No, most that you could say is that they don't make new IPs often. The usual series (Mario, Metroid, etc.) are used in different settings and gameplay types across many games over time, so you can't just say it's the same thing every time like something like The Sims or Assassin's Creed. Yes, new IPs would be nice, but they keep things varied and fun enough at the moment to still buy and enjoy.

Their gimmicks keep them good as actual game consoles instead of, as the Bone and PS4 are, sub-par gaming PCs, home media systems, and livestreaming devices frankenstein'd together in a VCR case.

My experience tells me the opposite. The only non-publisher-produced refund I've received without bullshit and contacting the developer support was Angry Pirds on iPhone.
