Underrated gems that people have never played.
pic related, it's a middle ground between a Total War game and an Europa Universalis one.
atmospheric as fuck, clever writing, feels like playing GTA with a sprinkle of Hitman in a sci-fi setting with robots.
come on faggots, post some games

How is it compared to Stronghold?
Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns/Ahriman's Gift
It features innovations such as upgradeable buildings (think of HoMM) instead of microing workers to build everything and units handled as companies (4 front line units of the same type, 2 backline units that can also be special support units, and a commander) instead of individuals. That kind of features reduce non-decision micro significantly and pay way to more advanced mechanics not typically seen in RTS. Kohan itself has morale system, simple supply system, moderately robust movement rules/formation system and so forth, but there's a lot of room for improvement beyond that, too. For whatever reason Kohan never made a splash, though, and then the genre kicked the bucket.

Stronghold is more like a typical RTS with extensive castle building. Their only similarities is that they're both set in medieval age.

Yeah, I usually hate RTSes, but Kohan is one of the few I like without question, the other being Rise of Nations
I wouldn't say that no over has played it but i never see people talking about it. Inmomentum really relaxing and fun platformer. The maps are simplistic and pleasant to look at but there really isnt a whole lot of maps though.

Outside of /v/, sure.
Everyone's played it here though.

>Everyone's played it here though.

>>248642697GM aged horribly
>>248643371

>>248642697
Muh nigga.
>>248643326
You're right, it used to be one of /v/'s "must play" games.
Nobody cares anymore.
Sad times.
>>248642871
I impulse bought this cause of matthewmatosis. No regrets.
It's a Commandos/Desperados type of game, but those are (arguably) more popular while this one rarely gets the spotlight. Still a pretty great game, making isometric stealth actually work.
>>248639025
I think this was pretty well known im central Europe.
Not THAT great, however.
>>248643818
>Not THAT great, however.
nigga it's the best shiny video game.
dat voice acting
dat atmosphere
dat choice of what levels to pursue and customization of your army
It was great and it was doing the rpg/rts shtick way before Warcraft 3

Man, Stronghold was my favourite game when I was a wee lass. Yet I still never completed the military campaign, always got stuck on that one where you have to siege The Pigs place. I should play it again, now that I'm not 10~ I could probably finish it.

I made this video right for this kind of thread guys.

I find it mindblowing that this game was released in 2000 and still looks good 14 years later. It's not just due to the un-aging art direction - the game has unusually complex models, high display and texture resolutions and ridicilous map size and draw distance for a 3D game released in 2000.
It's a shame the game was "too weird" for the mainstream audience. Despite being a high quality game with a lot of unique ideas at the time, it bombed in sales due to bad marketing and the developer has made nothing but shitty movie games for easy cash ever since.
>>248644045
It's aged a little worse than you think. I played it recently, like 6 months ago for the first time. Fun, but has pacing issues and is generally a bit weak on the story side of things.
Enjoyable though.
>>248643808
That shit was great yo
why are slavshits so good at making and modding games?
>>248644139
I didn't know there was a Nintendo 64 version of Unreal Tournament
>>248646158
Because they are poor. When devs are poor, they tend to make good games
Perimeter, fun comfy rts.

It was the best. Fuck, it still is.
>>248643808

>>248646812
But it's a PC exclusive.
>>248644447
I've had Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader for years and years now, and I've never bothered to play the campaign. I always play Skirmishes or multiplayer.
>>248641871
I had fun with it, but lack of dev support killed it and I moved to defrag.
>over 100 different spells, 1/4 of them is missable
>nice balance between puzzles and combat
>big, long levels
>decent graphics
>awkward controls
>working but unbalanced multiplayer
>>248638837
Shit, man, I wish it was available to get from steam/gog, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
