It takes a bit to learn but it's from from a crazy complicated grand strategy. It's actually comfy because it's almost as bad as Civilization is with automation.
You can maximum comfy and just do things you want like manage ship designs or sit back and watch or you can hardcore and manually do everything.
I highly recommend youtube tutorials and grabbing the Distant Worlds:Extended mod.
Think about a less serious ETS.
You can buy stolen vehicles and gas.
You can be tricked into delivering drugs or weapons thinking they're something else.
You can treat your rivals using the radio.
Also the mafia can fuck you bad or work for you if you pay them.
Also you can work with cars, delievering shit with a BMW at 250 km/h is always fun.
Yeah dude, it's comfy as fuck. I like playing singleplayer just as much as multi because I can take more time to enjoy things instead of using it to coordinate with people.
Dark Souls or Fallout New Vegas
Just overall chill games to play.
pic related, or playing Civilization
IIon the second-lowest difficulty and dicking around with city management
Careful last comfy game thread got derailed with CP.
And you wouldn't want that now would we.....right?....
Best atmosphere on the saga.
Any game where I can hang out in a bunker/shelter safe from outside harm. New Vegas, STALKER, Left 4 Dead, etc. Bonus points if it's underwater. NV has a nice underwater house mod that I like.
God, I wish I lived in a bunker.
>You will never have a bunker out in the woods where you can spend the rest of your life in the wilderness
Spyro 1. It's not as good as the other two games, but I think its simplicity has a unique charm. Plus it's absolutely gorgeous when rendered in HD.
Used to be my go-to comfy before it got shittified.
The first house I built was a small base inside a big hole in a small, narrow mountain, with glass over the walls, and water flowing down. Fire through glass underneath for lighting and a view of the sea and sunsets.
I think the last time I touched it was 3 or 4 years ago. I don't even know anymore.
fuck off console peasant, PC mods will fix it
the terrible direction it went didn't have much influence on the comfiness in my opinion
All it really did was add a big bunch of crap you'll never end up using, with a few things that actually allow more options for nice/comfy builds
I still play it every few months when I need to relax
Its snowing guys, time to get super duper comfy over here.
I like Super Metroid for that same reason
>tfw every time you beat it you get a better time than you did on your last run
Tropico is also comfy for me
> Playing Civilization IV
> Watching your growing empire with pride
> Thinking about future challenges
> Suddenly, Rimsky-Korsakov
I don't play it anymore, but Children of the Nile was comfy as shit. The music just oozes comfiness to me. Slowly building up a metropolis on the fertile nile.
Course because I wanted to build big I had to choose ones where there were like +200 villagers. Sucked when you ran out.
I just replayed it after playing San Andreas, and it stuck out to me more than SA did
I play Skyrim loaded with survival mods and shit like that. Shooting a deer with a bow and dragging it back to the camp you established in the mountains around a roaring fire to cook it up and eat it is extremely comfy.
Makes me want a really good, realistic survival simulator in a primitive or semi-primitive setting.
Modded Skyrim is comfy as fuck, especially when you can set up your own campfires and tents. I loved playing as a full mage going around and delving into dwemer ruins, learning ancient spells and collecting daedric relics.
That game is 100% what you make of it.
Any puzzle game, really. Especially the Picross games, they're fucking addicting.
Dr. Mario is super-comfy, too. I can just zone out and play that for hours.
Throughout my childhood it was Banjo-Kazooie. Played on the N64 so much I broke my controllers.
While I'm looking for a replacement controller it's been Mario Kart 8 time trials with the Wiimote. Tilting is comfy
Still think this is the best game ever made, but that's just me. And the mods add a nice touch.
What the fuck, it got thumbnail sized, ahwell. Here's the pic.
Been playing a lot of CoD 4 lately, and sometimes when I'm playing Domination mode in that Ambush map, I'll go to one of the corners of the map away from all the fighting and just wait there in a bombed out building, hearing my team and the other team just fucking going at it off in the distance.
Feels really cathartic and fuck-comfy whenever I do something like that, like I'm in Band of Brothers or something
The hometown of the steeling bastards was the stuff. The manor was god-tier, too.
I want a true sequel for the wii U.
Wich will probably never happen
Beaten it more times than I can count, and I have more fun with it ever time
This and pic related. They just had that certain something, ya know?
Fuck yea, dude
My personal favorite team is Hadhod, Idrial, and Elegost
>Mfw stacking straight spirit then anally annihilating everything with Dragon, Horse, and Storm
Helms Deep is a fun one, it can be a tough son of a bitch though
>That last battle where Berethor edged the fuck out and you had to fight like 3 trolls and a shit ton of uruk-hai
Nothing like having a fucking stress attack sifting through several documents just to let one fucking terrorist in and then have to detain Jorgi for the twentieth time to take my mind off things.
Nearly all the outdoor environments were comfy as fuck, dat soundtrack too.
When I was a kid I played it with my older brother.
I sat in his lap and watched him play. saw the gunshop owner get eaten and was practically hiding under his jumper the whole time. i'd lift his drink with straw so he could keep playing without interruption. I was glad of the breaks to give him a drink because I was so scared.
But I guess being with my big bro I felt safe. cuddled up in his arms watching him play was great, up until the part with the licker crawling across the window. I flipped my shit and screamed. he paused and hugged my tight told me it'll be okay and he'd go kill it for me. I remember repeating codes for computers and safes so he could concentrate on the game.
I fell asleep after RCPD so I don't remember anything else after that, but playing it again makes me remember him since he died when I was still in school. I always go through the game on his birthday talking to myself as if he were there with me.
I'd say thing like; "don't worry bro, i'll get him this time." "4245, remember that for me bro". I'd talk about the newer RE games that come out as they do.
I've done this for the past 8 years. and will continue to do so.
>tfw spending hours creating perfect city and production layouts
>tfw spending hours creating imperfect layouts with decorations
>tfw playing where's waldo in your cities
>tfw 'you've been playing for 10 hours, perhaps it's time to take a rest'
I-I only play for the fap material later
Got so caught up I forgot the picture
It's a toss up between Jak and Daxter and Ape Escape
Dunno why, but the second Sly Cooper game feels more comfy than the others do.
i play it for hours and hours and forget life sucks
Fallout NV. Except anything with fucking cazadors.
>tfw librarian while trying to study
It's such a nice job, well until you're done studying/masturbating/eating and you get bored
WOODY GOT WOOD
I still haven't explored all the islands yet. So many nooks and crannies and the islands are all either comfiliy populated or abandoned/undiscovered with treasure to find and stories to boot. I don't think you could ever really finish playing this game.
burnout paradise. go into settings, turn off all music except for classical.
It becomes an entirely new game. A game about driving insanely fast and listening to classy music in a beautiful city.
i love just listening to podcasts or music, having a drink, and just drive
>going to make a snack
>sitting there with said snack and a drink while you see the sea and listen to the music
I might get insulted for this, but Far Cry 3.
I just walk around and hunt, don't matter if I don't need the material. I just decide on an animal I feel like hunting, choose the weapon and go look for it. I avoid conflict with the NPCs as much as possible and only hunt as much as I can.
if not Far Cry 3, then Just Cause 2 with HD Clouds, Superman and longer and faster grapple mod.
Optional and pretty shitty.
You build camps and place orders.
I got bored of banished after about 6 hours.
I loved Cities XL due to building a city without worrying about military and shit
Elite: Dangerous is my shit once i get a good rout going.
Not quite a game, but still beautiful
Splinter Cell series
I doubt anyone would understand, but sneaking around in the rain, hearing the banter between Lambert and Sam...it's just so...comfy
>dual screen monitor
>book on tape/pandora on one screen, euro truck on the other
>rain probability to 65%
>listening to a fantasy/adventure audiobook
>eating ham and eggs
I can 100% guarantee you there is nothing comfier
FF14 Eorzea is a really pretty and cozy world to fuck around and level up in. It's too bad that it's really more of a lobby then anything but the fates popping in and out are always nice. I enjoy walking about the areas and taking in the sights snapping screenshots etc. leveling up low level jobs.
If I have a lazy sunday I want to just burn and be useless piece of shit I'll get some nice whiskey (or tasty beer if traveling) and then just sort of flounder about in the world of eorzea. Do some shit level quests in a for fun job. Do some crafting leves, look out for world bosses. I've sort of gravitated away from the instanced stuff but I wish I could wander around in the dungeons without being in a dungeon.
Coerthas is the comfiest place especially if you get a vanity gear warm n cozy outfit.
Aaaaaand that's why I didn't know about Pandora.
Can't wait to do it all again but in glorious 3D with online that's smooth as loli butt.
I fucking loved banished for about 40 hours, I just with it had more variance in climates/terrain. That's really all I'd need for it to be incredibly replayable.
>subtropical landscape where people rarely burn fuel but keeping them cool is a challenge
>subarctic landscape where you only have a few months to grow things every year and it's deathly frigid, not just cold, in the heart of winter
Dark souls 2 while being in blue sentinel covenant. I feel cozy just chilling in random areas helping out some little fellas out from invaders. Naturally i keep you fellars open on the side while i wait to aid someone.
Dragon's Dogma is another one.
When I move back to mum's house, I've gotta set up my wheel and play a few trips at least.
Hopefully the desk I'll get will be enough to set the wheel I have up, rather than using this shitty little 63cm wide cuntofadesk.
Comfy is a retarded term.If you mean a game that i play when i don't want to stress myself then Vicky 2.
Y'all niggers don't know shit about comfy
I love these threads
they always get me to start playing euro truck again
Nigger please, I can only take so much comfy at once.
Every time I see someone mention AA2 I automatically think they're talking about America's Army 2.
Oh man Refinery was the shit. Get up in the break-room as defender and you were invincible.
>no one posted this yer
I am disappointed
>try playing this on toaster
>>no one posted this yer
Yermolayevs DO look pretty comfy. Dat gull wing tho
Mount & Blade: Warband
I can spend hours just zoning out, killing shit and dominating the map.
It's just so fucking good.
Oblivion. Just wandering through cyrodiil as a lone mage, doing random quests and traveling across the landscape whilst the soft soundtrack plays. Comfy as fuck.
>watch the intro
>listen to the stupid title screen music for like 10 minutes
>skip to one of the good ends
>play through the good end
I always feel better afterwords.
Every winter I snuggle up, light a pumpkin spice candle, and pop in Mafia II.
Driving around in the snow listening to oldies is fucking god tier.
luv u man, OJ is the best game. so cute, so fun.
I'm gonna take the leap of faith and say Skyrim for me because I can really dive into the aesthetics of this game. It has a god tier soundtrack too and I like the whole phenomenological approach of the game.
I guess saying Morrowind is more or less fine if it wasn't so terribly outdated in every single imaginable way.
my mutha fucking nigga, im playing through it now actually, also i get a comfy feel from playing the crash games
cormano is my nigga
gonna list a few more comfy games I like:
Persona 2 IS and EP because they have that comfy 90ies vibe within.
Disgaea 1 because damn, it's just so fucking nice to follow that story and the castle feels like home.
SMT Devil Summoner Raidou vs King Abbadon because fuck yeah, Narumi Detective Agency. I want Narumi to pour me some coffee and just live in that town for a year or so and work there and fuck girls and live in the past a bit.
>Disgaea 1 because damn, it's just so fucking nice to follow that story and the castle feels like home
God I hated to replay the story in a new game +. The mindless grinding was pretty comfy though.
Bully is the comfiest game.
What exactly makes a game comfy?
where's our autistic lords, give us the comfy formula.
if only there was something comparable they would do with the franchise nowadays.
all we got is cinematic bullshit with QTEs out the ass.
all I want is a 3D game as amazing as this. Curse of Darkness came close but there was no platforming and that's why it was lacking.
>Hunt in Tall Trees
>Sneakan through the snow lining up shots on elk
and running the fuck away from bears
>Collect enough pelts, antlers etc.
>Stroll back to the outpost
>Hop on the train
>Chill out and grab a drink while I ride down to Mexico
>Get off in Chuparosa
>Sell my pelts
>Spend my profits playing poker, blackjack and getting drunk with my hombres while the sun sets
Best game of the last gen
Sword of the Stars or
Aint nothing comfier than managing your own empire
after playing Skyrim I can't go back to this game because it feels so inferior. I play Shivering Isles every now and then though but fuck me if I have to revisit all these shitty forts with shitty loot inside it.
also, a TES game where nobody has any war paint? It's a fucking fashion crime.
I go with low level character around the land and when the night comes I go as fast as I can to the nearest camp/bonfire with people around it and stay with them all night afraid to go outside, but knowing that I'm a little bit safer with them (even if they are just diggers ready to run away when they see young scavenger)
DAMN I want a game with atmosphere like this (even Gothic remake) and a bit bigger world so I can discover it the same way. I want to feel THAT comfy
>telling your crew to shut up for a few seconds and just enjoy the sounds of the sea
I hope Rogue's sailing is this comfy.
I played Gothic 1 and 2 and finished both but seriously I'm glad the series is dead.
A lot of it really sucked ass. Also the hero voice actor was such a stupid fast talking retard. I wish they would have cast somebody authentic.
That's not how I do it man, just wander around from city to city doing guild requests, maybe a few side quests, admiring the scenery, K.O.-ing people with frost touch spells, just chill.
Stalker with the ultimate mod. I just use the mod because it adds the most comfy music to the game. Listening to that while it rains with you stalker bros is glorious. Despite that I still think Stalker has the best atmosphere of all time so it's comfy by default.
Power Projection. You get swordmana for having rivals and winning wars. At 25 swordmana you get an extra leader, at 50 swordmana you get +1 papermana +1 birdmana and +1 sabermana
You can and I did. I emulated it on dolphin sometime after twilight princess' release and played it like 1-3 hours a day on my laptop. Kept playing it so slowly and lazily like I would just wander around the sea and fill out the sea charts. I would get rupees and fight baddies on the islands. I joined the happy home commitee on windfall island and started putting flowers all over the city. I unlocked the photo box and started saving nice screenshots. I got all the hearts and beat the game. Then I found out about the color photobox and the figurine room. I got all the hearts on new game plus in the crayfish outfit and took photos of everyone in the game. I did everything there was to do in the game. I was a little sad when I checked forums and gamefaqs to find there was no more stuff to be done. I was in the latter half of college when I started and then started working a full time job and moved into a new city and my own place when I "beat" it.
I was sort of down but now it's like an old friend I can go visit
the best part is I can start a new save and we can do it all over together like when times were tough. The only difference is things is good now.
>all the control schemes on the keyboard
>the whole stupid fucking hard-ass douchebag mentality of everybody living in this place of G1 and G2.
>getting killed too quickly
you can like it all you want. it's not for me though.
This for sure.
It might seem weird but I find the likes of STALKER and The Void very comfy
I was fucking around with high FOV. I don't take much screenshots.
Europa Universalis 3
I just wasted around 2~3 hours on it, just enjoying some albums of my favorite band while going to war with my neighbors, managing my sliders and killing rebel scum. It was relaxing.
Holy Shit! Is this how the happening will look like when it finally happens?
Megaman Legends, Castlevania:SotN, Ffviii... Ps1 games really comfy me right the fuck out.
>fan is on, purrs like a cat
>in bed with laptop and tuckered in blankets
>found some pictures of my brother and I in said laptop
There's no better feel
>MUH GAMEPAD / TOO MUCH KEYS ON KEYBOARD
>yes, but in G2 it's fixed
>Hard-ass douchebag mentality in prison locked forever? Strange thing m8
>muh Skyrim muh killing dragons after 20 mins of gamplay
My ideal comfy game would be a huge open world, or a huge city and just drive. Ubisofts making that but I don't know how it'll turn out.
I liked ETS2, but I want a city with sites to see.
The main guy behind Gran Turismo wanted to do that with GT5, but due to limitations.
I'm hoping ubisoft won't fuck it up but knowing them.
Conkers Bad Fur Day
Super mario bros on nes.
Reminds me of a time where everything was good.
>mfw every chibi robo after the first one
No franchise was raped as much as Chibi Robo.
>No franchise was raped as much as Chibi Robo.
Phew, that's a load off!
Muh nigga. I can pop that shit on hardcore and skate the same handrail or gap for ages.
I've spent somewhere around 20 hours only skating the ledges at PJ's house in Skate 1. The soundtracks in 1 and 3 are so good.
>tweak the settings for infinite gas and money
>turn off cops and sleepiness
>convert about 8 hours of music to .ogg and move them into the game folder
>fuck the missions
>just keep on riding
>ride it all day and all night
>no worries, everything is beautiful
This and FUEL.
Just ride. Forever, and ever and ever.
Forget the racing. Forget the barrel collecting.
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Add some jazzy music or night drive music. Maximum comfy.
>there will never been SH trilogy HD remake on the ps3/4
Silent Hunter III GWX has to be one of the comfiest games of all time.
>That soft rolling
>Those comfy storms
>That comfy crew talking around you
>Listening to Tipperary while stalking the North Sea
My comfy game I would say is GTA SA's SAMP mod. I have this one server that averages 15 people at most and the rest of the time its 6ish regulars. I just really like driving around in the map big fan of using all the cars too I can drive anything in GTASA and not get bored. Just listening to the radio with random comfy chat with the regulars.
>The publishers who have the IP rights only make casino slot machines in Japan
>The developers were disbanded
Megaman battle network 3. The ending still makes me cry.
I can't even play the original animal crossing anymore, it's so comfy for me it unearths too many good memories of my childhood. I just can't do it /v/. Everything is shit. Balamb garden when
Got so much experience on Singed he's now my comfy pick and a guaranteed win as long as my team isn't feeding.
I know all the matchups, all the right moves at the right times without having to think much about it.
<s> with a graphic tablet </s>
i love the feeling of hitting a full deathstream 100% and after a while my fingers and pen hand hurting because of doing well in multiplayer. listening to the Fez soundtrack and getting S's. so comfy.
Planetside 2 was my go-to comfy game for a long time, basically until they nerfed the Crown. I could log on at any point in the day and there'd be a Crown fight.
>tfw pulling an all-nighter and posting up with your Carv at the Crown
Fuck SOE for nerfing the Crown, I haven't played PS2 since they did that
Ah.. well.. then.. hm.
Red Orchestra 2, but not Rising Storm.
Rising Storm is fast paced and brutal.
Whereas Red Orchestra 2 is steady paced and brutal. The atmosphere is subtle but there.
The random things the characters mutter in mid battle is just perfect.
Shells flying, everyone dying around you, incoming fire.
Or hundred meters out from the action, looking down a sniper scope and picking off hiding enemies one at a time watching their confusion as their friends drop.
It all matches up to be comfy to me.
Which is weird, because it's a multiplayer game. Either way I enjoy it.
Taunts are pretty funny too. Taunting enemies in the same building and hearing them taunt back is great.
New Vegas. I feel so fucking at home in the Mojave. Walking down those quiet, deserted roads at night, exploring those abandoned factories to that old ass music
Even punching a Legionnaire's fucking head off feels cozy as fuck.
City of Heroes.
>implying it gets any comfier
i played this game till I had 10 universal traders and was raking in 1 million every 5 minutes and had 100 million in the bank then it got extremely boring and i stopped playing
