Could somebody link me to the foolz post where the one at 6:14 was posted?, or repost the webm?
Also, can somebody make something like this?
I have a very basic question. So far all I've made are these little machines. I got to the rock map and built this shitty crane that somehow managed to do the job, but I'm having trouble understanding how to give things real structure. This thing wobbled all over the place.
My main question is about making something like a tank turret -- it looks like no matter what you do, if you want something that rotates it has to go through a SINGLE steering block. So how can you support something like this crane and keep it stable?
this one is far better
ALLAHU AKBARat this game
there's a button on the ui that reads machine info, turn on the COM option to display a little orb that shows your center of mass and balance it out with weights and suspensions
siege engine/torture devices. Have you seen the one that picks up one dude, throws him in a box and mashes him with spikes? Seems like a pretty legit torture device in my own opinion
maybe this is why?
please see >>281986978
I can't do webums but how is my first attempt at a missile carrier?
And is there anyway to make them fly farther?
>We have finally reached the point in video games where an unscripted crash in a goofy ship someone built for fun now looks like something in a CGI film.
I'm glad I'm alive to see this.
Dude got bashed in the face with a big-ass hunk of whatever the crap the grabber is made out of, if he didn't die from that, he's probably unconscious for when the spike impales his face and probably kills him instantly if he wasn't dead before.
Dude is dead basically instantly.
You have to be alive to be tortured, do you even know what torture means?
Every device ITT is a murder machine, not a torture machine
even this is technically not a torture machine
Reposting from yesterday. In the previous thread someone suggested replacing wood with pistons so I don't have worry about burning. Pistons don't work for it at all though, they're too flexible and don't align as nicely. Also when there's so many of them, my CPU has trouble keeping up.
Built a long range slingshot.
>mfw it actually fucking works
web of it in motion. http://webmup.com/G9ndc/
Multistage is just adding another few wood blocks and another decoupler with another set of cannons with a different hotkey to manually fire the separate stages. Don't know about a weight solution.
What I'm currently trying to do is fit a missile battery onto an all-purpose vehicle but I'm trying to make a practical build. I need to protect the missiles from arrows and make the ride smooth enough to keep the missiles from detonating during travel.
My current build has just had shit strapped onto it as it became necessary so it's wobbly as hell but it gets the job done. I like my missile mounts and anchoring mechanism. The anchor decouples too once the missiles are fired. I want to find a way for the whole thing to have a smaller profile while at rest. I probably need to just rebuild fresh and put braces on everything.
And then this is a quick and dirty multistage rocket.
I think it's about time for me to set up recording and webms for this shit.
She walks fine without wheels. Those are for turning
and if you mash the keys fast enough you can slowly move forward to climb up inclines as the leg motion can't
its basically the same thing, you press V to release stuff and generally with pistons you want to shoot the pistons, time it so they'll be extended 99% of the way and then release H and then tap V a split second after
Like ctapping when you rocket jump, if you're into that
Just proof she can move without wheels while also carrying a load. Turning was a different, pain inducing story.
I haven't played it in some time, but in the early days it was more "WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE" levels of fun building in a general sandbox, but from what I understand the game has an actual mission/goal structure now?
But I meant mostly in the "WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE" levels of fun building way--Though the fact that this has puzzles is a pleasant surprise.
What is the music playing in this one? I can't quite put my finger on it, is it from star trek?
>There will never be a PvP mode
>you will never see two of any of these great inventions fighting
Hopefully the success of this game attracts more people to make these types of games
Local might be pretty easy with pads. Hell, right now you could probabably build two separate machines with completely different controls, and fight on a keyboard that doesn't eat inputs.
The game is made in Unity right?
I've dabbled a bit into it and making online physics synchronize is a living hell, you'd be better off making your own engine from scratch specialized in this. So yeah I doubt there'll be any multiplayer mode anytime soon.
Looks like samurai really are better than knights and castles.
Now all that's left is to find out how to further weaponize this. Smaller plane will allow more of them, but that's hard, and upscaling the carrier will kill my CPU.
How do I do neat stuff like catapults? How do you guys make functional, steerable cars? I really want to make a truck with an extendo scorpion tail on it that I can attack with but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how to do neat stuff.
95% of the time the legs disintegrate after a few steps, it took a shitload of tries just to get to the house for that. Adding any more weight makes it just collapse almost immediately.
Oh god, I'm fucking dying
guys I just got the game, and I have problems with building my rockets. How the hell do I turn this thing around? pic related
>Besieged RTS game where you get low poly models of shit you made that met X criteria for certain units
like X amount of cannons and a swiveling turret for tanks and shit,
god damn it would be rad as hell
Is it possible/has anyone made any of the Robots from Robot Wars?
Anyone trying to GO FAST?
Post land speed record contenders. This piece of shit is the best I've got so far.
Why don't people shit on this game like they do Hatred? It's the same shit on a bigger scale, you're even invading some poor country that wants nothing to do with you and genociding them. You kill civilians in a huge bloody burnt mess. They writhe in agony and bleed out. Their limbs go flying.
But nobody bats an eye.
I wish there was a map editor. You could make maps with custom forts and waves of troops, then upload them for others to destroy in fun ways.
Some form of object spawner would be nice as well, for ammunition.
>Explosions going of with the music
>Mechs lifting with 'push it to the limit'
>Flying machines looking down
>You better win it!!! as the flying machine dives
NASA should hire this fucker to work on the next Mars rover, holy fuck; my dick got hard from the sheer engineering potential of it.
It's like I was witnessing the video on skycrane and curiosity all over again.
would making Chaos 2 be possible?
or aren't flippers a thing?
So here it is, my first serious machine, just a light tank but is quite underwhelming against anything in this thread.
Im still very proud of my recoiless cannon turret, it has 0 kickback I will try to make a webm in this shitty laptop
I don't know how you would make a flipper strong enough. I tried making Panic Attack but couldn't figure out how to do the flipper.
It's actually not that difficult.
>Set the the topmost hinges to move inward and outward on the same command, this is to adjust when you put differing loads on the beast
>second set of hinges placed like a knee-joint. bind these to a different set of keys: they will actuate your angle of motion when you start to walk
>Pistons, took the most time to get done, but the most efficient and fastest method so far is
>frontmost pistons: alternating buttons
>middle pistons: as above, but flip the keys (So if you set the front ones to F and K, the middle would be K and F
set these to the same key. you can still walk if you set them as alternating, but you will have less speed
I'm simply one with my machine.
But really, the organic-ness is due to a "calculated" lack of struts in certain areas. This means there is micro-differences in the distance from piston to ground on each leg, which doubly ensures you don't just bounce in place.
The thing I would like most about the multiplayer we're never getting isn't necessarily everyone's creations fighting each other, but seeing how the wildly different ones would cooperate with each other. The smaller fast attack vehicles defending the siege engines and SCUD launchers and whatnot would be cool as shit. The huge warships hotdropping the smaller vehicles. Endless possibilities.
Hmm I see
The people who made Panic Attack live on my street funnily enough
Sgt. Bash could probably be done as I've seen flamethrowers
I should really buy this game though, looks really cool
Tut tut, you always pirate first before buying.
Games like this show me that this board isn't dead yet. Construction games in general bring out the best in /v/.
Let's just hope the game actually updates regularly so it doesn't fade into obscurity.
I can almost smell your entitlement
It's turn based. On each turn both players manipulate joints on the body and then the turn plays. It goes for however amount of time and then you do it again and again until you run out of time or they get KO'd.
The less time between turns the more intricate your moves can be, and that's how that shit was done.
It's all very fiddly and hard to learn. Good fucking fun though, and it will never get old.
why are there so few webms of machines trying out the obstacle course? seems like a lot of untapped potential for everyone playing
(id make some but my computer couldnt handle this game, hopefully in a couple of weeks ill be able to contribute or something)
>implying this isn't another feature of the month flash in the pan that's going to make a lot of money of potential alone before the dev runs with the money leaving you to cry like a bitch about how it all went wrong somehow
protip: More money generally equals less productivity
>>giving the peoples elbow to the people
>Build A-Frame that has a 3 bock gap
>attach to swivels opposite eachother, inside of your A-frame
>black between them
>make the block long in the back, half as long in the front
>place bomb at long end of beam
>delete block next to bomb
>put single block and grabber
>back to swivel area
>put a single block on top
>attach struts from this block to both ends of beam, on both sides
>attach to short end of beam
>attach other end to just behind the mid-point on the A-Frame, at the ground level
>press L, when just about to reach the top, press v
>"I HAVE COME TO DESTROY YOU"
I could make a robot which is actually like six robots put together that each deploy from a single body, A catapult works on literally all the combat stages except the sheep one.
>that audio for the last one
I have been viewing these threads for the past few days. In these threads, I have laughed more times than I can count, I have teared up at almost all of these, and the exceptional ones have made me truly happy.
Thank you /v/, please, keep on doing this. This game is fucking amazing and I love you all. Keep up the good work.
I made Killalot but he's a bitch to control.
Made a mecha from PAtlabor. Shit's fun yo.
>tfw your machine made it in
I'm already dropping frames with this one. I could make a bigger one, but I'm not sure if I could actually move it on my PC. I'll see what I can do later today, I'll probably be in one of these threads in ~8 hours.
Okay, sorry it took so long. Please post this one in the future.
It's better to put the turning wheels on the outside so they don't drag even when you're just going straight.
Also, I don't know what the fuck is going on with that flipping. That's fucking retarded and confusing.
