There isn't really that much yuri this month compared to previous months, it's just there are a lof of releases from YH.

It has an actual kiss between mc and her friend. After that the mc takes care of an alien born from an egg and her friend thinks she impregnated mc with that kiss and said she'll take responsibility.

They used to do yuri before they went to the dark side. I don't have any of their faceless man het stuff, though.

And there are some cute NL couples. They don't contradict with the yuri pairs.

Not that one. Though, they did say they were planning a het doujin.

And this one
https://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=54185449
That's just SoL stuff.
>>
>>2350717
I'm really sorry to break it to you, but 彼氏持ち合同本 means that it's a collab book about them having boyfriends.
https://www.melonbooks.co.jp/detail/detail.php?product_id=140530
The description here says that it's about μ’s and A-RISE talking about their respective boyfriends.

I'll give you the Idolmaster x LL one though. I think some of the LLS ones might be safe too.
But her LL only books are all not /u/-related (except for artbooks).
>>
Could someone please check my Japanese. I wanted to ask an artist if a doujin they are selling on Melonbooks was completely yuri because it wasn't tagged as yuri
すみませんですが、この本は全部百合ですか?
メロンから買って思ったけど百合タグがありません
>>
>>2350704
There's about enough chapters out already for a 3rd volume
>>
>>2350725
You know, you're right. That warning is referring to the next doujin they were planning to make with the help of other people. But, that one with the TsubasaHono cover is still het. I didn't realize it at first, because the first few pages of the doujin are Tsubasa stalking and crushing on Honoka, and I must have stopped reading there when I first got it. Because a few pages later it shows Honoka with her boyfriend.

Yeah, that artist is really bad. I should have paid more attention to what I was buying.
>>
>>2350748
By the next doujin they're planning to make, are you referring to "彼氏持ち合同本を頒布予定です"? That just means that they plan(ned) on distributing the depicted book at the LL doujin event.
There's bound to be a few bad apples if you have so many doujins. I just happen to know that artist's doujins fairly well because they get used a lot to troll threads on 2ch.

That statement is in the future tense and he was talking about distributing books under his other group name, Clochette, which Sentimental StorieS is not. So I assumed he was talking about this series of doujin (pic related).
>>
>>2350777
Yes, future tense because when they posted the preview on pixiv the event hadn't been held yet. But they're referring to the book with the TsubaHono cover.
In this case they wrote 【お09】「Clochette」 because お09 is the location of their space and Clochette the circle name under which they registered for the event. At doujin events both are written on the tables. Once you have a space you can sell books by other circles too (which is why they didn't need an extra space for their other circle).

So I've been thinking about buying some Taizai figures, and am kind of confused.

According to this website Asmo is 1/8 scale
https://solarisjapan.com/products/the-seven-deadly-sins-asmodeus-1-8-shinyaku-jashinzou-kourin-no-daiza-ban-orchid-seed
but on J-List it says she's 1/7 scale.
https://jlist.com/category/toys/figures/pre8573?___store=jlist&acc=433

They appear to be the exact same figure, but the one on Solaris is a bit cheaper. If anyone knows the reason for the inconsistency, please tell.
>>
>>2351497
If you go to the maker's website you can see that the scale is 1/8, so it's most likely an error on J-List. Their prices are usually pretty high.
It's also only the regular version (different base) on J-List, which makes it even more expensive than it should be.
>>
>>2351511
Thanks for the info.
I've heard J-List marks their shit up.
It does look like they have they Seven Virtues Michael with the light-up stand which is over 200 bucks.
>>
>>2351523
Just a quick follow-up question, what store do /u/ (or if anyone from /a/ or /jp/ is here) generally use for figures? I've used Hobby Search and Hobby Link Japan in the past. Is Solaris Japan any good?
>>
>>2351339
1 is volumes 1, 2 and half of the chapters from 3.
2 is the other half of 3, volumes 4 and 5.
>>
>>2351587
So it's only two books?
How does it handle cover art?

>6/17 夕凪マーブレット完全版 by Momono Moto

Looks like another retailer semi-exclusive from Momono Moto. She is one of my weaknesses so I immediately ordered it without even looking to see what it was.

Anyone ever experience how amazon.co.jp handles allocating pre-order stock in a delayed bulk shipment when one of the items permanently goes out-of-stock before it starts shipping? I re-ordered the Apron & Kase-san special blu-ray bundle with it to save on shipping but now I'm considering paying for separate shipping in case it inevitably goes out of print in the month between its release date and the Kase-san bd's.

Absolutely buying these:
エクレア blanche
やがて君になる(4)
犬神さんと猫山さん 6

Anyone have input on these? I am undecided:
私の百合はお仕事です! 1 leaning towards yes
明日、きみに会えたら 1 cute mystery yuri is almost a definite yes
ときめく、はじめての。Looks kind of cute
ふあふわ白書 The title alone says this is a safe bet at the very least
ホームズさんは推理ができない 1 Holmes stuff with yuri sounds fun although the yuri looks light
貝とオルタナロック The first few chapters are still really boring but I want to like it
>>
>>2352090
>私の百合はお仕事です!
Pretty good. Nice characters, and although the start is slow, I found the last chapter one of the best in the new Yuri Hime.

>明日、きみに会えたら
Also pretty good, but this one is talked about alot, so there's nothing to add.

Actually pretty fun, even though the first chapter looks boring. Yuri is pretty light, but it's there, and there's a story forming up as of late. Just buy it for the comedy, as the mystery are always stupid.

Another good mystery/supernatural series. To be honest I think it's quite unfair that YH has been getting a lot of flack while some of their new serialization are damn good. And yuri manga direly lacks series which also explores this genre (mystery/sci-fi/supernatural) so it's all the more welcomed.

>>2356580
appear to love it*
>>2356581
Retard cries about SoL and says they can only be entertained by what children love, Shounenshit and bland "muh adventure" badly constructed world plots. People tell them to fuck off, they get offended.
>>
>>2356591
The problem is saying that making something an action or adventure story makes it not bland and generic by default, what is a lie. It suffers from exactly the same things a SoL story does. So that might be your preference, but that was not what you implied.
>>
>>2356591
More than one person told you off, so I have no idea what you're on about. Let me fix it for you:

The guy trying to insist adventure is the greatest thing ever made can't handle when people say it's over played, so he shits up threads and throws hissy fits when he doesn't get his way.
>>
>>2356598
Is this ACK?

Is ACK chuuni on top of his major malfunctions?
>>
>>2356601
What I meant is that most action stories are generic by itself. Being Yuri wouldn't change it. For example, I would be happy with a well written Yuri action manga. I disliked that shitty battle royale Yuri Hime had last year because of how stupid it was, though. So making it different doesn't make it better.

Fact is, most Yuri authors are better writing romance/SoL stories than any other genres. I still like things like Murcielago or HSL, though. But those are stories the authors felt comfortable in doing, not something they were forced to, like that battle royale one.

And seriously. If Sword Art Online had a female protagonist and it was yuri, it wouldn't change how shit it is.

A subgenre about girlxgirl romance mainly explores girls interacting romantically. Go figure.

Amazon JP, right? It's my first time buying from it and I wanted to know if I have to set a special IP address or something. No special IP or anything unless you are doing kindle/digital purchases. Everything else works exactly like every other country's version of amazon. There's even a toggle to put the site in english under the search bar.

>>
>>2374265
If you're going very soon, you could swing by Melon Books to see if they still have any copies with special extras left, but most of the "specialty" shops will sell them. Specialty shops: ZIN, Tora no Ana , Animate, Gamers and K-Books -- all of these (plus Melon) have pretty good locations in Akiba, as well as useful supplementary locations in either Shinjuku, Ikebukuro or both.

ZIN often has a small perpetual extra, like a small postcard or photocopied leaflet (dunno if this is true for YagaKimi). Mandarake sometimes has old copies with special extras; some authors don't like it when you buy used, but eh.

I believe most of the above-mentioned stores now have some kind of cross-publisher yuri section too (not sure about Gamers?). ZIN doesn't exactly, but ZIN is small and its selection favors yuri anyway.

Third and final volume of Sayonara Giulietta came out.

With yuri serialization that would need several volumes to tell their stories properly, unfortunately more often than not they get cancelled with too few, so I'm used to rushed endings, but in this case it had too much to wrap up, so the last chapters reveal a bunch of twists and end on a cliffhanger.

Speaking of cancellations, HiBaNa, the magazine which After Hours ran in has announced its next issue will be the last and apparently After Hours will be ending. Vol 2 of After Hours is only just about to be released, after being delayed for some time due to low sales of vol 1, so that seems like it may leave a vol 3 in a precarious position.

Suruga-ya keeps restocking the books I add to my watch list at a way higher price than old, obscure yuri fanbooks usually are. I get the distinct feeling I'm being specifically taken advantage of and am putting their kids through college.

It doesn't even matter. Morinaga Milk was clearly lost on the first volume already. It doesn't really follow a story, just some random cases. And yuri is pretty weak.

Yuri author, probably Morinaga Milk, since I bought all titles Seven Seas brought. In general, I have no idea, but I bought 11 volumes of Centaur's Worries, so maybe that.

I just recently started to buy japanese books because my Japanese is not that good, and I hardly stick with one author only.
>>
>>2378224
Yuru Yuri + Oomuro-ke. I have all the limited editions except one or two that are really expensive for some reason. Probably over $300 for all of those by now with 18 volumes plus I have a few of her art books and other stuff.

I also had to hunt down a lot of Morishima Akiko's out of print books at extra cost. Worth it to have them all.

A lot of authors would be in the lead just because they have long series like Virgin's Empire (12) and Murcielago (10) but I have almost over 300 yuri tanks so I don't really care who is in the lead. I just want more yuri.

I haven't been in a long time, but in ~07-09 the denden town area around nipponbashi was decent. It looks like there are still a bunch of specialty shops like Tora no Ana, Melonbooks, K-Books, Lashinbang, etc in the area so probably still worth a look. Most of them seem to still be on the alley with a red line down it, but it looks like a few are scattered about nearby so I'd recommend wandering around a bit. Mandarake Nanba was also worth a look back then, no idea what it's like now and it's not that near to everything else so I'd probably hit up denden first.

Anyone who knows a bit more about クロユリ学園大奥学科http://natalie.mu/comic/news/213559? I could only find chapter 4 and 5 yet (download restriction on ch3), MAL listed it as Shoujo Ai and Harem https://myanimelist.net/manga/104099/Kuroyuri_Gakuen_Ooku_Gakka. I took a quick look into 4 and 5 and it looks...lewd. The author's pixiv had a yuri molestation/mindbreak oneshot (still, with faceless dudes on the train)... There are currently 7 chapters out I think, but it's difficult to find more about it.

This is what I'm getting so far

>8/3 犬神さんと猫山さん 6
>8/18 オトメの帝国 12
>8/23 ひまわりさん 8
>8/26 かなえるLoveSick 2

Last month I think I bought about 15-20 new yuri so this is a relatively light month for me. I'm going to take this chance to load my order up with old releases and stuff I hesitated on getting.

Worthy of note from last month is the Kase-san BD + Manga bundle which is really amazing and priced surprisingly cheap. Buy it so they can afford to make an anime series.

It might be a lost cause but:
I tried to buy the JeanneDere. doujin (http://danbooru.donmai.us/pools/12653) using CDJapan's proxy service, but it got declined for some reason (I don't think it's R-18, so I don't have idea of why)... and since Melonbooks and Toranoana are full japanese, I don't know if they ship internationally (and honestly, I'm kinda scared of buying there).
So my point is, should I give up buying this doujin? or should I keep trying (in this case, recommendations of where would be very appreciated, since it's just 1 doujin)?

Thank you in advance.

8/9 私と彼女のお泊まり映画 2
8/25 きっと彼女は神様なんかじゃない
8/25 ことのはアムリラート
8/26 ガレット No.3

The thing I'm really waiting for is out next month though.

It's not author but the publisher. And author didn't remove the yuri, the main story just set up before they hook up. It's a compromise the made, I guess.
I think it's a very relaxing manga and I find gags funny as well. Would definitely recommend.

I specifically put it in a separate order in case of delays. Maybe I'm paranoid.

>A magical girl parody? Is it actual yuri or just gag yuri?
You could call it a magical girl parody. The main character is a mazoku who needs to defeat a magical girl to lift the magic seal on her family.

It's not really gag yuri, except on the 2ch threads. Most people around here would probably classify it as subtext. I thought the story, art, and relationship between Shamiko and Momo just got better and better over the first two volumes, so I'm really looking forward to the third.

The extras depend on what edition and where you buy it from. The limited edition comes with a theme song CD, drama CD, and some sort of compilation of rough drawings/character setting documentation.
http://sukerasparo.com/sp005/index.html

The various stores selling it have their own extras.
http://sukerasparo.com/sp006/index.html

Amazon ships all ages games outside of Japan now, so that's probably the easiest way to get it. You can, of course, use proxy services to get it from other places (links on the page above).

Has anyone else ever noticed this?

Top is the Seven Seas English version and bottom is the Japaneses tank version. Notice how the original Japanese version is cropped by over 15% on the left.

Why is this? Is there a Japanese version that's not over cropped? Is the English localization really the best quality option that's out there?

It seems that the only version that's over cropped is the Japanese tank release. Which makes it pretty useless.

That said. Does anyone happen to know which volume of Comic High the second chapter of Girlfriends was in? There are two cases a color pages. In chapter 2 and 11. Chapter 11 was in volume 37. Problem being, that the neither the Seven Seas version or the Japanese tanks have those color pages. And I want to do high resolution scans for the release I'm doing.

They actually had the guts to make Galette 3 even more expensive than 1 and 2, by almost 200 yen. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the most expensive magazine in the history of manga magazines.

Is Mook through Amazon really the only way to order this in paper form? If it didn't look so legit I'd be convinced this was a scam already.
>>
>>2401308
The printed version is over cropped as fuck.

Someone posted some comparison scans a while back.
http://archive.loveisover.me/u/thread/2335862/#2337989

It's actually more worth it just to get the digital version.
>>
>>2401320
I buy everything on paper for various reasons, an important one being to stay out of the DRM circus, but also because it's simply much more comfortable to read.

But as much as I appreciate the magazine itself, that cropping issue is simply depressing, especially at this price point. (Which is kind of understandable perhaps when you think about it, without a publisher backing any of it)

Well, thanks for the info, I'll sleep on it for a bit.
>>
>>2401348
If the page surface is what you're paying for, and 20% of the page is missing due to cropping issues, it's like you're getting scammed 20% more on top of how Galette is already expensive.
>>
>>2401348
I agree that hardcopy is more comfy, but the "DRM circus" does not actually pose that much of a problem at the moment.

After many many years I finally ordered my first batch of manga. I only got volumes 2 and 3 of Hana and Hina cause the first volume was crazy expensive, I'm going to try to get it somewhere else cheaper, but if I can't find it cheap I'll just pay a ton for it. I was really excited to find the Gido collection pretty cheap I really love the first story and Forever Girls.
I knew I really wanted some Itou Hachi, but I didn't know what so I just got one of the collections. Ribbon Warrior is pretty gay so I decided to include it in the picture as well. I love its art so I decided to get a couple volumes, I don't know if I will ever finish the set because there are a ton of volumes, but maybe someday.

I want to get more but I am not sure what to get, it is also hard to find old manga at reasonable (shipping) prices. Hard for me anyway, but I think I might be a cliche and get Girlfriends and maybe Kase-san as well. I also really really want some Morishima Akiko.
Sorry for the long blog post, but I was really excited and wanted to share.

Otome no Teikoku may end at vol 13 depending on sales of 12. Kishi would rather it didn't, feeling it wouldn't be possible to wrap up well at this point, and is letting the fans know of the risk.

>13 volumes

Most manga won't even get close to that. He also made a lot of fillers, so he can't blame anyone else but himself if the end is unsatisfying.

I mean, I don't hate the manga, but being realistic, it's pretty uncommon for yuri manga without plot to live as much as this one did.
>>
>>2402012
He knows it's rare for yuri to get to as many volumes as it has. That's what the second sentence in the image is saying. (off the top of my head I can only think of Yuru Yuri and Aria AA which have already had 12th volumes)

The notification that it might end at 13 came from the editor apparently just recently (先日), with 12 already about to come out. I don't think it's realistic to write well for an ensemble series that's run for 100+ chapters and have always planned in advance to keep the story in a state where they can wrap up well for all characters at any volume, so I think it's simplistic to fault the mangaka.
>>
>>2402031
I do think editors should give more time for the mangaka to prepare themselves, but unfortunaly, that almost never happens anyway.
