Yeah, I expected as much...
She is the Gohan of universe 6, so she needs to be hyped and failed somehow (at least that's how I always remember the impression of Gohan).

On the bright side (at least for me), this means Caulifla is even more likely to be U6's Goku and has a good chance to stand till the end.
Plus, the new ending shows Goku and Gohan together, which I also take as implication that Caulifla and Kale will in the end fight together, so there is still hope.

I just wish Cualifla and Kale has a fusion or something.

Although in Frieza's defense it is repeatedly stated in lore that his clan is especially powerful for his species. And Frieza himself is stronger than the rest of his clan, so it's a litte believable with him.

But other characters like 17 what's his explanation? Ranging the hell out of that park?

Regardless it's frustrating to see no explanation given but I'm glad that at the very least most characters aren't being left behind.

Besides we don't fully know how strong Caulifla was before transforming so there's that. Plus she's the Goku of U6 a natural protege. It's not much of an explanation but I'm still glad she's in the show. I hope her and Kale survive.

The explanation is that Toriyama is lazy, forgetful, and tends to improvise, rather than plan out. Fortunately, he does have a tendency to make strong female characters. There are VERY few recurring females in the DB franchise that would be considered "weak".

Yeah, people are always going to be more critical of female characters but there's this obsession in the fandom with power levels and portraying Goku as the strongest character in fiction.

Unfortunately power levels as the fandom perceives them just don't make for compelling storytelling.

Evolution makes the most sense. Pan and Bra never went super saiyan because they were living in a time of peace so it wasn't necessary for them to learn. If we apply this to U6 saiyans who were living at peace with their planet never getting destroyed unlike U7 who saiyans were killed ones they became stronger and had their planet deatroyed then we can say they never needed their Ozaroo form causing them to lose their tails. Tails aren't what makes you go SS, it just affects the great ape form.

Now back tingles. I guess you can just theorize that since tails were connected to the spinal core all you need to do is focus your ki into it. They could have used a different wording though I guess.

If you look at it one way, the tails are symbolic of Saiyan savagery. The Great Apes cause nothing but chaos and destruction and the good Saiyans repeatedly got rid of their tails once they saw the kind of damage it caused. The Saiyans from Sadala are heroes so they don't need them anymore.

Toriyama also said in one of his Shonen Jump interviews that the tail becomes a liability once a Saiyan reaches a certain level of strength and that's why Vegeta's never grew back. I like to think the threshold for that is ~20,000 since that's where Vegeta was after his fight with Goku.

Tails are completely useless once you've unlocked Super Saiyan anyway since it's a far greater multiplier.
