Microsoft is aware that they cannot compete against services like Steam. Third parties would refuse to move from things like Steam, because they'd be exposed to a smaller player base.

Let's be realistic. Microsoft consoles never sold because of exclusives outside of Halo. The primary Xbox audience has two types of people:

Why? If you got an xbone most of the time you can't afford a good pc. So the xbone was the best choice either way. The sub fee is there but I have not seen one shred of evidence that ANY of the xbones top tier games will be going to pc. Yes they were giving people the shaft with 8 being tablet centered and going all out with surface.
