Oh fuck, you triggered my PTSD
>if you picked the wrong class and didnt properly level up enough to not get 2 shot no matter what you do, and you make 1 save file and you saved between fights during the castle siege you have to start the whole game over :^)
yeah, its a shit game.
Why is Wiegraf the most famous one, when that bullshit fight on the roof where you have to save that one chick isn't? If you have only one save file and you enter that fight without enough speed, you lose immediately, and there's no going back to the map screen.
Complain about Eridanus all you want. But this when the game truly starts to test your patience.
1v1 fights in general were bullshit in FFT. I appreciate the added challenge, but during your first playthrough you have no way of knowing that you'll need certain support abilities or classes just to make it out of some bullshit encounters.
At least the Gafgarion fights had ways of having the party support Ramza. Wiegraf's fight is all kinds of bullshit if it's your first time and didn't have a guide
To be fair, this fight is pretty stupid.
Or perhaps I'm casual scum
Playing it on my phone right now.
Fucking delightful game, if only for the random enemy encounters
>high level party
>random encounter on the road map
>about 20 level 60 monks, mana free 1 turn revives, across the map punches, mana free healing
Hardest battle I ever fought
This fight made me start all over the first time. However, he was easy to beat as a mage. One hit with flare ends the fight. Then, I have to fight that stupid demon. However, once you get orlandu the game is over because he is almost invincible.
I had to restart my game the first time I got there. It's what taught me my current saving system. A safe save, a semi-safe save, and a recent save. It's served me very well, especially with modded games that crash a lot.
This guy basically caught people the WoW sieve didn't catch.
Frank didn't have shit on this. fuck those exploding trees
Which is a shame because cloud's animations were a lot cooler I thought. Fuck that 30 turn charge bullshit though. Also eventually your entire party is just special npcs and none of the dudes you worked to level up ;_;
Because Wiegraf came first. If you were able to handle his fight, chances are you would be able to save Rafa on the roof in the very next fight.
>Have to save the 2 most worthless characters in the game, Rafa and Malak
>Assassin starts first
>Uses her 100% BS instakill skill on one of them
>You lose before you can even get to move
I sent my Ninja(first turn, he was the fastest) behind one of the assassin sisters, and attacked her with dual wield, since you only needed to bring one of the enemies to critical health in order to finish that battle, I did it in the very first turn.
I could never beat this without cheesing it. I don't even remember what I did, it was some dumb shit like equipping a Lobber and alternating between throwing shit at Vyce and running away.
I think thats what I did... I vaguely remember basically kiting the dude.
Other than maybe just leveling up like crazy I have no idea how you're 'supposed' to beat him without cheesing a run away / ranged strategy
>playin first time through nocturn
>friend warns me about super retarded-tough boss
>tells me it will fuck me over
>o really fool?
>spend 4 hours griding and fusing
>still get fucking wrecked.
After I beat him I steamrolled the entire game to beelzebub true form, then died cause I didn't have a death resistant magatama equipped.
Then my ps2 got stolen.
I would emulate the game but I don't wanna play another 70+ hours to get where I was.
I had dante and everything. Shit hurt.
and it ends up making you overleveled as fuck by the end of the fight and your entire party is way under your level compared to you and impossible to last any encounter after that fight because all encouters scale to your main character's level
its just a badly designed encounter and subversive to the entire design of the game which is party based combat, fighting a boss solo when no encounter up to that point required solo is just bad design
Level 5-7 is more than enough for frank if you have a few hamburgers and are liberal with your lifeup. I only needed PSI rockin for Titanic ant. Rockin comes at level 10 which is way overleveled
did you have the best defense equipment?
And then you learn how to break the game.
both my memory cards
Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3
The only games that didn't get stolen where my shameful shameful weeb games I imported.
I didn't even get to finish Okami. You know what fuck it I'm gonna go emulate Okami.
How do you get this far in the game without having this setup? My 10 year old self flew past this fight. Now those high level random encounter rainbow chocobo fights those were bullshit.
>holy shit finally a map where I have the height advantage for once
>wow these guys are a fucking piece of cake
>cool cutscene mang but I don't want to kill the villag-
>come the fuck on man no
>First time playthrough
>Use what you generally find cool or use a 'balanced' and focused party
You're not going to know that a teleporting wizard with draw out is a destroyer of worlds your first time.
( If I remember correctly ) The frank tank takes a turn to charge up steam then attacks which takes 2 turns. You can attack as often as you can and just heal when it's needed. Same with regular frank
Nobody played that game far enough to bitch about the toguro fight. Two combos to kill you and you do piss all for damage. I've played through the game four or five times out of sheer masochism and I still get stuck at this fight for quite awhile.
Holy fuck, I hope you're being serious.
Good point. It wasn't super popular I don't think. But yeah, not to mention he goes to 120% and gets his health restored. Wish I could say I ever won.
even if you try to run away, he'll fucking run after you and kill you in 2 hits no matter the difficulty at Hu Lao gate, what's funny is that in the Free stage where you play for Dong Zhuo side and have to find where Diaochan is , he's easy as fuck in that stage
My first playthough I had denam become a wizard and I had to restart because of the vyce fight, I'm pretty sure it's impossible with that class
I restarted, went Ninja, and then found a way to do it legit
Same thing as OP, similar game in which It's a 1v1 between you and your opponent
If you pick the wrong class the fight is pretty much impossible and your opponent will seriously fuck you up
I'm sure you will never have a reason to go back and play but all the same. Since he never does a throw move or a guard breaker the only reliable way to beat him is just to lose about ten times and memorize the 5 or 6 combo strings he does. Once you know how many times they hit you can poke at him during his very short recovery. It takes fucking forever but doable. Spirit techniques always seemed worthless on yusuke and I never bothered with them.
Don't get me started on the sequel.
The first boss in hard mode is OP as fuck.
>Spank the faggot's ass using monk
>get nuked to death
Fucking first time battles
Now Barius Valley with red and black chocobo is a casual filter
People complain about him being too easy but he is a fucking nightmare if you can't/won't parry
I'm shit at parrying so he's the only boss in the souls series I haven't solo'd yet.
