wait, whats wrong with this game?
I just got it about a week ago and I'm having a lot of fun with the way it plays and progresses.
Theres a ton of issues with the game but its not bad despite its many flaws
But mainly it has these issues
>level system forces you to play classes just for stats instead of the class you want to play
>only one city
>pawns are rather dumb sometimes making encounters harder then they need to be
>combat is rough around the edges
>traveling through game world gets tiring when enemies seem to spawn at the same places every time
>Invetory can be quite clunkky due to navigation with controller and how long it takes to come up
>general lack of polish
My only other issue is that hard mode is literally just number tweaking so you have less stamina and enemies hit you way harder. Pawns are unaffected though.
Still a pretty good game all around, solid 8/10.
>he never made it past the Snake head escort mission
>he thinks having a trip means his statements are noteworthy
What a surprise
>yfw he doesn't actually have a tripcode so everyone can impersonate him
Would it hurt you to have at least try not be a faggot?
does anyone seriously think we're getting dogma 2 or dogma 1 nextgen/pc port?
it's never gonna happen. this is capcom
i would love for it to happen and would eat my words if it did but it won't. if anything expect some f2p mobile online what the fuck ever bullshit
Thats a good one faggot, please continue
You're the one who derailed the topic with your cancerous faggotry, own up to it
Also don't post here again, even everyday shitposters are preferable to tripfags trying to "defend" themselves against the whole thread
You clearly don't understand, I'm brilliant and nothing you do will change that. That's why I got this name, so you know your place.
How about we talk about a game than impersonate a shitty namefag for 100 posts?
Now I like the game, is there actually a sequel to be announced or is this just to have a DD thread? Because I'm fine with either.
They already tried f2p mobile shit and it bombed.
I don't think they're trying that again.
At best we will get a nextgen version or a PC Port
which is all anyone rationally expects. If that sells well, we might, MIGHT get DD2
>is there actually a sequel to be announced
Abandon all delusions of control.
Oh man, this is gonna suck fucking balls. I'm only hoping for the worst now but wishfully thinking that they'll announce either a port with new features and areas or a sequel.
Capcom, please don't fuck this up.
Oh what am I saying? They're gonna fuck it up.
Mon visage when it is in fact not happening.
>level system forces you to play classes just for stats instead of the class you want to play
Bullshit. Stat growth means pretty much nothing, especially after level 50/100. Gear is king.
Ok, I gotta confess, I've been rusing you guys all along; I don't think DD is a bad game, it was merely an act. Please don't reply to any of my posts, I was just trying to derail the thread.
LISTEN, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DERAIL THE THREAD YOU BETTER NOT REPLY TO ANY MORE OF MY POSTS, OK?
>arisen MK or MA
>pawn mage or sorcerer
You probably played sorcerer for one of those vocations anyway and can switch back to it. And you don't even need to if you want to train your pawn to use basic spells or just the standard staff attack.
Right now I have a ranger pawn and I switched to ranger myself and me and my pawn were able to stun lock daimons both forms into death so there is also that.
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
It's literally fucking nothing
>Wanting nice things
Good luck with that
I think it has something to do with jump festa?? I know it on december 20 but I don't really know if or when they're gonna show anything (I read that dragon's dogma creator said that he was gonna show something himself tho). Anyway, someone knows if there's a stream or something?
>Not blaming the anons for giving him attention
Jesus christ, it's fucking Kronie. Just ignore him. Oh wait, no one in this thread has been here long enough to know to ignore that faggot.
If you compare someone whos played mage into sorcerer the lvl1 -100 vs someone who did fighter to warrior you see significant stat differences.
Get ready for Dragom's Dogma 2 from Ninja Theory! Containing none of the things that made the first game good! Set in an edgy, run down city where people are the reeeeaaaaalll monsters! Be on the edge of your seat the entire time as you follow the story of Tameem Enchiladas, and his epic saga to overcome the evil oppressive companies, and their legions of followers!
well that's not entirely accurate, you can place up to 10 portcrystals on the map, but that's still more than enough, I was really bummed when I found out I couldn't draw a dick on the Estan Plains with my portcrystals, I had to settle for a dick constellation
2000 hp is significant dumb fuck, plus its a 300 difference in MA and when gear at most gives 1730 from the best archstaff then you best believe 300 will matter, the difference grows to 600 by lvl 200.
>spent most of my starting time in Cassardis just to hear this
Just give the option to mute pawns or significantly reduce repeated dialogue, and you're set.
This wouldn't have even been hard to implement. I'm a little dumbfounded that no one on the dev team thought once 'wow these pawns get fucking annoying after a while' and suggested a mute option
Warriors don't care about having loads of HP, and neither do Mages. The only stat that matters there is strength and magick, and the difference isn't significant to justify forcing yourself to play a class you don't enjoy for 100 levels, Anon.
Abandon all delusions of anything good happening
So who else
got raped by the Drake doing that one escort mission. You know which one.
That pissed me off my first playthrough.
Try flipping it, a mage switching to a warrior will get fucked because their hp pool is half of the warriors. Idk where you got the idea hp doesn't matter, no matter your gear double hp means twice as many hits you can endure. Period. Granted I've never played normal mode so maybe nothing hits hard enough for it to matter.
And an 1/4 increase in magic may mean the difference between having to cast 1 spell or 2 to kill an enemy. Considering how long that can take I would say it matters.
I dunno, to me it isn't worth having to spend 100 levels as a class I'm not enjoying but I can imagine the difference can be rewarding to those willing to put the effort forward. I just don't think the game forces you to do so.
>escort the mayor of cassardis to the great wall
>it's already pitch black night
>see in the distance something big with a long tail
>thinking it's the snake tail of the chimera
>I beat so many chimeras this will be easy
>run at it
>realize what it is
>still try to attack it
>I'm a brave arisen
>drake breaths fire
>I laugh my ass off because of my own stupitiy
I loved this game from there on
It does, I played most of the game with it on, and no its not really anymore varied. I get the same quips all the time, but since I can't understand shit its not as annoying. Was it only in english originally like DMC?
In all honesty, I would prefer a PC port of Dragon's Dogma rather than a second installment
>Spam 'Help!' so my shitty hired Mage buffs me
>"'Tis hardly befitting of an Arisen, Master"
>main pawn is guardian/scather
>god damnit, take a seat
>would you rather me be guardian or acquisitor
>use help when grabbed by mimic
>tis hardly befitting of an arisen, master
>inclination changed back from acquisitor to guardian/scather
>one trip to the beach later spent rest of the game solo
whenever the dragon shows up shit in the world gets bad, that's why people comment about shit like goblins having a bigger presence. probably applies to the brine too.
don't blame pawns for the incompetence of their masters. they were plenty effective with the right inclinations and proper training.
>not having utilitarian primary
Though it was fun having an offensive, Lina Inverse-style blaster mage that got exasperated when I asked for anything other than the monsters to die.
>Talk to an NPC with maxed affinity
>Obviously purple aura to indicate it
>Take a closer look
>Female NPCs' cheeks blush
Years later there's still little details I never noticed before
>have a PS3
>PS3 corrupts in the summer (heat?)
>lost all savedata
>tfw grinding the final place for the fucking super rare items, like that fucking scarf for hours
>can't face playing the game again
>a remake might be imminent
I am a little hyped. I did buy the new DD with the expansion but never got round to it (plus I'm still a little salty). I'd love to play it at decent FPS.
Blaming the game for your pawns being shit is like blaming the game for killing you too quick because you don't want to wear armor. Raising smart pawns is part of the game, and if you refuse to do certain things you deal with the consequences.
>Dragon's Dogma HD!
>For PS4 and XBone!
>still not on PC
I'm going to marry Aelinore!
This. So much this. My goddamn guardian amazonian-warrior-woman bitch-slapped everything from day one, kept shit at bay (when I switched to mage), and didn't hesitate to do anything I said
So I was playing Dragons Dogma just a while ago. I slid down one of those slopes and got stuck in the terrain. After two or three seconds of not being able to do anything the game teleported me back to the top of the slope.
Did this happen to anyone else? I thought it was pretty neat.
>build warrior pawn up to be a fucking unstoppable tank
>drake grabs him
>"I am your master"
>being an Aelinore apologist
>bought dark arisen for the berserk fan service
best fucking 20 I've spent that year
You're a faggot, Asche. And you wanted to fuck the woman you thought of as a mother figure so much, that you decided to fuck her pawn. I bet Grette is laughing her dragon ass off in the Rift.
>Take my friend's max level pawn into online ur-dragon fight just to make things easier
>Not paying attention
>Pawn gets grabbed and possessed
>One shots both of my other pawns and then me
>Dude was a cunt
He was only speaking the truth. Mercedes was sent by herself, not with a parade of soldiers. Julien was, too, but at least he admits the other regions/countries don't give a shit about the pact with Gransys.
Her didn't have to keep calling her a she-goat. Dammit I wish we'd spent more time with Mercedes and Julien and not so much with the king and his creepy loli wife.
>tfw find all those scenes with the wife really uncomfortable
>that scene where he starts strangling her
DIN LIKE IT
there's character creation guides for a surprising number of NPCs on the wiki
She returns to her homeland to petition her father, the king, to send actual aid instead of a pretty face (her)
She says she'll return better able to server you, but never does unless she's your beloved and captured by the dragon
Dammit, I wish someone on PS3 would take my Dante out for a spin before they announce a new game.
Level 61 on PS3.
Theurgeist. If you have any fancy remarks, he's on both /ddg/ pawnlists.
I'm trying to work through the game again to get to fancy red endgame gear to make him stylin', but it ain't easy.
5/5 would fills souls with light with
Yeah, it's pretty unsatisfactory. I was a female Arisen and MASTERWORKS ALL first time through the game. Goddammit.
Its got one of the worst intros to a game gameplay wise, but you probably already got past that so thats good(unless you went straight to bitterblack which changes the game into a survival horror).
I liked it personally but I found the lack of enemy variety disappointing and there's not as many armors as I'd like and most dont look particularly great, oh and the way to unlock the ability to buy all armors is complete bullshit and you can screw yourself out of it pretty easily.
I'll take it. DD with better textures and better FPS, I'll take fucking ten. PC would be lovely, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
>inb4 this is actually a Deep Down announcement and not Dragon's Dogma
>that odd feel when you were completely turned of Deep Down when it was revealed it was set in the future and all the dungeon stuff isn't "real" in the game
Where do I go to see this so called announcement when it happens? Also, when does it happen?
I really should make more webms of Warrior smack down
and how to properly play them
or stream them
BBI hard mode is fun, and STILL is a challenge even at max level and maxed gear
Why he hell did I get myself hyped for something AGAIN? Where would the "announcement" even take place?
Fuck OP and fuck everyone who's been fucking with me about some DD announcement since E3
Fug. I haven't played it for a couple of years, so I'd forgotten. Sorta kinda realised that when I remembered that the Arisen doesn't speak much.
>Suikoden is dead
Hey, at least we aren't the TWEWY fags.
I'm European, anon. Don't rub it in.
ive never gotten far past the griffon mission, i always get bored when i realize ive already explored the whole map and the lack of variation in encounters but i still enjoyed it. am i missing much?
Sort of. The Seneschal is the thing that keeps the world alive, so to speak. So long as the Seneschal is content with their position, the world remains fairly normal. But, once the Seneschal wishes to leave their duties, the world can become chaotic, monsters can appear seemingly from nowhere, and eventually, a dragon is sent out to find a new Seneschal.
All in all, being Seneschal is neither a good or bad thing. It is simply another task given to the arisen to complete.
early lv 20's when night fall there are tons of direwolves it's god damn scary and also having to deal with Chimera and snow harpies at the same time while dealing shit damage to one direwolf
Dragon Dogma is the prime example of wasted potential of the entire last generation. It was so easy to make it right, to make it a cult 10/10 title.
>limited fast travel, which is cool as it makes you focus on exploration
>however, the same trite worthless non-damaging low-tier enemy placements, they aren't even randomized completely ruin it
>you stop taking any damage 10-20 hours in, because of bad gear scaling/poor progression
>that menu healing is probably the worst thing I've ever seen in a game in the last years
>beginning of the game, night is fucking dark, you can bump into cyclops, wolves are difficult because they can hardly be seen as they move around constantly; travelling feels like real danger and it's very intense - best feeling ever
>night is fucking useless as you can skip it at the inn, it's almost never required for quests either, it should have been forced onto you. also, 4 lanterns ruin it further
>the game's difficulty is so trivial with pawns you are forced to play without them; however, in order to realize this, you basically spent the best part of the game with pawns your first playthrough, assuming they were there because they were required, as you can't know this in the first few hours.
>10 fps with letterboxing whenever spellcasting happens
Literally the easiest things to fix. I don't ask for much. Randomize the fucking enemy placement. Increase the number of big ones as your playtime increases. Get rid of cancer menu healing. Make the game hard when you are with pawns.
That's it. That's fucking it. Would have been game of the generation with minor polish and simple number twinking.
It's probably the first game that made me genuinely sad for having glaring issues, instead of hating it.
I've started 3 different playthroughs on DD, and I always lose interest around fighting the rogue mage at the top of that tower that's really far away from Gran Soren.
Microshit's bitter remark about SFV as an exclusive clearly proves you wrong. They are butthurt they ain't getting an exclusive. Perhaps even in bad terms with capcom, who knows.
