What was your most terrifying Video Game experience?
The first time I was invaded in Dark souls.
The tension of "Oh shit he's coming for my butt" moments in videogames is my kryptonite.
Any game that has Nemesis type enemies that fallow you around the game, all o my nope.
I never even finished genma onimusha because of the fucking creepy doll.
literally everything in Afraid Of Monsters: Director's Cut
>7 years old
>Little bonus room
Didn't expect it. Scared me for a month.
I've posted this a few times now but fuck it.
I still maintain older graphics and audio are scarier than newer stuff.
>this fucking game
>building made of organic matter and cursed by a crazy mage
>weird buzzing flying creatures and dinosaur looking motherfuckers lurking behind walls
>pitch fucking black
>GIANT MOUTHS IN THE FLOOR
>creepy ambient soundtrack with heavy breathing sounds and odd sounds
>the last part of the dungeon has you walk through this weird pulsating mushroom room and finding the old head of the guild who ran it, whose conciousness is now encased in an immortal crystal structure and wants you to bring it a music crystal so it can remember what it sounds like
Should I dump? Got some stories.
i once had a spooktacular experience! i was playing le video game in le room when sudanly a monster appeared in the videogame and sayd "YOU ARE THE BLOOD MOON REDS!!!" andi was like "holy fuck!1111!
>then the next thing i new i was fighting monster in real life and i grabbed my pokemon and i threw it and pikachu appeared and but he was blood red eyes and ULTRA REALISTIC GORE and then he fighted with THUNDER BLASTER and did 10000 damage and monster died and then i returned the majoras mask kartrige back to the store.
These guys scared the hell out of me when I was young, mostly because they had cloaking devices. I blame the movie alien.
Also, what the fuck 4chan?
The basement (the regular one not the
secret room with the kid) in Scratches is probably the only place in vidya where I've really wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Nothing even happens if I remember correctly. 10/10 sound design.
I was too distracted by vegetables to post the actual picture.
Horror games have never really bothered me. Honestly one of the most unsettling things I've encountered in all my years of vidya was from playing The Ooze on the genesis. Pic related. If I got a game over I would shut the game off immediately and just stop playing it for a while. It looks silly to me now but back then it was nightmare fuel to me.
Playing Resident Evil 2, when you're on the train elevator, you come out of the train all nervous, it's quiet aside from the rumbling of machinery. Then BAM! Billy Birkin whips a fucking pipe at your head.
Not really the scariest per say, but I don't think I have jumped out of my skin so intensely in my whole life.
I was like 10 though.
Sorry guys, forgot the thread for a moment. Most of this is from /k/
Hm, I don't rally know. Not that I've never been scared in a game, definitely have cause I'm a giant puss, but I can't think of one huge scare. I guess I remember an "oh fuuuuuuck" moment in BioShock 2 when the game just ominously is like "Big Sister is coming, u fuck"
I guess the jump scares in Infinite were ok too even though I think jump scares are gay
the Benjamin Franklin head in the wheelchair made me stop playing the game for the day
Call me a faggot but the flood reveal in Halo.
I had no idea it was a thing and I didn't even want the game, I was only playing it because it was one of the few games I had and I didn't want to be a prick and waste my parent's money.
That fucking cutscene and tone change, suddenly fighting a totally different kind of enemy in dark, empty halls. The music set the atmosphere really well, too.
There was this story from a biography on Charlie Chaplin where he was staying at some home and the owners were fans of his so they decided to show him something, they took him to the attic and pulled some limbless from underneath a bed and started playing music to make the child squirm like it was dancing and when they were done with it they just slid the child back under the bed.
It was actually really short, but really intense.
I was lying in a bed in some location that was not my room. There was a television in front of me that turned on after a few seconds. On it was that video that channels would play when the world is ending, the one with the military band playing music. Then suddenly very close to me I heard this terrifying scream. A scream I can only describe as sounding like it wanted to devour my soul. I quickly woke myself up. Probably the scariest part came then. I was still in shock from that scream, but when I closed my eyes I saw a bunch of creepy looking eyes staring at me. It's like how an image gets imprinted when you look at light for a while and then close your eyes. I had never had this happen to from a dream so that was really freaky. It took several minutes to completely wear off.
It doesn't sound bad but fuck, that scream was the worst thing I have ever heard.
Sometimes I just gave them the key to leve me alone, take a breath and do it again with success.
Also, when Pyramid Head chases you in the hallway to the elevator. The fucking tank controls made it horrifying and just being chased by Pyramid Head of all things made me shit my pants.
You're spooking me anon. I woke up to an ear-piercing alien-like scream a week ago too. It was so real I immediately looked out the window thinking some animal was right outside.
Fuck dude, My friend sent me a few vidya related horror stories. They all start out kind of unsettling and then it's like SUDDENLY THE GAME SAID MY NAME AND ON THE SCREEN IT FLASHED A PICTURE OF ME DEAD IN A POOL OF BLOOD
like what the fuck
>yfw discovering the hidden .jpgs in Mario 64
Yeah. I have. The section(s) where you have no weapons, nope. Also there was an Xbox game called Breakdown where the facility you are in gets invaded by these ultra strong mutant dudes and you have to play tag with them and open up a door that has a submarine style ..wheel.. lock.. thing. And then you gotta run into an elevator, being chased by 3 and jump into the maintenance access in the ceiling.
It was in Clive Barkers Undying. You get this power that lets you see things hidden or like the true nature of things.
So for example there's a picture of a father and his daughter, i use the power and the picture changes, i see the Daughter, that now looks like a monster chopping his father head off.
I come out of the vision power and i hear a slow breathing in my right headphone, and I KNOW , i know shes there. I turned slowly to the right and like an inch in full scream i see the daughter in monster shape looking at me.
I dont now what happen next because i turned the PC of straight from the power button and run to my garden. (i was like 14)
The strange thing is i then comeback reloaded looked at the picture again (now weapons prepared) but nothing happened, she did not showed up.
Later i learn the game was kind of random, way ahead of its time.
Or Siren games. Especially the first one.
>think i get something like this
When I try to take a nap while I'm really tired, I'll close my eyes, and then two things happen at once:
1. My vision fills with black and white right angles, all arranged to form the shape of a cross
2. I hear a tremendous buzzing noise for a fraction of a second
This always startles the shit out of me and causes me to jump a little.
Going in the basement in the old Toy Story game.
Maybe not the most terrifying, but this game got really messed up at certain parts.
I still trying to understand what the fuck he said
It's still spooky
Could be a form of sleep paralysis. I started to get it last year. I open my eyes and I guess I'm on the edge of sleep, so I start to hallucinate but I can't really move. First time it was nothing, I saw a few hundred black moths fly out of my monitor (this was in the morning, sun had come up). Next few times it was some woman laying to the right of me staring at me but I was on the very edge of the right side of my bed.
Then it was hands reaching for me from the ceiling. Last two times was when I was dogsitting at my dads place, I opened my eyes and saw an old man standing at the door inside the room (door was closed). Just standing there. Next night I opened my eyes and it was the same man but he was hanging from his neck in the doorway, feet just useless on the floor. I try not to open my eyes anymore at night.
When I was like 5 or something I would always watch my cousins play Super Mario World, I remember getting completely fucking terrified of the thing that carries Bowser, after you hit it two times it goes into the background but comes back, i mean you all played this game so you know exactly what I mean. Anyway, after the fucker comes back at full force on the screen... that little moment... plus the wuwuwuwu sound it made.
I fucking cried, I was fucking terrified. What's worse its that my cousins would pause it in that moment and they would be all "It's gone bro, you can watch the screen now."
it wasnt gone
Another thing that gave me fucking nightmares was when they would play Mortal Kombat on the SNES, I don't remember which one but there was a forest stage or something and there were some trees opening their mouth and going all "bahhhhhh". Creepiest shit ever, I haven't seen it since that time (around 6 years old) and I hope I never do, though now that I'm way older it intrigues me. Also on that same stage I think there was a fucking ninja popping out of the grass or something... that also scared the fucking shit out of me.
Also in street fighter when Dhalsim would win and he did this dance while staring at you shaking his head. I hated it and would cry too.
I think it happened to me once. I got startled awake by something LOUD while asleep in my dorm. Woke up heart racing, it had sounded like a shelf or something fell. My roommate didn't wake up so I guess it was in my head.
Sleeping shit is so weird. My friend says he gets sleep paralysis and has all the weird symptoms other people describe too; not being able to move, hearing demons. Otherwise he's a normal guy. Anyways anon maybe you need an exorcism
You sound like a little baby person, anon. However the Bowser laugh in Super Mario 64 scared the shit out of me (specifically the one where you first walk into the castle at the beginning), I was about 6 at the time too. So I can't shit on you too much.
Reptile's fatality in MK4 that turned the enemy into bone and flesh haunted me for days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s26fqiidGuw
You are just like me... having overreactions of fear and anxiety towards stupid shit, we are condemned to a life of fear and misery.
At least video games exist.
>A scream I can only describe as sounding like it wanted to devour my soul.
and why did your brother have to drink them?
Are there any videogames as scary as the Mcdonald's Building?
I was like 4 years old and this motherfucker gave me nightmares
>tfw short auditory hallucinations or something when falling asleep a few times a week
It's usually a short phrase (1-3 words).
I know it's not real because it simply voices my thoughts as a person I'm thinking about (not consciously, but as a part of random thoughts that pass me by). Plus, I just "know" it's not real.
I had dream paralysis only once. I couldn't move, yadda yadda, but didn't see anything out of normal. But I started hearing a distant hum, some sort of machinery, which became louder and louder. I thought "fuck it" and somehow forced myself to hear some music instead.
That reminds me of this old Knytt Stories custom level where there's this giant machine drilling a hole that takes you down into the mouth of this spoopy underground monster. I don't remember what it was called but the atmosphere was brilliant. The machine made this deep, really loud noise that just got louder and louder as you approached it. Made my skin crawl as a kid.
To be fair I wrote that back in 2009 when I was 17 and saved it in notepad because it would never get replies, I just post it from time to time again to see if someone else can identify with my feels.
Here, relax with this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrmyov8O414
Honest to God, I had a nightmare about Dark Souls
>be in a room like the sleeping chambers in Anor Londo, dimly lit and that creepy medieval-esque architecture
>be equipped with something shitty like the broken sword from the start of the game
>enemies are few and far between but they are Amnesia-like
>hiding from traps and from enemies
Holy shit, I was spooped.
I'm a baby and can't handle horror games, the scariest I've played was Half Life.
I was slowly inching my way through Ravenholm, and for a moment I thought "Well at least the zombies are slow, they're not that hard to deal with" and then this thing showed up and I stopped playing for a few days.
Every time I try to take a nap when stressed out, I hear the sound of a bunch of sand being poured and it sounds like it's located directly inside my ears. Always happens since I was 15, have no idea what it means.
Exactly what I was going to post. Sh4 had some pretty disturbing looking enemies.
>mfw my nightmares are eldritch horrors related
>the best nightmares are the ones only with one thing/tall man
>the worst including endless hallways, gore covered rooms, and rooms with endless cielings.
>not to mention the eldritch horrors that i see in them
>mfw people ask me to tell them about my nightmares
Those were pretty creepy at the time. I remember frantically trying to get into a building and barricade the door with random objects before they got in. I wish I could play HL2 for the first time again.
This post, holy shit. Where do I even begin asking questions.
>like four bottles of water sprites
>Get to the hospital
>Encounter one of those things
>Get creeped out
And not even some twisted belch or weird animalistic thing. Just an almost cartoon-esque burp.
The sound design in SH4 is fucking awful. The dogs make public domain leopard sounds, the patients burp at you, and the monkey things make public domain chimp sounds.
>Alma appears in one of her jump scares on screen
>in that same second power goes out
>i am alone in the house (14)
Literally ran to my bed and hid under my sheets.
This cracked me the fuck up, haven't seen it before.
It's fucking ridiculous. I stopped just a couple hours ago after getting through the hospital and man, it's hard not to just laugh at it.
I mean the last enemy I faced before I stopped for the day were haunted wheelchairs who would ram into me, spin around in a circle, the rush back down the hallway. And it was a fucking pack of them, there was like six or seven going up and down the hallway.
I really don't get how they thought this stuff was scary. SH4 has a couple of creepy enemies, but the rest just make me laugh.
I don't know if this is sleep paralysis or what but sometimes when falling asleep I get this weird feeling I dunno how to describe it, like a vibrating metal sound in my ear like something would vibrate really really fast and when it happens I'm aware of it and I begin to see shadows even with my eyes closed and I can't really move, last time it happened I got the sound thing and I began to see white and black shadows that began to form scary but thankfully not too detailed faces. Then they went away and "woke up".
>dream every night and remember most dreams
>have decent control inside dreams
>can't have nightmares about scary things for some reason
>most dreams consists of perverted fantasies
>always wake up before getting to the good part
I love how Ravenholm keeps escalating.
>Spoopy Religious Rambo
>Endlessly respawning Zombies.
>Holdout in a dead end until elevator is here.
Then you're rewarded with a badass last stand.
>Become big bad vampire
>Ghosts, demons, vamps, and werewolves all become commonplace
>"I AIN'T AFRAID OF NUTTIN'"
>I can lift cars, slow down time, and kill anything
>One of the first missions I need to do is go get some amulet from an abandoned hotel
>"lol what could go wrong"
Everything was wrong
Holy shit, I didn't sign up for this
Also, that fucking Mueseum
>On tour with Alyx
>Havin fun, she's havin fun
>"Oh..and that's Ravenholm."
>Her face loses it's happiness and instantly gets solemn and sad
>"..We don't go there anymore"
>Thank god I don't have to go there
>My face later
>trying to practice lucid dreaming using WILD
>after around 30 minutes start hearing strange shit and see flickering in my vision
>always get too exited and snap out of it
They should make more vidya centered around dreams.
Sleepy paralysis is what happens when your body is asleep but your mind is awake, it's also a gateway to Lucid dreaming and like >>282319907 mentioned it does occur more often when you're sleeping on your back.
Drinking apple juice and sleeping on your back almost guarantees this will happen.
Just for the love of god, don't think of anything scary. Think happy thoughts, or even about sex. Just don't have a nightmare, You cannot imagine the horror I felt when I started thinking of Babadook during my last sleepy paralysis, holy shit that voice
>he's a pain in the ass
>he finally sucks me up
>that brown warped sky and dark brown land
>all of a sudden see a few giant tarantula shadows come toward me
>nope the fuck out
>never try to beat nightmare again
That part in Half Life 2, Highway 17 where you enter a tunnel and come across a roadblock inside, full of fast zombies and shit.
You're more than prepared to dispatch them on foot, let alone back up and run them over with your car, yet I used to freak the fuck out and power push through the wreckages with my car, shitting my pants every time.
my brother and i got freaked the fuck out by the giant skeleton boss and we got our mom to return the game and get us something else for the weekend
Yesterday I had a dream where I was at some crazy huge party and somehow I lost an arm and a leg, but I didn't give a fuck. And then when I was walking (somehow) away from the party I came to the realization that my girlfriend would never love me like this and started to cry. It was pretty fucking freaky, I woke up happy as fuck that I still had all of my limbs.
I really suck at not thinking about things I shouldn't when trying this shit out. My thoughts usually go something like: "I shouldn't think about a wall of eyes watching me sleep." and suddenly shit hits the fan and everything escalates.
I literally thought the game was possessed or some shit.
Sharing our nightmares?
Last one wasn't that bad, just freaky. Was in Bed watching Twin Peaks on Blu Ray and BOB showed up. Fucking surround sound kicked into high gear and I was legitimately terrified of BOB.
Nah, it's fairly easy to think about happy things and pretend you don't notice the oppressive darkness that seems to be almost hungry or the almost humanoid shape at your window that's just slightly wrong in proportions. It's fine, think about being in a field lit with the sun while butterflies flit by and a deer with its baby drink from a stream in the distance, that'll distract you from the suffocating black entity surrounding you and the twitching silhouette in the doorway.
On that note, when you're in sleep paralysis everything you see is so fucking warped
It feels like my eyes are open, but they aren't, I'm pretty sure it's just a mental image of the room I know I'm sleeping in.
But god damn is that terrifying
That shit freaked me out too.
also in mgs4, when the puppet boss makes it seem like your playstation reset during the fight.
I've experienced lucid dreaming once, and I'm never gonna try and experience that shit again.
I drew what I saw the next day, because of how vivid the memory was, and I had to get it down.
It sucks ass, I know. But it was the most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my life.
It just stood there, staring at me. It never moved out of place, just jittered every once in a while. It also sounded like it was inhaling constantly, with a really bad case of smoker's lung.
>sleeping having a nice dream
>see someone standing next to the window in my room
>close eyes again
>realize someone unknown is in my apartment
>open eyes again
>he is just next to the bed
>feel pure dread
>wake up in an instant
>realize it was all an illusion
>fear disappears instantly and leaves no trace
This happen like 6 months ago and I'm still confused how pure terror can end in nothing that fast.
The first time I got to the clock tower fight in Deadly Premonition, it was about 2am. I was fucking tired but I figured I was so close to the end, why bother stopping now when there can't be more than like half an hour left?
So I did the rest of the game and naturally shit got fucking off the charts mega surreal. I woke up the next morning thinking that I had stopped at the clock tower and dreamed the rest of the game.
>20, living with family
>never heard of sleep paralysis
>shit going on everywhere
>try screaming for my dad to help
>can't do it
>finally come around, only just to call him
>sits next to me while I'm in my bed shaking from terror
Soon, VR will be like this
I weird one I sometimes get is dreaming that I'm waking up in my room, walking around a bit then waking up in bed again etc. etc. sort of like in a chain. When I finally wake up for real I have an inception moment working out if I'm actually awake
Man, only time I've ever been able to get a lucid dream was right after my dog died, she showed up in a dream and caused me to have a eureka moment. I tried to change my location but only managed it for like a second. Then I tried to blast a door off its hinges with my mind, but couldn't get it to work. Then I was halfway through trying to conjure Zero Suit Samus when the dream admin kicked me.
straight horror stuff isn't very good at scaring me anymore.
Two things are still good at scaring me:
>Fourth Wall breaking stuff like Irisu Syndrome and the like- most games that straight up threaten the player, do shit like abruptly close, change your wallpaper, pretend to be over and then abruptly spook you as you open your browser, etc
>Subversive, creepy horror like the first spooky robot bear game
It's called a false awakening, they're fucking awful in some situations
>Daily habit is waking up, using the bathroom, and brushing my teeth at 3 in the morning to walk to work
>Wake up and start using bathroom
>Realize everything is fucking dark
>I'm stumbling like I'm drunk
>Suddenly realize I'm using the bathroom at my job
>Think it's weird and wonder why it's getting so warm
>Decide to go to the mirror to brush my teeth
>Can't see my reflection, and why is it getting so war-
>FUCK FUCK FUCK WAKE UP WAKE UP
I was pissed when I came to
The first time an NPC engaged in a conversation with me in Oblivion freaked me out. The game world suddenly pauses, and if they're directly behind you, the camera is quickly swung around so you're facing them, their soulless eyes staring you in the face while the rest of the world is frozen in place.
Memes aside and in all seriousness it was this before I got used to the jumpscares
The reason is because you feel so vulnerable, I've never played a game that scared me before because I always felt tough as shit
>looking in mirrors in a dream
Does it count if you freaked yourself out?
I totally thought the REDs that Tayama was giving to demons were aborted fetuses. The first human farm room you go into had a woman unconscious with her legs spread. Then when you talk to kids it talked about moms and dads being separated. I thought women were mass impregnated/raped, fetus was harvested, rinse and repeat.
Not sure what that says about my psyche that I assumed that. Made me feel physically ill though.
I've had two real-life experiences in the same night while playing Half-Life 2:
>middle of the night in my basement
>playing Half Life 2
>fighting some Combine
>one of them throws a grenade at me
>Gordon's ears ring like they do in the game
>realize the ringing is lasting a little longer than it should
>start talking IRL, realize I can't hear a fucking thing
>start freaking out thinking I'm deaf
>hearing gradually fades back in
Now for the spookier one:
>the part where you climb under the bridge
>kept falling off the bridge and dying
>fuck those loading times seriously
>loading bar comes up
>gets 3 bars before it stops moving
>stays completely still for a good 10 minutes
>finally get tired of waiting and get up to turn the PS3 off
>as I approach the TV the loading bar shoots up to 100%
>out of nowhere the power goes out
>lights, TV, PS3, everything, and I'm left standing in complete darkness
>power comes back on shortly after
The second one spooked my guts out, especially after the first happened.
I remember my only experience of sleep paralysis.
>dreaming that I'm in my room
>I approach the wall next to my bed, then I see a flash of eyes that belong to a woman
>Next thing I feel is a hand choking me
>At this point, I realise I'm part awake, I can see myself lying on my back in my bed
>I try to grab the hand but my whole body is paralysed
>Can't make any noise
>Finally the nightmare ends after probably going on for 15 seconds.
I only had a similar dream like that before the above experience (the eyes, the hand), but that time it was outside, in my garden. Fortunately I've never dreamt about the hand choking me again.
>some years ago
>in the army
>doing the entire morning routine
>it was a dream
>have to do everything again
>happens nearly every morning
I woke up angry so many mornings.
>get ready for work, shower, breakfast, clean house a bit
>get on the bus
>usual ride, 2 hours have passed and im working
>im late for work
>run to the bathroom, get ready fast as fuck
>leave the house
this shit happens to me so much its not even fun, it gets really spooky sometimes to the point i lay there for a while to check if I'm dreaming
my life is becoming that one ito story
they last quite a while sometimes
>looking in the mirror in my dreams
>sometimes I'm balding
>sometimes my hair is all the way down my back
>sometimes I'm someone else
>sometimes I'm disfigured
>sometimes I'm not there
Never once have I looked in my bathroom mirror and actually saw myself.
I don't get scared easy and I can't really remember any nightmares that really scare me.
Although one time I dreamed that my girlfriend was being raped and I was forced to watch.
But vidya related I'd have to go with Hello? Hell... o? that freaked me out pretty much to the point where I didn't want to play anymore
>I was pissed when I came to
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU
>That instant of becoming lucid in the dream as you're already pissing
It all goes downhill so fast
>can't unlock sex in lucid dreams
>ask online for help
>seems like that feature is locked until you've experienced it in Real Life™
>pay hooker and apply the patch
>sex now works as intended inside the lucid dreams
I talked to a childhood friend about how pussy feels inside and she gave me a pretty detailed description
Since then my dreams had that similar sensation whenever I dreamed
I was slightly disappointed when I finally had sex, though
>Need to piss
>Thirsty as fuck
>trying to run in a dream
>Its like I'm in slow motion
sometimes I get these badass dreams where I need to run fast so I get down on all four and take off running fast as shit, feels really good, I need to start lucid dreaming shits probably better than real life
>playing Half Life 2 on PS3
Damn, son. That shit's the real horror right there.
Some time ago I made up six girls in my head to act as 'imaginary girlfriends'. Basically when I fap I picture this alternate fantasy world, basically a series of pornos starring me (the handsome, charismatic version) and various combinations of the girls in various scenarios depending on my current taste. I've been working on achieving lucid dreams lately in the hopes of being able to pretend fuck them with audio and video and maybe talking to my subconscious through them to get some self improving introspection going.
I had a similar problem with nosebleeds when I was younger, I used to get nose bleeds all the time during my sleep. It got so bad one night the blood seeped right through the mattress.
Last night I had the strangest nightmare
>In the dream I wake up
>Look around, all lights off, almost pitch black
>No light at all coming through window
>Get up and go to my stairs
>see two little kids with yellow glowing eyes crying on my steps
>Fucking song of healing starts playing
>Slowly approach them, music getting louder
>Kids glare at me and start screaming bloody murder
>Loud music and Kids screams makes my ears start bleeding
>Look down while covering my ears with my hands
>Spooky ass face looking right at me
>Another spooky face
I also had one about falling down my stairs in the same scenario, but without the kids screaming and the shitty music. I broke my legs by falling down the stairs, and shit kept jumping out at me.
>be like 14
>dream that I'm playing on my PC
>suddenly resident evil 1 zombies are invading my small fucking room
>reaching for my CPU button to shut it down
>while I wait for the hard reset I turn my head around
>it's a RE1 hunter
>as the hard reset triggers i wake up sweating as fuck
I still remember it, this god fucking nightmare. Since this day I don't play much horror vidya.
To me, the scariest thing in a video game was not the regenerators from resident evil 4, but the hospital area where you first find one.
The tight corners.
The narrow hallways.
The cold, dark abandoned atmosphere.
The feeling like you are descending into hell itself the whole way through.
When i got to one of the corridors where i turned a corner and saw a set of double doors that looked like it led to a meat locker full of genetic abominations and evil beyond comprehension, i went full paranoid. It was the first time i actually stopped playing a game for at least a week out of pure fear.
>ctrl+f "cry of fear"
>280 posts, no mentions of cry of fear
>what the fuck
It's fucking free and on Steam, you dipshits have no excuse.
>one of the first lucid dreams I had
>try to play it cool and not overdo anything to stay inside the dream
>end up going to dream 4chan
>sit and browse through threads that doesn't exist during the entire dream
It was great.
As for heart-racing scenes in games:
Being chased through the tunnels by the Antlion Queen in HL2 Episode 2.
But in terms of genuine fear and not just jumpscares: none. All horror games around nowadays are just jumpscares.
Come to think of it: The Evil Within - the first time the 4 armed demon lady showed up. I remember walking into the room feeling prepared for anything, then all of a sudden, she spurts out of the pool of blood, and my entire mood and emotional state just pulling a complete u turn.
I also shrieked like a little girl.
none of that movie is scary until that fucked up ending like wtf, and they are all standing there explaining the ending while he/she just stands there with that expression making that groaning sound in the background just wtf
We are mostly avoiding citing blatant horror games that everyone will naturally get spooked in because it goes without saying.
"Doom 3 genuinely scares me because of XYZ" would be postworthy because a lot of people are left cold by Doom 3.
Give me some suggestions on what messed up games to play.
I'm not a huge fan of typical horror, I'm easy to scare. As such, I typically don't like jumpscares or any of the typical crap that goes on in most 'horror' games and movies.
I do however, love it when a game pulls at my mind with how weird, warped, or fucked up it is.
I've played Yume Nikki as well as .flow. .flow was really fucking amazing in terms of how 'horror type weird' it is.
I've also played through the first Silent Hill a few times, but really, that's about it.
I'm usually afraid of trying mainstream horror games because I'm a pussy and don't like cheap scares. As I said, I strongly prefer psychological fuckery.
I've had multiple dreams of posting on /v/.
I'll read other people's posts, then dream myself typing up my post and posting it, and then seeing any replies to my post.
It's nearly indistinguishable from actual 4chan posting.
I could be dreaming right now and I wouldn't fucking know it.
>Dreaming about going out with a cute girl
>Dont know why, but she had cat ears
>Sunset somewhere in the city
>Not a single person exept her and me
>She starts to stare at me
>Hearing breaking bones as her head slowly turns to the side
>realizing her neck is starting to break
>She says "Its all fine"
>She Mutates in some sort of demon and jumps one me
>I fall into a hole
>I wake up and felt i landed in my bed
God, i was done after that
I wanted to conjure a girl in the unlikely event I managed to stay asleep long enough to bone her. I had a particular girl in mind if and when I managed a lucid dream, but I couldn't remember who it was and ZSS was just the first one who came to mind.
>the two ending cutscenes will never have proper audio sync
Anyway, how's the dev's new project? I think it was 'Asylum' or something.
Just a few pointers for those interested in lucid dreaming
>If you're worried about waking up, spin in a circle. This somehow works to keep the dram going
>If you're unsure whether you're awake, there are a few different reality checks you can do. I go with light switches, they never work in dreams
>Another reality check is to look in a mirror, although I do not recommend this as 9 times out of 10 you'll just see some spoopy shit and it'll ruin your dream
>Lucid dreaming is easiest when you're on the edge of sleep, this includes when you wake up. If you half-wake up and opt to snooze, try to lie on your back and think about entering a dream, it sometimes works just as well as, if not better than trying it at night
>fall in love with a girl inside a dream
>she doesn't exist
>still love her
The world is a cruel place.
>Did you know most praying mantises are agnostic?
Cought me by surprise
Im sure she loves you too
> Sometimes have sleep paralysis
> one time heared laughing kids
> one time I saw a black shadowdemon thing wailing on my bed and growling
> mfw demon is pounding on my bed
> mfw I want to scream like a little faggot, but I can't
FUCK SLEEP PARALYSIS
I have never been so fucking scared
Enemies you cant kill and have to to run away from usually make for tense gaming. Shit like Regenerators in Dead Space, Nemesis in Resident Evil, Pyramid Head in Silent Hill, and Zombies in OoT. What other games have enemies like this? Love that shit.
The most terrifying experience was probably playing Manhunt in the dark at night with my buddy but we were pretty young. Played Manhunt 2 uncensored on PC with a different buddy not long ago and that shit was also terrifying. The atmosphere of those games and the executions can really fuck with you even though you are the one doing all the killing.
To this day nothing more than this. None of the few horror games I have played have come close.
It could have been that I was younger but something about frantically wading my way through a dark sewer system at maximum speed while enemies that I couldn't see and were difficult to fight could theoretically be ALL AROUND ME and I had no idea where I was going or where to go gave me the worst time ever
I'm a lucid dreamer. I'm almost getting to the point where I can LD as soon as I fall asleep. Almost.
Thing is; I've 'never' in my life had sleep paralysis. Even when trying to LD, in which, it's supposed to be common.
I 'have' however, had the following;
I'll dream I'm getting up from bed, usually in a unknown location in a room somewhere. Like, a set up bedroom that simply isn't my own.
I will feel and act as if I'm EXTREMELY drunk. Like, I won't be able to move much, only crawl. When I try to talk in my dream, I'll only be mumbling.
The dreams arn't usually scary. The only scary thing that happens is me wondering whats wrong with me.
I will also feel like my head is being crushed in. Like I have a really, really bad headache.
Usually, I can't force myself awake from this state.
It's gotten so common to me that, really, I'm simply annoyed when it happens. Hell, it's got to a point where I'll instantly recognize what's happening. I still won't be able to wake up, but I'll usually just be pissed off at my inability to control it and the pain in my head.
If I wake up from this, and not doze off into another dream, I will usually feel the 'after effect' of the dream. As in, I'll have a really bad headache.
This is probably my brains version of sleep paralysis, I figure. I'm not sure though.
That said, I've found that lucid dreaming tends to give me more bad dreams in general, since I'm a paranoid person.
Take this for example; Dream will be good. I've made tentacles come out and fuck me.
When, for a split second, I think about what would happen if my dream suddenly became a nightmare. Suddenly, the tentacles rip me in half from the inside.
I'm not really spooked by it when I wake up anymore though. All around, shits fun.
without a doubt, the latest was fuckin' this
>Come out of a nightmare
>Know that if I don't move, I'll go back to that hellscape
i liked the most this Sullivan kid's adult version digging out something from the dead patient's womb
I recall playing that when I was about 13 and thinking it was just literally impossible to beat.
I can seriously fly in my dreams.
I used to have dreams of flying but I sucked at it. Now i can go full Superman mode.
The strange thing is it feels "normal" in my dreams. it's not a "I am dreaming, wooo time to fly" thing.
I just sometimes dream that I can fly, and I am getting better at it.
I've been trying to get LDs but only managed it once and that was completely by accident. Been doing reality checks, but I never seem to remember to do them in dreams. Got any recommendations for what worked for you?
Different anon here; (I'm >>282328246 )
My short guide to getting into lucid dreaming:
Find a soft sound. One that is unique enough to notice it from any other sound. But one that isn't harsh enough to 'jump' you.
Turn that sound into a alarm.
Set said alarm to go off roughly an hour and 10 minutes after you sleep.
Try to ingrain into your skull what the alarm is supposed to be for.
If you're lucky, you will hear the sound in your dream and remember what it was for.
Do it enough, your'll be able to LD alot easier and eventually, without a sound.
Tips while lucid;
The trick to staying asleep is, keeping yourself 'just enough' aware to know your sleeping.
But aside from that, don't think about anything else relating to reality. Keep yourself stupid enough to stay asleep.
eventually your'll be able to do more and be able to think about things more without waking up.
If you even 'think' about bad things. If you even think of the possibility of bad things. It's too late. Emotions and thoughts are hard to control when you're dreaming. You 'will' have something bad happen.
Best bet is stop thinking, let yourself fully sleep, try again some other time.
Once I rejected an amorous girl in my dream.
That never fucking happened before. Usually it leads to either a mess in the morning or blue balls as a result of hallucinatory humping.
I'm not sure if this is significant.
I've had it a couple of times. You haven't lived until sleep paralysis convinces you you have bugs in your ears.
I had it just the other day, in fact, and dreampt about a tv and screaming like >>282313559
I got dragged to a gamestop midnight release Smash tournament. I've been to plenty of locals for fighting games so I know what to expect when it comes to nerds but this is a different beast entirely.
I don't think I'll ever forget the smell or the sounds. The amount of autism and underage crammed into one stripmall store was obscene. Literal giraffe height spergs screaming about Samus being a girl, bald malets in capes discussing the intricacies of Marth vs Fox, 8 year olds screaming about Sonic the Hedgehog. Black men the size of hippos asking me if I know what "moe" is.
My friend and I would have bailed as soon as he got his copy but he had the brilliant idea to actually participate in the event.
We were there all night, he placed 2nd, I let the kid I got matched with win.
I had a dream once which changed my life, I've had to go on anti depressants from it. It was so surreal to the point where I still question my reality, it felt like it was years long when it was just one night
>pretty much live a whole life, earliest part of the dream was in secondary school
> meet a girl
>looks like kirsten dunst
>we never really get along, always shouting shit at each other
>one day she shows me something she drew, can't remember what is was
>talking to her more and more
>we click so well, same personality humour but our interests are different
>I fall in love with her, she leaves me for about 3 years
>comes back explaining what happened, I'm still in love with her, I have to take her back
>it's like nothing ever happened
>taking her on grand romantic schemes, building my dreams around her
>get a house with her
>just cuddling with her and keeping her safe
>there is no one to comfort me
>there never was this girl
>I've stop pursuing relationships because they're nothing like her
One day I'll find her
requiem is not a game - it's just a tech demo for the game engine physics. I found Clarence rather a funny monkey, than scary fucker (especially, after the game went buggernuts with the virus vs virus confrontation and all)
It's just the dog in Penumbra Demo was such a fuckin' fresh experience
Not much to say. I'm a sexual deviant and I love sexual things. When I'm not trying to have conversations with people that don't exist in my sleep, I'm typically doing something sexual.
I typically just think "If I go around this corner, this will be there" and it usually happens. Tentacle monsters, other people, fake vidya, etc.
It's a pretty fun escapism.
I find that, like reality, you need to train to do something.
I can't say I know the exact sciences of sleep, but I'm pretty sure you need to 'work out' your 'dream' side of the brain to really become proficient in doing something. Like control.
Nope. Sorry. If you know me online, name starts with "Rem", if you know me irl, name starts with "N"
I do this a lot with friendships. Like with people I used to be close with and we've fallen out of touch or something. I have a great moment of reconciliation and our friendship is repaired, and then I wake up and it's the same as it ever was
same as it ever was
same as it ever was
>I think the general consensus is
Only if you're a middle-aged woman anon.
The general consesus is that we don't exactly know why we have dreams, but they don't have a reason and are probably a by-product.
Actually SH2 had the only true dread I've ever experienced. The first apartment block, pre-PH when the only enemies are squigglies
At some one the locked door (Broken lock) by the stairs on the first floor is open for some reason, and at the end of the long ass dark hallway full of doors is a single medicinal item.
Walking back down that, torch facing the camera, darkness closing behind and no music, just footsteps
That hallway was hell. I have no idea why, but it felt like it would never end, and I was just waiting for something awful
no thank you
I always dream about going too far with my friends or family, either saying something so bad to them that they hate me and don't want to talk to me or I accidentally beat them until they're crippled/dead. Fuck anyone who says you can't hurt anybody in a dream, that shit is distressing.
I practiced Lucid Dreaming when I was young and I stopped at a point now where I realized I am dreaming and if its a good dream or I am lazy, I just say to myself "Just ignore you are dreaming" and I continue on dreaming
>Something in dream causes you to be 'REALLY' happy. Or have a extreme emotion of some sort.
>Wake up with the same emotion.
On one hand, it can be nice. But to know I can't normally find anything that makes me feel that happen in real life is depressing.
On the other hand;
Bad dreams are a bitch.
