All videos have made it seem this game is going to be leagues ahead of Hyryule Warriors. Not only that, its being directly overseen by Yuji Horii. Which has proven to work for every previous spin off game. Hell, he helped make Dragon Quest Swords a decent game. And that was made by fucking Genius Sonority. One of the worst studios in Japan.

DQHeroes is going to basically be a huge nostalgia trip. With specific levels focused on each main game and a quest mode. Not to mention all the past characters appearing in this game.

All the DQ games are good. I'm not just saying that as a DQ fag, but because its one of the few series which has kept itself strong for every game. Mostly because the same core team has worked on every game for the last 30 years.

Dragon Quest IX is not a good game to start off with though. Since its basically a homage to all the games that came before. General consensus is you should start with Dragon Quest V or VIII first. Then go back and play all the rest of the games in release order. Or just play the games in release order to start with if you like older RPGs.

And Square also has a stupid way of measuring games. Dragon Quest IX was ignored when it sold 1.5 million outside Japan. Chrono Trigger DS was ignored for selling 800k outside Japan. Yet they went crazy over Bravely Default selling 650k outside Japan.... Clearly when a game even sells twice as much as a FF spin off, its still not good enough. Which means this DQ Musou game is gonna have to sell like 2 million outside Japan just to get noticed by management. Which obviously isn't gonna happen.
