>good taste in anime
>good taste in video games
>good comedic timing
Why are they so based? Who is your favorite?
>trying to enforce "on-topic" shit on /v/
>implying Mega64 a "video game centered sketch group" isn't related to video games
Hey guys I'm like 28, but I will act like an edgy 16 year old.
never been to reddit, don't care to
guess since you've been here all of this week you wouldn't really know that people call each other nerds as a joke because we're all nerds here
but I digress, your e-celeb shittery doesn't belong on /v/ and the janitors agree
>friends with hideo kojima
I wasn't aware that the pronoun "we" was exclusive to reddit
you sure showed me
I like Mega64 for their sense of humor, I own their Blu-Ray, but you have to be an idiot to think they have good taste in vidya. Derrick is te only one who comes close.
Remember, Rocco hates Majoras Mask an thinks it's okay to play Metal Gear out of order.
>This entire segment was improv
>just bought a bunch of goth clothes at hot topic with no actual idea what they were going to do
>show up and piss of tons of Firefall fans taking the stream seriously who didnt know who Mega64 was
the actual video wasn't very funny though, it's just that they pissed people off.
The main problem with their videos for the past few years is that they've kind of forgotten why they were funny in the first place, doing half assed skits as well as making their improv just about annoying people.
Originally the comedy was derived from just dressing up like a video game character and seeing all the people who just didn't get it flip out.
Stuff like RE4, where they realistically weren't bothering anyone but the police got involved.
They've even said in panels that if someone comes up to them and says they know who they're supposed to be, that's guaranteed not to make the video.
It's because we as people who recognize video games find it funny how people of the public are oblivious to it and how silly the entire situation is.
Now look at videos like Beyond Two Souls.
No one could be expected to recognize who they were supposed to be.
Worse yet they actually were actively annoying people by banging on counters and shit.
How are we supposed to find that funny?
I disagree, I didn't see much appeal in it.
There were a few awkward moments that looked like they'd be good but it's pretty forgettable all in all.
Their cosplayerz is just about the only thing that hits home nowadays.
>please stop discussing the thread topic!
but that's the thing, even by knowing about Beyond Two Souls I could never figure that's what they are doing when they're wandering around knocking tables.
I could if they were dressed up as guys from hotline miami or a collosus or RE4 merchant or anything like that even if the costume is pretty garbage.
That for me is why the original stuff was so damn good.
People would flip out for no reason just because they were confronted with a guy in a costume.
In the newer videos, they are flipping out for a perfectly valid reason.
Being in on the joke wouldn't make getting a guy bang the table you're trying to serve people at any funnier.
I have been on both sides of the Evangelion debate so many times I no longer know which side I'm actually on.
have you ever considered that maybe I am a comedic barometer and you just have a shit opinion?
if you want a hugbox there are plenty of places of refuge for you.
Try youtube comments.
>No they didn't.
is this a joke?
>got the cops called on you for standing outside a store and repeating phrases to people
>got security called for sexual harassment when you repeated phrases while wearing a fish hat
they were about getting reactions out of people who didn't know what the character was from.
Flipping out might be a bit of an exaggeration but that's certainly the trend and certainly where their best material is.
As I said, of course they edit out any time someone says they get it or approach them knowingly.
That it is just average, it uses Christian terms to hand-wave away story/logic/rational problems, and that its actual impact was in the product distribution rights side of the story (where companies learned the money that figures and posters will make)
It is the greats animu ever because it is so deep and shit.
