the actual video wasn't very funny though, it's just that they pissed people off.
The main problem with their videos for the past few years is that they've kind of forgotten why they were funny in the first place, doing half assed skits as well as making their improv just about annoying people.
Originally the comedy was derived from just dressing up like a video game character and seeing all the people who just didn't get it flip out.
Stuff like RE4, where they realistically weren't bothering anyone but the police got involved.
They've even said in panels that if someone comes up to them and says they know who they're supposed to be, that's guaranteed not to make the video.
It's because we as people who recognize video games find it funny how people of the public are oblivious to it and how silly the entire situation is.

Now look at videos like Beyond Two Souls.
No one could be expected to recognize who they were supposed to be.
Worse yet they actually were actively annoying people by banging on counters and shit.
How are we supposed to find that funny?

In the newer videos, they are flipping out for a perfectly valid reason.
Being in on the joke wouldn't make getting a guy bang the table you're trying to serve people at any funnier.
