First time playing
Probably need to grind a bit
Just started playing mother a bit ago
I'm stuck right here because I'm to lazy to look around the cloud city some more
It's easier to read a walkthrough than have me explain. But basically it's time to leave for now. You need to talk to her when you get the full song. Head to the right direction, you'll find your exit
Can't do that. Doing so would get me banned, Anon. But consider reading this tumblr post http://frezned.tumblr.com/post/17971460948/so-youre-interested-in-the-mother-earthbound
These 2 are my favorite songs from earthbound
Both of these songs give my heart pumping like I'm going to have a panic attack. It's like when you have a song as your alarm for every morning and you hear it some other time out of the alarm context.
This is an Earthbound/Mother thread, we're going to say of course.
It's not a game that will click with everyone, but it definitely is a unique and memorable game everyone should check out at least once
If you can deal with most JRPG's, yeah totally. This is a fun JRPG with a great and unique story. Great music, character design, and the minor gameplay nuances separate it from being a mediocre Dragon Quest clone.
Yes unless you're masochistic. Not trying out earthbound is like seeing the most delicious, moist chocolate cake on a platter for free and you say "Nah that's okay"
I mean /v/ hates everything, but Earthbound is the one game everyone agrees on saying it's god-tier. The only people who talk shit about it are just baiting for replies.
> the most delicious, moist chocolate cake
It's not the most delicious and moist if Mother 3 is better.
Still, it's a nice series to play through. There's no reason not to play through it unless you have no time left or something.
>and that's completely objective
The only way you can argue it objectively is in combat, because it's a turn based RPG.
The story and stuff I think works more in Earthbound. Sometimes I felt the setting and pacing of MOTHER 3 felt off. The end really pays off though.
You need to play Earthbound before MOTHER 3, no exceptions. You will regret it if you don't. You can skip MOTHER 1, but you'll also be missing something there too.
As a kid I really hated having to play through the Threed parts.
Mostly because I was a wussy 5th grader and zombies and undead scared me shitless up to that point.
And then I played Resident Evil and eventually became immune to that shit.
>pretending to be me
Also what do?
fourside is one of the cooler part of the game
oh christ what the fuck
Absolutely love this game/series.
If you ever want to replay it in the future, try an uncensored ROM patch. It's damn entertaining.
the comfy music is the best.
If you're not there to kill goats, crows and dogs til you get enough money to buy the t-rex bat, you're playing earthbound wrong
actually no, it's totally up to you. it takes around an hour of dedicated work, though. You kill crows for cookies and dogs for bread rolls, then sell them to the shop until you have enough money. Buy the t-rex bat, then when you meet Ness, you've got the best weapon in the game for like 30 levels.
It's what he chose to name the female character at the beginning of the game.
What, don't tell me you're a pleb that actually keeps the stock names on Earthbound, right? Personalizing the game is what makes the game so profound.

This is Paula, PAULA FAGGOT, NOT YOUR PERSONAL BLOG, NOT YOUR MISSED OPPORTUNITY BACK IN SCHOOL
It just gets windy after you nap is all. No big deal. Don't wander too close to the water, if you do plan on trying for the t-rex bat.
You can sell the ruler and the compass. They do nothing. The compass isn't like a directional compass, it's the mathematical tool. Selling those is $2, and it frees up 2 slots for cookies for your bat.
Man, fuck. This makes me really want to play this game. But it's on the wii u my girlfriend bought.. before she moved back home and broke up with me and took the wii u with her...
I'd play it on my PSP but i can't figure out how to turn off piracy mode, so there's constantly a billion enemies on screen.
Sooo... Sell the bottle rocket for 69 or keep grinding cookies and bread rolls?
You can safely sell the big bottle rocket, the boiled egg, the ruler and the protractor. Keep the broken air gun and bad key machine (Since you have to have the key machine).
When your IQ stat hits 12, sleeping will give you a chance to fix the broken air gun into a weapon. That's Jeff's other special talent, he can fix broken items sometimes. So don't sell that, it makes a great weapon for him later on.
And again, if you don't feel up for grinding cookies and bread, feel free to move on.
