Hoping for:

- Both male and female protagonist
- Social links have an affect on character interactions outside of the actual social link (different dialogue between characters etc.)
- Bigger more open city to explore that feels more alive
- All personas have new updated artwork and models instead of old shin megami tensei ones
- Dungeons are more fun and complex instead of just an endless series of repetitive corridors
- Only small references to past games (brief character cameo, small easter egg etc.)
- Enemies are more varied instead of just pallet swaps
- Gay/lesbian relationships (not too bothered about)
- Reason to carry on interacting with completed social link characters by having things such as bonus events and so on.
- stats like courage and knowledge play a bigger role throughout the game and have more events and mechanics associated with them such as courage allowing for more critical hits in combat or something along those lines.

The PSP releases for P1/2 aren't listed on p-ch.jp despite being more recent than the original Persona 3 and 4 which are older games. Did you play Persona 3? It was like despite the fact that it only allowed control for one character, it was faster (allowing for more attacks), integrated job class changes to deal with the situations, and integrated buffs and debuffs. FF13 used Persona 3's battle system and expanded on it to make it faster, allow for more attacks, change class jobs more often and integrated buffs and debuffs even more.

Labrys kind of breaks the whole "Aigis was the last of her kind" by saying "except she is not". Plus there was the fact that she stopped running despite the fact that the people trying to catch her were either going to kill her, force her to fight in worse conditions, or lock her away forever. She wasn't exactly the brightest character in P4A.

No the job classes that the other characters had. Like telling Mitsuru to go and heal, Aigis to go beserk mode, and telling Ahkihiko to cast nothing but debuffs at the enemy, etc. They were like Commando, Medic, Synergist, etc. from FF13.

A lot of JRPGs out there don't integrate Buffs and Debuffs to be something that has to be used to win the game. A lot of times, I have come across the "attack, attack, attack, Heal" method of enemies that bothers the shit out of me.

Persona 3 and FF13 make sure you can't win with just that method. Even against normal enemies.

All I'm saying is, basically throwing out everything in the first two games makes for a very disjointed series. Why aren't there Shadows in P1/2 nor demons in P3/4? On my first playthrough I was CONVINCED that Ken was going to die. He had a few flags for it in my mind, the only weapon drop he was getting was the cross spear and his persona stopped learning abilities really soon after gaining him.

I find it funny people rag on P3 and P4 for being easy when P2 is so much easier. The Persona 2 duology are some of the easiest jRPGs I've ever played. I actually died in 3 and 4

P1's SEBEC quest was fairly easy too, save Pandora, but she's the final fucking boss. Can't vouch for Snow Queen Quest.

P1 and P2 characters got powers directly from Philemon, so summoning is easier and they can switch. Philemon lost a lot of power after Eternal Punishment. In P3 and P4, the characters gain their powers themselves, without Philemon giving it to them. It's a lot harder to do it that way.
