One discussion between, say, Ana and Jack about their past and their current kinda sorta illegal activities, another between McCree and Reyes about when and how Blackwatch went wrong, maybe Zenyatta thinking about Omnic Crisis and how would his life be different if he also rebelled, etc. Not in a sciency voodoo magic way, just people talking about why they are who they are now.
It also would fit as the anniversary event.

the only suggestion i have so far is "show don't tell". mercy notices dva is stressed from her actions, snapping at other members, raging out at a game, the tension you mentioned - vs just directly stating that mercy knew hana was stressed. which isn't to say that writing that way doesn't work. it can work! it does work, but stylistically might not be what you want for this fic.

a personal dislike of mine that sometimes comes as a symptom of this is when fics spend a lot of time evaluating the narrating character's thoughts, hanging out inside their heads for no real reason. especially if it's not in first person. hard to describe, i'll have to try to track down an example.

I know we're just talking skins, but what would they do in OW?

How much is Amelie's true personality like Widowmaker? Would Amelie be fine with sniping again? With Ana not going to be taken out of commission by Widowmaker, I could see Amelie taking up the feel good/feel bad biotic dart rifle if she's not so comfortable with killing and the universe decides she still needs to be a sniper.

I'd really like to see approaches to TraceMaker in this scenario. We have a much more normal context for them to interact in even with guns still in play, and of course, there's Amelie's whole crusading widow angle to take into account. Tracer attempting to interact with a less hostile, less guarded Widowmaker.

Pharah, like many of the Overwatch OGs has military experience, but unlike "Commando" Soldier 76, she doesn't really have anything that alludes to her previous military experience. Her Origins skin is Helix's pre Mk 6 Raptoras, and everything about Raptora seems to be Helix proprietary, with Thunderbird maybe being the Canadian/American concept.

Now, Overwatch developed the Heavy Pulse Rifle, and Winston's got his Banana Slamma jump so I don't think it's too much of a leap for Overwatch to develop flying power armor and give her a rocket launcher independently. But in the absence of it, I could see her gravitating towards sniping, or something with more of a close range role in the vein of Soldier 76 or Reaper's assault rifle or shotgun, since she certainly enjoys getting into the thick of combat more than her sniper mother.

Either that or they let her run around with a rocket launcher on the ground and she discovers rocket jumping.

Dorky hero and "graceful savior that's actually constantly annoyed at everything" still works pretty well. Pharah was pretty wound up before Anubis so she could probably handle Mercy's burnouts pretty well.

Compassion fatigue is extremely common in medical professionals, especially ones in Mercy's line of work. Imagine one that isn't just working a fancy upscale hospital, not even an inner city hospital where they send corpsmen to train on gunshot victims, but someone that goes into fucking warzones and disaster areas.

Making it to your late 30s and being snarky on Mercy's level is pretty good. I've seen people that ran dry before they finished their residency, and nurses and CNAs get sick real fucking quick of patients messing with their IVs or trying to keep sundowners in bed when they're still trying to do basic stuff for care. I've seen doctors that go from cheerfully talking to patients to walking around staring at the floors or into space the second they're out of the patient's sight. Now scale that to someone in a competitive FPS setting that's mostly dependent on what her teammates are doing.

That's fair. It's a good dynamic, so I can't fault folks for finding it attractive. And now that you've gone into it, it does make sense that Mercy would be 110% fed up with everyone's shit. I just found it jarring when I'd noticed her attitude after seeing her as this unflappable and cheerful medic.

Also, Mercy is a pacifist and Pharah does seem a bit of a militarist so the conflict there is pretty interesting. Although not many fanworks explore that.

honestly it does, but i really enjoy her all the more for it. she can be snarky, but at the end of the day the thing she really cares for is taking care of her team, keeping them safe and healthy. but at the same time it's not taken to a ridiculous extreme like the whole tsundere thing, it's not "you're an absolute piece of shit (and im only saying this because i like you)", it's just an eyeroll over the circumstance before doing what it is she loves, taking care of others

Based on Uprising's background lore, Gerard died shortly before the strike team was deployed to King's Row, since his death was all over the news. Since Widow's Talon skin is contemporary with the King's Row operation, and Amelie is still pink in it, she probably gets blue'd sometime after.

With regards to Tracer and Amelie, the King's Row Uprising is Tracer's first op with her new Accelerator after the Slipstream accident. And since Uprising takes place so soon after Gerard's death, it's probable that Tracer would have been still recovering from, or even still stuck within, the time stream when Amelie was still within Talon's clutches.

That's just my take on it, however.

Unless his tracking is godlike or he manages to land quite a few headshots in a row, Pharah will probably get away quicker than he manages to kill her. Then again, bullying Pharah into never flying pretty much disables her.
Problem is, Topdad: 76 is often picked into a team comp when he has to do a lot of different things, so it's hard for him to only focus Pharah. Harder still when he's alone and she's pocketed by Mercy. Burst hitscan like Widow or McCree can deal more damage in shorter time but with a higher risk of dealing no damage at all.

I wouldn't recommend Into The Badlands. There's no lesbians until Season 2 and they barely get any screentime, and the fighting scenes are goofy as fuck. All the fights and the power level bullshit feels like it would've worked better as an actual anime and not an American TV show. It's really weird.

As an upside I guess they haven't killed the girlfriends yet, which is a step up from most other media.
