I really want to see a proper non-casual Rayman 4 with a plot of Mr.Dark, Razorbeard and Andre returning to seek revenge on Rayman with similar gameplay to 2 & 3. Too bad we'll only be getting 2D Rayman games if we even get anymore...

The first three games are all amazing, 3 being my favorite. Origins/Legends look lame so I haven't bothered with them.

3 is my favourite 3D Rayman. Legends is my favourite 2D one.

Generally People say 2 is the best 3D one and for the best 2D one it's a toss between the first one and Origins.

I was a huge fan of Rayman when I was younger.

I was also autisticly mad about the fact that Rayman 2 was in 3D and didn't have the same feel as the first one, so I never got around to play it.

I liked origins personally, and I adore the first two games.

In legends they brought back a lot of the origins levels but neutered the difficulty, and the "reward" unlocks were stupid 8bit themed versions of music stages with filters over the screen so you literally can't see what the fuck is going on, was incredibly disappointing

I still play the ever living shit out of the original trilogy from time to time. Rayman 2 and 3 were actual proper PC ports. Though to my knowledge the "Raving Rabbids" shit was going to be R4, but due to time constraints they cancelled that and turned it into a mediocre party game. Sad. As for Origins and Legends they're pretty good but I liked the original three better.

Rayman Arena/M was a fine spinoff, I saw no problems with it. Though it really was a missed opportunity the PC version of the game didn't have online, because the battle mode was really fucking hectic and a lot of fun.

Originally, the "Raving Rabbids" minigames were supposed to be a part of Rayman 4 (you know, like, minigames). But then a Wii was released, and Ubisoft was interested in scrapping the entire platformer part of Rayman 4 and make more minigames. Now I can't say for sure, but I think Ancel was mad, and in order to calm him, Ubisoft let him develop Beyond Good & Evil 2 (they didn't want to make another one because the first one's sales were not enough for Ubisoft).

I now have all the Rayman games thanks to a gog.com sale a while back and Legends being on sale last week.

I started Rayman Forever and holy fuck is this difficult. I thought it couldn't get worse than Band Land but Blue Mountain is kicking my ass.

I also started playing Legends, fun game that's a ton easier so far. Seems like I'd be better off waiting till I can play through the game in multiplayer though.

One of the most charming and made-with-love 2D platformers of the recent years, along with its prequel and Kirby Epic Yarn.

3 was my favorite. I first got it on PC but like most people posted already, couldn't get past the fucking knaaren. Scary shit that was. I played each game in order 1 - 2 - 3 and funny enough i enjoyed them in the reverse order 3 - 2 - 1.

I got rayman 3 on my gamecube and played the shit out of it. Finished it over 10 times. Rayman 2 is a close 2nd but only because it had less dialogue and voice overs. Can't believe i never figured out that billy west did the voice of murphy! I actuallly played rayman 2 on about 5 different consoles (n64, pc, playstation, ds, 3ds) and it never gets old.

I loved the general feel of adventure that the 3d rayman games offered and it just felt so immersive with those soundtracks too. Rayman 1 was ok but the platforms were dodgy, the jumping felt heavy and the difficulty got over the top at certain bits to the point where you can't progress without taking a hit from certain obstacles. I really wish there would be another 3d rayman game. Something about the colorful worlds and atmosphere just felt so fun to play in.

I wasn't phased at all by Cave of Bad Dreams, with the exception of the black fart/caterpillar parts obviously, I even didn't get scared by the slide/chase near the end, considering the jaws closing on you a neat as hell idea.

But the black caterpillars, fuck no. I asked my younger brother to pass the sections with them.
Thought I were less scared of some of them when I realized that some of them have yellow eyes instead of white and that the former don't chase after you, but move on predestined tracks.

If I had to access to the cave of bad dreams master on the marsh I simply closed my eyes, spammed attack and spinned in a circle for around 10 seconds before proceeding.

Even though Michel cancelled what could've been an awesome new title in the series, it seems the Rabbids apparently really worked out in Ubisofts favor, regardless of all the Rayman fans wanted to tear them apart, they've ended up having a bunch of sequels and spinoffs.

I'm not sure if there is an actual difference between the PS3 and 360 version but I do remember it having issues. I've actually 100%ed and got all the trophies/achievements (Seriously the perfection trophy is ridiculously fucking broken), and I did encounter a lot of freezing and fucked up textures. Never played much of 2, but I remember having a ton of fun with 3.
Though I wish they had kept the original story for Origins, it was still a great game.

Every time I try, I quit at like the second last level. On Top of the World? Iron Hill? Something like that. Bigass temple and you ride the rocket thing.

Anyways, the one Lum cage I can never never figure out is the one in the fire mask dungeon. It's where you ride the plum down the huge lava flow, and at the end, you can turn around and look up and see the fucking cage on the ceiling with no possible way up there. What gives?

It was so long, and I didn't get to play it long-term because of my asshole brother lending my shit to other people without my permission. Hated when he did that. But forbid I play his Dreamcast without asking him. I forgot about it altogether but I know I loved 3 and the little homage to 1 which confirmed he was a kid at the time.

And the Rabbids pissed me off, because I thought we'd get an adventure and not some minigame collection. And even worse when it succeeded. All the Rabbids shit that came out afterward. Even with Origins and Legends it's still not enough. 3D Rayman is dead forever. That concept art from Rayman 4 hit me hard. We were gonna get Rayman 1 back into the mix in 3D.

I figure that Legends was overall easier, especially because of the groups of Lums that you collect, rather than the individual. Plus, being more familiar with the game/engine meant I was speedrunning as soon as I dropped into Legends.

Worst level is the retro level with the beanstalk and classical music, because of the jump you have to make near the near with two rows of lums that is incredibly easy to fuck over your run if you're off by a bit. I wasted an hour on that

Also, if Mosquito was back, I would love to see the bosses of Rayman 1 make an appearance.

I played some Rayman 3 a few days ago. Still a silly game with a nice soundtrack and some surprisingly fun combat. Those funkyboard levels were always fun too. I think the main Rayman series (1-3, Origins, Legends) is one of the few series that has been consistently good since my childhood.

Is it wrong of me to say Rayman 3 may have the most solid controls of any 3D platformer ever? It just works so damn well.

I'm so fucking pissed that the PC version of the first Rayman I got on GOG has 90% of the music taken out. And emulating it runs glitchy as fuck.

On Origins vs Legends I liked Legends better because while Origins was harder it was also a lot more annoying. You had to be extra careful and pick up every single little lum and at some point I just wasn't having fun.

Legends eased up on making me autistic and focused the challenge on moving quickly from point A to Point B.

That being said fuck the WiiU version for forcing me to be Murphy in single player. Boring and the Ai was stupid as all hell.
