This is a shitposting thread, but I'll reply seriously anyway.

The camera gets stuck inside parts of the map far too often, this wasn't a problem in previous games, so it's very jarring.

Hitboxes seem much bigger than they should be.

Loading times seem longer than previous games, but it mostly feels that way because there's no item descriptions to read to pass the time.

Framerate shits itself occasionally, mostly when going through fog doors.

That's about it, other than those few problems it's GOTY.

My only major complaint besides technical issues like loading or frame rate (which honestly, besides Old Yahrnam doesn't bother me that much, it stays pretty close to 30 most of the time with an occasional hiccup), you really start to feel the pain of limited resources. Blood vials were an interesting idea, but my god sometimes I just want Estus back. What really kills it for me is that if you're doing a boss fight where you get hit often and heal often, you essentially have a limited number of attempts at the boss fight. It's kinda the same for the bullets, but I can understand bullets being limited.

Nothing kills my enjoyment faster than dying to a boss only to respawn at the lantern with so few vials that an attempt on the boss would just be a waste, so I have to stop fighting the boss and go farm for a bit. If it weren't for that one thing, I really wouldn't have any major complaints with the game.

Artificial difficulty that surpasses even the worst moments of Souls games. Literally everything can stunlock you and kill you in a single combo. A lot of deaths feel unfair rather than you feeling as if you lacked skill.

It honestly isn't that long. There's only a handful of bosses, and most of them have pretty easy mechanics.

This is just a personal gripe, but to me it feels like there's a big lack of environment variety. Everything feels so.. same-y.

This entire thing can be avoided by moving and dodging. It just sounds like you aren't that good at the game. Artificial difficulty is a buzzword and does not belong in the same sentence as BB. At no point did the game feel like it was fucking me over with super health enemies or one hits I didn't deserve.

Bloodborne is the best example of difficulty without making it feel forced, just like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls(the latter to some extend since it had it's share of shit).

The game is so similar to Dark Souls that the last 1/3 is boring just like it, but has an amazing and hype as fuck final boss. Bloodborne is Dark Souls 1 pretty much without it's flaws.

That image kind of sums up what I hate about Bloodborne's visuals. It definitely looks better than the previous games, but this particular scene is an ugly, blurry mess. Gameplay doesn't look quite as bad, but the edges all lack definition and have this weird color transition...it looks like bad image compression than any particular effect.

Its way more polished and consistent than any other souls game.
The gameplay is perfect, the level design is the best in any souls game, the lore and setting are excellent.

Some cons:
-PVP is well balanced but almost non-existent. Invasions are gone (now you can only invade people who are willing to be invaded) and there is only one arena. A shame
-While the game is carefully (almost maniacally) detailed the performances will still be mediocre due to the weak fps.
-There aren't that many weapons. It wont bother you that much since they're all extremely diverse. They should have added reskins and stuff, just for the sake of exploration
-The game is shorter than Dark Souls 1 and it lacks of replayability. It's still a pretty long game (it will take you up to 40 hours of youre really good at the game, a second playthrough without exploration could take up to 10 hours maybe). Chalice Dungeons helps but non that much. Thats obviously due to the lack of a decent pvp infrastructure.

It's still a god tier game and it can be easily the best souls game ever released.

If you're having issues with Vials during bosses, try this:
1, don't heal when facing the boss the first one or two times. I don't use a vial until I can survive to past 50% HP

2, by the time you've died a couple times to a boss, you're probably a pro at their level. Kill off a ton of enemies and head back to the dream and drop that shit on some vials.

It's easier to buy them than farm them, killing the pigs and drowned villagers going from the Shadows of Yharnam boss lamp to the middle of the Forest is a good way to do both, 2-4 vials per pig, chances at 1 vial per villager, and loadsaechos too. Ring your bell if you're in the range of the boss too. I did that and after 4 boss kills I had enough echos to max my vials and have 20k left over.

Pathetic amount of weapons and armors means there are no rewards for exploring besides consumables

Game itself has about 1/10 of the content and depth of a real souls game which makes it a shovelware throaway title instead of a cult classic.

Blade of Mercy, while not having much range, has been more than enough to get me through most anything. When I start attacking and put the enemy through the blender, it's sort of over.

Only issue is attacking groups only works out well by taking off the target lock on. But that's what the Rifle Spear is for.

If you can get the stagger the Blade of Mercy is a blender, but you won't be knocking most enemies out of their attacks.

When I used it, I found it best to dodge inside enemy reach and use the dodge attack and then go to town.

Sadly I felt BoM wasn't for me, even after spending most of the start of the game wondering when I would get it. I found the Reiterpallasch first, and like every other souls game, I fell in love with the rapier.

You can focus on strength, skill, bloodtinge, and arcane, each stat has different weapons that are best for it, along with weapons that work well for quality builds between them.

They needed a better way of explaining how co-op and invasions work, not pointing you to the insight messengers is a mistake. Most PVP actually revolves around flow and healing, and doing your best to keep up the attack and push that advantage.

A change of tactics is best here, part of the game is managing your resources, you're complaining that you need to manage your resources.

I don't find most of the NPC's overly engaging, but I love the setting, and the story of how things went to pot has been interesting to find and discuss in the threads. As for the CGI, they've got the two trailer ones for leaving the opening menu on.

There's fifteen trick weapons in the game, each (mostly) with it's own style and feel, using the Reiterpallasch is totally different from using the Blade of Mercy, for example. I found it best to think of each trick weapon as a weapon class, they simply did away with you having to get the new sword with the better numbers.

You don't really have an example of how a boss is unfair, so I'm going to ignore that point until you present something for it. As for playstyle you generally have to be a dodgy mother fucker yes, but certain weapons can use other mechanics to alter that. For example, a prime way of using the Kirkhammer or Hunter Axe is to charge up their transformed R2. The attacks have hyper armor on start up, meaning even if you eat a hit, you'll still attack. The attacks deal so much damage that you'll heal yourself of all the damage you took in the hit with the Rally mechanic. With heavier weapons you can become a counter hit machine. This is not a souls game, you are punished for not being aggressive. Play like you've got a pair.

It has I think three fewer bosses than the other games, takes about the same amount of time to complete, even with speed run glitches like fence jumping. The biggest thing that I've seen taken away is how Covenants work, this time around they feel very barebones, with no one to tell you how they work, you're basically left on your own for how you want to work within them.
