999999/10 game right there.
guise, should i get an xbone with forza 6?
Or should i get forza 5?
I used to own a 360 and i miss muh customization.
>Do a brake check
>He slows down behind you.
WHY THE FUCK DO DEVS THINK RUBBERBANDING AI IS GOOD DESIGN IN A RACING GAME?
No seriously it's frustrating as fuck to be half a lap ahead only to see some fucking AI speed up to 200 mph and zoom past me only to slow down just enough so I am right on his bumper. This game would be fucking 10/10 if not for the shit ass AI.
The game dynamically scales to meet your challenge. If you can't exceed that then you need to get better at defending. Need for Speed is for people who understand racing and the unpredictable nature of the sport.
oh yea? then why is tokyo drift called tokyo drift?
>the normal people brake and taking the right lines
You mean the slow people
>Thank fucking god. I'm so tired of how the last few NFS games showed supercars down your throat.
how many custom livery slots can you put on a car?
is it basically endless like forza?
I want to be able to make livery's like pic related
I bought horizon 2 for $20 a couple of days before nfs just to feed that rice itch, it was worth it m8
not to mention im actually enjoying video games again, all the time spent on pc just made me pick up on all the problems
Drifting was originally a technique used by people racing down mountains. It's faster on downhill, where it was born.
MOM'S GONNA FREAK
>never played high stakes
Go do it now, holy shit. It's so good. It's like a mix between NFS3 and Porsche Unleashed and set the groundwork for a lot of stuff (first full career mode, actual damage model, TECHNOLOGY out the ass), it's totally worth playing if Porsche Unleashed is already your favorite.
>the MW BMW
OP, you did good.
>Drifting was originally a technique used by people racing down mountains. It's faster on downhill, where it was born.
Depends on the car. Tsuchiya used it in circuit racing as well, where the strength was being able to stay in the car's powerband instead of losing power when you slowed down for a corner. It's a reasonably useful technique for cars without much torque and with big power bands, but in general on solid tarmac drifting will still be slower every time.
Of course, introduce gravel or snow or mud into the mix and drifting/weight transfer is the only way to get around a corner with ANY sort of speed.
I like to think that drifting on tarmac is one of those old techniques that only truly worked in the 80's-90's because the cars were shit.
Tho I have never been in a race so the fuck do I know
Yeah, Hometown (and its winter variant) in NFS3 which shows up again in NFS IV's PC version.
I think so, yeah.
Someone from /o/ was making Atlantica for Assetto Corsa a while back, but I think they ended up quitting, unfortunately.
Will there ever be a street racing game that can top this?
Yeah, midnight club II and III. LA is good but it has more flaws than what came before it.
Then again I beat the unpatched game and the a.i cheating was truly a thing of beauty to witness.
I like how robyn looks like a rich girl 'on a break from college' and how her car exactly matches that.
>has 1992 NSX-R
Too bad aside from the car list the rest of the game is dudebro as fuck.
But god damn, the selection is excellent. It even has mine MX-5 NA making it even harder to say no to it, but on the other hand it also has ken block shit in it which puts me away.
God Need For Speed had some amazing tracks
I namely remember just hot pursuit and hot pursuit 2 but damn
Whilst I understand the attraction of open world racing, holy shit are their tracks shit. Part of the reason I like driveclub is because it goes back to dev created tracks. Pretty decent ones at that
The selection is rather dudebro, but considering i can only have like 5 cars, i can at least choose these ones.
>wangan midnight ost when going fast
>eurobeat when drifting
The game itself isn't that great, but boy am i satisfied.
>NFS hot pursuit 2 had its own remixes
holy fuck these along with the rest of the soundtrack were god tier. Every time these came on I always blasted to the front and blew the doors of the cops.
Set to 3:20 and play this while at it
>tfw i think it looks decentish
>finally a somewhat good nfs game
>few days ago realize PC version wont release yet but only after like half a year or so
>tfw realize ill have to sell my project RS13 in real life thats been sitting for some time without even getting the chance to properly drive it
I really hope there's itasha designs in the new NFS, i want to drive cars with my waifu on them
It has really bad noticable rubberbanding AI.
The car handling is shit, literally the worst in tue series.
Cops are retarded.
Hardly any traffic.
The only thing they did right was car customization.
It's not even okay enough for me to bother finishing it during my 10 hour ea access trial.
>promised underground 3
>get carbon 2
literally the shittest of the shittest
the exact same crappy car handling
the exact same cringey characters and cutscenes
even the rubberbanding is the same
So you are telling me that someone made all those anime drawings using just basic shapes? That's some fucking dedication and they look legit just as if you uploaded them to the game for use.
How the fuck do you drift in this game?
I can't even get past the first drift race
If i put the sliders near the middle or near grip i move like a tank and if i move them near drift my car wiggles like the tires would fall off at any moment
It's the most retarded ''culture'' the car community has,and I wish stancefags would just choke on their fucked suspension and die
This one reflects realities of poorfag tuning in russia better.
Sometimes it's just random stickers and window tint
Is Carbon the last NFS game with in depth visual customization?
the game would not be able to handle it
So... Is this another succesfull shill thread?
>people enjoying arcade games instead of good sims
>playing need for speex in 2015
Yep, easily the best racing game this year despite its issues. I hope they announce a sequel with full multiplayer integration and an even larger map. It would be cool if they made the map in Japan or something.
Cars missing in action
I'm really bummed that there's no way to really set up multiplayer races. You can only do 1v1 races when you get lucky enough to run into another play on the map who also wants to race. I would've instantly bought this if there was a legitimate system to set up multiplayer races like lobbies, with like 5-8 cars in the race. I wanted to love this, but the single player alone can't carry it and the decisions to ignore legitimate multiplayer modes is baffling.
That's actually a good thing. The Veyron is a shitty car. Same can go for Aventador and upwards. The best Lamborghinis are the 90's and under era.
>mfw the miura
This game is absolute shit. If you're expecting anything like Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover, or even a half assed attempt at copying these games, it's not.
Rubberband AI will blow past you on every corner if you're ahead. Don't like drifting? Tough shit because you have to drift every corner to win and there are also lots of events that are based on drift score. The controls are garbage though so if you knew how to drift in previous NFS games or any other racing game, you'll need to re-learn. Don't worry about cops becuase you practically have to beg them to chase you.
This is the WORST NEED FOR SPEED.
All I want to know is if I can drive a Tesla Roadster.
Well either that or this:
All I can tell you is in Rivals I'd have other players getting chased by cops running into my races, in NFS2015 the only time I've seen another player is in the garage parking lot.
You have to question how this game got lower scores than Driveclub when Need for Speed addresses everything that people had problems with in Driveclub.
>Not enough customization options
>Skewed towards super cars
>Driving was too grippy
>Wasn't open world and felt like a step back for what players want from a modern arcade racer.
Need for Speed addressed all of this
>Decent customization that changed the way the car handled and looked
>A nice list of cars that you could make your own and take along with for the journey
>Driving can be tuned to be loose as fuck or somewhat grippy
>It was open world giving the player more freedom to do the events they want to do or cruise to their hearts content.
They went out of their way to appeal to the "petrolheads" by adding Car Throttle sticker to the game. (it's basically Facebook: Cars Edition). You would expect them to don't fuck up something like this.
The audience wants differently. Reviewers and racing fans can't make their minds up. They all want Burnout or Need for Speed Underground or Midnight Club and nothing is sticking. It's like racing games are becoming niche and dying out now. GT 6 sold less than Killzone Shadowfall. Ghost got 2 years to fix their shit and they end up with a worse product according to the masses. Evolution loses half their staff and are basically on DLC duty until Sony shut them down. The only people that have their shit together are Turn 10 and Playground Studios.
Can someone please explain what the fuck is going on with this game?
The premise is Underground 3. It is Underground 3 without underglows which I really don't care about. It is PT-level of photorealism. It's got customization, car roster is balanced, cheesy FMVs are back (love it or hate it), gymkhana bullshit seems optional (?), soundtrack is a highlight, numerous race modes varying from pursuits to touge.
How did this score a fucking 63? How are there NO reviews with an 80s range? It just goes from two 90s to 60s and under. What is GOING ON? Shit like always online I can see addressed when it comes to PC so I'm talking about fundamentals here.
Handling isn't too great, even with the right settings and always chaning between settings isn't great either
It's always online, there's no pause and the cops feel like they just forced them in because previous NFSs games had them
Imagine if the next Horizon had all the car customization stuff that Underground and Midnight Club offered. Microsoft can certainly afford it and it could even carry over to Motorsport just like how they share all the car licences. You'd only have to do it twice for each series and then keep adding onto it with each iteration and improving the game.
Can anyone help find this rally game I'm looking for? It was unique in the sense that you had to pass various tests in a parking lot with driving around cones and braking, but I wanna play it because I remember it had very good mountain rally.
Why the fuck my garage is all fucked up?? I just bought the game and I can't even play it correctly!
>Into the trash etc.
With that outta the way I wonder just how pretty the game will look on max settings on PC. It looks really damn pretty on consoles already. Well, in-garage it does. Car looks nearly photorealistic to me here >>315496595, but I might be called a retard for that.
Burnout stands out as nobody has truly managed to "get" what makes those games so good. Plus EA killed criterion.
Really racing games are dying because devs and publishers still think that the only way to succeed is to either beat NFS/gran turismo/forza at their own game (which isn't going to happen with the sort of budget these games have) or go full on autism simulator like what is currently what counts as PC racing.
Pubs and devs need to step the fuck back and realise that a racing game doesn't need real cars, real tracks, plot or even some attempt at tapping into car culture. All it needs to do is - at its core - have a simple vision and stick to it.
A good racing game ultimately only needs 3 things: good track design, interesting looking cars and a smooth handling model. The last point is actually the most crucial - its how burnout, ridge racer, motorstorm and even the likes of wipeout work. Each game defines a handling style and the vehicles within the game responds to that model. An example I like to think of of doing it wrong is NFS The Run - the handling model was all over the fucking place and some cars where uncontrollable while others would do 90 degree turns at 200mph.
What made Burnout good for you? Because for me it was how the cars changed shape and shit fell off them and how fun it was to ram other people into oncoming traffic or off a cliff. It had nothing to do with the racing. If I want racing I went to Midnight Club and Need for Speed. I loved the post card shit they did when you achieved a certain crash to an oponent. I loved close calls with traffic. Then Criterion went open world and the game became bland. I found the boost and sense of speed missing. I found the objectives not compelling and cookie cutter. They started this bullshit of taking away control from the player. When you totalled, it played a cutscene and you could slow it down or whatever. When they took over Need for Speed, they went even further. You totalled your car and it played a cutscene. Your car restarts position and the AI drives off and hands it off to you. Once again they take away control. Need for Speed is now plagued with it and Burnout went to shit with Paradise in my opinion. I absolutely hate Criterion and I applaud Playground Games, Evo and Turn 10 for not being shit. Let me press the restart button. Let me accelerate the car. I don't want to go around a hair pin with the AI controlling it and then handing it off to me. Stuff like that annoys me.
Tfw I had such high hopes for this game.
Literally the ae86 announced and I knew I was in for something.
Then the car list came out
>s2000 literally my favorite car of all time, the greatest piece of machinery to ever grace this earth.
I have never had such a wide selection of cars I legitly love.
Then the sour milk came.
>always online mode
I could take this, fine.
>no local split screen
Barely ever have any friends over so ok
>no custom audio
I REALLY NEEDED THIS BUT OK, I'LL JUST MUTE THE AUDIO
>no manual transmission
WHY THE FUCK
>pc release till who knows when in 2016
Please someone atleast tell me you can mute the audio PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
I am literally dying of temptation to buy this game when I get my ps4.
What stage is that song from?
I still need to buy me fourth stage from S.A.V.E >>315493465
FUTURELAND AND I BELIEEEEEEVE
THE NIGHT IS OVER, LET THE LIGHT FALL ON ME.
Fuck me, thats the last dvd I need to buy then, thanks friend.
What are you playing though?
Is it an online streamer service garbage, or can I literally just stick a usb and play shit?
>Because for me it was how the cars changed shape and shit fell off them and how fun it was to ram other people into oncoming traffic or off a cliff.
Those for me were (and remain entirely) secondary given the first game has a hair-trigger collision detection.
What makes burnout stand out is the sense of speed and the smoothness of the handling. That means doing 200mph into oncoming traffic isn't a test of if the a.i wants to fuck you, but a test of skill and reaction times. It never feels cheap, it never feels like the car doesn't turn when it should, it never feels forced. The mega drifting is just an extension of it - drifting in vidya is the only way to get a car to turn at high speeds.
FUN FACT: when building paradise criterion had a more realistic handling model and they found it quite unfun to play because cars just do not react irl like their vision for the handling, so they essentially changed it back to what was in 3 and revenge.
The main point is: if you are going to be an arcade racer fucking do it, don't try and add some sort of simcade bullshit to your handling physics to try and claim skill. If you racing game is about 200mph drags through streets do it (and this is what midnight club does fantastically). If its about tuning your car for drifting thats fine, have it at sensible speeds where the tuning is going to matter. If its about trying to recreate actual driving thats fine, just don't set your fucking game in paris or the moon.
this desu senpai
>mfw this will be the s2000 I'll be making.
