This made me realize something /v/.

There comes a point where a piece of media becomes too expensive, too developed, takes too long to make.

This is why E3 was shit, because games now cost so much money and take so long to make that there are barely any to show.

Games need to step back, lower their budgets, return to the golden age of smaller teams and more limitations so that creativity may flourish through them. I'd rather a good game that tries to be something specific than all these modern, bland pieces of shit that take a hundred gig of harddrive space, the same fucking mechanics and short, boring stories all because graphics and marketing have gotten way out of hand.

Every fucking game series is becoming this pic related and every new IP is being modeled after this. Fuck you all who blindly support this series. These aren't games with gameplay they are lazy, low difficulty 3rd person shooters that play themselves and the "gameplay" is filler between the the characters make more quips and more cinematic bullshit you don't control.

This is easily the most boring trailer out of the entire event so far. It reminds me of Horizon: Zero Dawn, only with a protagonist who's a thousand times less interesting and an environment that's a thousand times less creative. Not that Horizon's world was entirely new, it at least wasn't a post-apocalyptic zombie world. Surprisingly nothing really happens in here either, and the title of the game is just as uncreative as it looks.

How the fuck do you find decent real life friends to talk about and play video games with?

Nothing I play alone feels fun for long anymore, and when I try to think of a game that I would really get excited for nothing comes to mind.
At this point I'm starting to think it might be nice to have a group of friends to play games with,
but I doubt I could ever find some that I could get long with.

I come to /v/ every year around e3 to see what's up and every single fucking year you all say that everybody lost and gaming is dead.

What exactly do they have to do for acclaim from you? I know I'm speaking to a group, but what specifically from your point of view would make for a good E3 from Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or the others? Or what made the conference so awful?
