I started playing the first Fatal Frame today.
The dub is hilariously stiff. But I'm loving it. Control Type B is the best, especially since the down button is an immediate 180º directional change. Also I'm pretty terrible to get those fast ghosts.

Last night I booted up Silent Hill 2 on my emulator and looked away for a bit, not wearing my headphones. When I looked back, the title screen had changed to some woman talking and was covered in 1s and 0s. I about flipped shit and hit ESC to close the emulator. Later I would find that that wasn't supposed to scare me and the 1s and 0s were a bug in the emulator that could only be resolved by running in software mode.

Tl;dr, make things happen Psycho Mantis style, where the game seems to be buggy or have glitches that are actually part of the game. A false blue screen would be particularly powerful.

So I'm playing Resident Evil for the first time - the remake of the remake, I guess - and I really don't understand why I'm so scared. It's relatively easy to just walk around zombies, and even the fast fuckers can mostly be avoided, and failing that I've got a shotgun with a ton of ammo. Highly, very much recommended.
Someone will always say shit like "SH2 has nuffing to do with the rest of them!", which just means they don't have a clue about the series plot and lore.

I'd say that SH2 feels much more like an expansion to SH1, and thus "works" and feels better after finishing the original. I've seen plenty of people get bored of the #2's beginning, which I can as an old fan understand; SH1 would sort of give more "context" to the sequel, allowing you to anticipate shit to hit the fan any moment, and thus makes it easier to sit through the less impressive scenes at the start.

All in all, SH1 offers the superior introduction to the series.
Unless you're a heavy graphics-whore who can't deal with PS1 visuals.
