Story is just as important as gameplay.

However, a more important factor than story, which I believe a lot of people tend to overlook, is Characterization. Well-made, reasonable characters with adequate development can make up for a bad story to a certain degree. Whenever possible, I'll cheat to get infinite mana or whatever the game calls it. I can handle dying since it gives a sense of danger, but I like feeling like a hero, and the hero never actually runs out of energy. They find the last bit they need deep inside them right at the last moment.

I have done Cyberathlete Professional ladders in CSS, am LE in CS GO, and have done (and won) a handful of tournaments for Command and Conquer and Unreal Tournament.

This is, again, only because I'm a masochist who repeated the same mistakes enough times to finally learn better. In truth, I do the DUMBEST fucking shit when I play video games, and it embarrasses me to play games I'm unfamiliar with with other people.

I feel like analog sticks haven't quite reached the level of sensitivity and fluidity in movement to be used for manual aiming. It could work, but all the currently released controllers with analog sticks are too clunky and have a huge dead zone.

I play Minecraft all the time. In Creative. On PS3. And I've purchased a texture pack for it.

Most of my favorite games are Japan-exclusive, like Live A Live, Clock Tower, Getsu Fuuma Den, and Kamen Rider Battride War II.

Bought half life 2 physical limited edition that came with a tshirt. First copy I bought on Saturday came without the cdkey so I had to wait until Monday to get it changed. Then there was Steam and I was still at 56k, it was a nightmare to get to play my offline campaign. Started the game and at some point I upgraded my pc because the game ran like shit. Got far, until the place where they have everyone in pods. Something happened to my computer and I didn't finish the game. Forgot my steam password, something happened I couldn't smoothly restore it so I thought I'd pirate the game I bought. Eventually moved to linux and didn't play a lot of pc games. I wore the tshirt a lot but I lost it.
One year ago decided to give it a try and could restore my Steam password. I was awarded with a "9 years of service" badge. Had drivers problems and didn't play. At some point I fixed the problems with the drivers and the game runs in a way I could only dream of in 2004. Now I find I can't really be arsed to play the game.

Terrible optimization. Draw distances can be over 100 miles at times. Real time calculation of thousands of other planes flight dynamics if you have air traffic turned on high etc etc.

It's a game that destroys CPU's if you turn things up as high as they can go. It doesn't really tax GPU's until you start to add in high definition textures then you need to make sure you have enough vram.

I think Bioshock Infinite's combat and level design is very underrated.

I've never gone past NG+ in any of the Souls games. I'll play through to the end of NG+ but never advance to the next cycle, either focusing on PvP with the character or just forgetting/deleting it. The +% "difficulty" doesn't do anything for me and I've already experienced the black phantoms in NG+ so I see no reason to reset the progress a second time.

I haven't played a video game in a long time, between school and running a huge DnD game as DM. I usually come home and watch some TV and then go to bed. It sucks because I miss playing video games and getting mad at them. The most I do is play a few rounds of SSB for my Wiiu.

I unironically find video games fun.

I am such a dam casual, I have only beat 5 games in my life plus I have never played a metal gear,final fantasy, or halo game.

I've beaten plenty of games, but I've never played Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, or Halo. I get my sci-fi shooter fix from Crysis 2, my stealth fix from Arkham Asylum/City, and my JRPG fix from nowhere because I don't play any JRPGs.

I preordered Mass Effect 3 the very day it was announced, finished it in like 3 days playing it 8+ hours a day, got so shocked by the ending I didn't touch any of the ME games for over a year and yet... I bought every DLC the day they came out.

I spent over 150€ on a slightly disappointing game.

I rarely beat games as a kid, I would play through parts but have my best buddy at the time take care of bosses and such.

I always called myself a big MGS fan, but I played the series completely out of order and got into it late. I did MGS3->MGS1->MGS4->MGS2 and couldn't even bring myself to beat PW.

I unironically love Halo. Some of my best vidya memories were going to LAN parties in 8th/9th grade playing Halo 2 with buddys all night and doing custom shit on Halo 3 online most nights a few years later.

I was hyped as hell for Halo 4 because my several team members from Retro Studios, my favorite developer, were hired by 343. I don't know what the hell went wrong but I think I played maybe two hours of that game before giving up.

I only owned a GameCube during the 6th gen, so I missed out on pretty much every non-Nintendo game that gen. As good as the GCN was I'll always regret it.

Despite popular opinion I think a lot of N64 games have aged quite well, if nothing else they have a bit of a charm to them that later generations lacked.

Golden Sun was one of the best RPGs of that generation.

Final Fantasy X was my first and Last Final Fantasy. I always though it was a great game even if I never beat it.

I've never actually beat a Genesis game, or any arcade style game, without save states. I just need my fucking save points.

Also, the oldest generation of games I can play and still legitimately enjoy is the SNES/Genesis one. I recognize what the NES did for the industry but I could never play anything other then Tetris for more than 10 minutes. I guess I was just spoiled with the N64 being my first console.
