Never heard or seen this until these posts, Since the comic is created by a wife and her husband I don't picture them giving the girls a happy lesbian relationship or ending....
>>
>>2342342
Having read all the translated volumes, I would not be surprised if they did get a happy ending. Vicky as a character has grown a lot since she met Megan. The ending of last volume was set up for them to eventually get together with her state of mind and the situation she was in.

Idk why you think her having a husband would affect the story.

Before or after Carol and Jess?
>>
>>2343713

My guess?

DC wants to bring in a new Batman franchise by turning Harley into the new Robin. The signs are all there. This clashes with earlier classic portrayals so DC seems to actively sabotage Timm's and Dini's work.

But this is my take in from a business point of view. Harley is popular. Batman too. So you both combine them. Lots of cash by normies ensured.

I keep seeing people talking well about this comic in the good reads.
In the matter of narrative and / u /, is it worth it?
>>
>>2347780
It has trannies.
>>
>>2347780
Never read it because it is more of an lgbt comic than a /u/ one. All I know about it is one of the main girls is revealed to be trans later on. Probably worth reading if you don't care about quantity of /u/ as there is probably lesbian content in there somewhere. Then again there is also a lot of room for subjective disinterest in a book like this so its really up to you what you are willing to put up with to get to the /u/. First volume is free on kindle unlimited so you could make a trial account and skim it to see what you think.
>>
>>2347780
So what's your damage if you can't type '/u/'? You a phoneposter?
>>
>>2347780
>>2347796
>>2347792
Some people here really have an insane obsession with "trannies". Anon asked about /u/ content and the only answers s/he gets are about an issue that isn't even relevant to this board?

Anyway, the two girls on the right of that cover are a couple (and neither of them is trans), confirmed by the authors.
Despite that anon describing it (without even having read it) as a "lgtb comic", these kind of issues are very very minor, 95% of the series is just the girls having supernatural adventures in a scout setting.
The same is for the lesbian couple, I've read up to volume 4 and the gayest thing you see on screen is handholding and a cpr kiss.

As for the quality, I guess that ymmv. If you are the kind of person who loves shouting "SJW!!1!" every couples of posts, then it's not for you. I think it's fairly good, not excellent but entertaining, just don't expect huge amount of /u/.
>>
>>2348036
Informing about trannies is relevant because these people are trying to pass them as real lesbians.

"these people"?
Also, as it has already been said, the lesbian couple and the trans girl are different characters, so I really don't get why would you get triggered about this series.
Nobody said that Jo is a lesbian, the lesbians are Mal and Molly.

Answering that there is a trans character in this series when a person asks about lesbian content is as relevant as saying that in the series there is an old woman who can transform into a bear.
>>
>>2348086
Not same anon, but it's obvious why people want to be warned if there are trans characters in something they want to get into, especially if it's western. You can believe anything you want, but most yuri fans don't want their lesbians near trannies, since there's always the chance the writers could use a lesbian character to validate the tranny's "womanhood" or whatever (as >>2348048 says).
This has been common discourse in LGBT spaces for years now ("lesbians have to suck transwomen's dicks or they are bigots!!") and I wouldn't be surprised if this type of propaganda started to happen in comics as well. Personally I don't want to read anything where there's this risk, as small as it could be.
>>
>>2347780
It's a great and cute series. Pretty much all age. Almost like Gravity Falls, with how everything is weird.
>>
>>2348121
You DO realize how you sound idiotically paranoid and akin to those freaks who are obsessed with "propaganda", right?

This is exactly the same as the homophobes retards who start crying when a character in a series is revealed to be lesbian/gay and they go all "oh noes, now they'll force homosexuality on mah favourite character too, fucking gay propaganda!!!1! I want no gays in my series!".
>>
>>2348197
Nah, I'm a simple lesbian who doesn't want dicks near my yuri and is tired of trannies wanting to get into lesbians' pants, the end. I don't get into yuri stories with trans characters or written by trans authors because of it, since it usually ends up badly (see: that mess called Lady killer in a bind). Dude, we're on /u/, if you can't understand this simple logic I'm wondering what you're doing here.
>>
>>2348036
>>2348086
>>2348197
This isn't your blog. No one cares that you got triggered because anons said they don't want non/u/ included in their /u/ comics. Except it happens. I picked up a book recently that marketed itself as a book about lesbian samurai, was fairly well written, but it turned out one of the characters was actually trans (i'm not going to try and figure out the right word again, fuck it). Not even a female body, because it was a feudal setting, just a woman in a man's body. There was absolutely no mention of this in the book's synopsis.

Do you see where this would be annoying for someone who was looking for something else? Why someone who spent money on a product that wasn't what it was marketed as would be upset at the result?

I'm not saying that's what Lumberjanes is, but it's a touchy subject, and people aren't paranoid without reason.

Is Heathen still worth buying for the /u/? I remember it being mentioned positively last year but nothing since.

In general what are good /u/ comics to buy? The only ones I have that are about the /u/ are The Infinite Loop and Princess Princess Ever After. Also I recently bought (but haven't read more than v1) Jem and the Holograms and Princeless: Raven. I want to buy more /u/ comics but there are barely any in existence still.

How about Squirrel Girl? I read that one of them is a lesbian and apparently it is getting a TV show too. Not sure if I want to bother reading an entire series for a side character though.
>>
>>2346890
No. The yuri is non-existent in it. First issue she breaks up with her girlfriend by like page 5. Rest of the series has been the comic praising Miss America and making her obnoxiously Latina. She spouts shit like "Yaas Queen", "Holy menstruation", and constant misuse of Spanish phrases. The plot is Miss America going to college in another dimension. For some reason.
>>
>>2347780
Ignore the drama, I've read it a few months ago and I liked it a lot. It was cute, and in my opinion there was more yuri than in most standard western comics, and even without the yuri it's worth to read it on a bad day or something.

As for the tranny yeah, that caught me off guard but I tried not to dwell on it, as far as I remember that wasn't addressed more than once or so? It was like a single arc thing that didn't affect the story, I don't like trannies in my comics but I would let that one pass since it's really worth it.

Heathen is VERY good. It's just a shame it's been like two years and there hasn't been another trade yet.It has a viking girl killing monsters and making out with godesses.

Squirrel Girl will have your mileage vary. It's written by Ryan North, who use to do Dinosaur Comics. Personally, I think Squirrel Girl is his worst work that's punctuated by bad art. Same with Hellcat, which is written by Kate Leth. I think they both have gay characters in them but it's not done in an entertaining or sexual manner.

One of the gayer comics is probably that Marceline and Princess Bubblegum Adventure Time comic. They don't have them kiss, but there's still cute stuff in it. Lumberjanes is similar to that too.

Batwoman is good. Poor superhero stuff as Batwoman makes out with girls. Read the Grug Rucka stuff and the J.H. Williams III run. New 52 Wonder Woman is good, but it's more action. Golden Age Wonder Woman is explicitly fetish stuff.

Only other recommendations I can currently think of is Gillen's Young Avengers (though it has a lot of cock in it), DC Bombshells, and some 80's X-Men (mainly New Mutants)
>>
>>2348361
Seconding DC Bombshells. There are maybe like, two or three hetero couples out of too many for me to bother counting. It's basically DC's yuritopia, and more often than not the artwork is gorgeous.

To follow that up, Gotham Academy is a fun read too. Basically girls solving Harry Potter magic mysteries. It's still very hetero (girls crushing on boys) but the cast is largely just cute girls solving spooky and fun mysteries. "Gotham: Yearbook" (the Gotham Academy Annual) was written by the writer of Heathen as well.

>>2348362
If you're a fan of Harley x Poison Ivy, they basically fuck in it.
>>
>>2348335
Heathen is pretty good, so go for it. I also bought and read Raven recently, and were pleasantly surprised considering the main series is trash.

As for recommendations what I've recently read and liked are: The Invisible Lesbian, The Legend of Bold Riley, Monstress, Spinnerette and Welcome Back.

I usually avoid the big name superhero comics. I never feel like the /u/ is trustworthy. It always ends up looking like official fanfiction while the main universe hets it up. With indies I always know that at the very least they can't make it worse than it already is. I never want to invest myself into something that was originally /u/ but becomes less or not at all.

I remember reading about a Batwoman rec on /u/ and if I'm remembering right they said it was good but that it went to shit in the last volume so I decided against buying it.

>>2348371

DC Bombshells exists in an alternate universe, sure, but I feel like it's worth it for the WWII aesthetics and all the copious amounts of yuri. Maybe it helps that I don't know or care what the main universe is up to. It also helps a bit that each issue has been 99c and releases are pretty frequent, despite being relatively short.

I mean if anything, as its gone on it's become MORE yuri. I was sure they were setting Kara up with some dude but then this happens.

Batwoman basically had a strange publication history which makes the latest one shit. When Greg Rucka reinvented her with Grant Morrison, they made her love The Question (a new female one). When the New 52 happened, they got rid of The Question for some reason so JHWIII gave Batwoman an new love interest, another female officer. He wanted to do a wedding issue but editorial told him he couldn't, kicked him off, then killed Batwoman's lover. That's why the new volume is shit. However, the Rucka and JHWIII is still very good if only for the art.

I haven't read the other three but The Spire is awesome. Written by one of my favorite authors. Lesbian cop just fucks around an inter-dimensional Babylon. If you like Spire then you should read Cry Havoc, which is written by the same author and stars another lesbian detective.

Montress is good too, the creator made the X-23 stuff that kind of shipped Jubilee with X-23. Not very gay yet but has female-only main cast.

Sunstone is great if you just want pure smut of lesbians tying each other up in leather.

I'd give Bold Riley a chance just because of the art.

Avoid Bitch Planet, Level Up!, and Rat Queens at all costs.

>you should read Cry Havoc
What. Wasn't that the series about a "lesbian" shapeshifter who immediately abandons her girlfriend in the first issue (for understandable reasons, but basically next to zero screentime was given to her relationship with another girl) and later has a passionate affair with a black dude who's her fellow shapeshifter? And their sudden attraction to each other was explained by the fact that the mythological beasts residing inside their bodies or whatever were calling out to each other. Like some fucked up soulmate shit.

Then the story basically focuses on the her magic baby, because of course after their coupling she gets pregnant. And I distinctly remember that when the guy approaches her and her sexuality is brought up, she mentions that she "wasn't always a lesbian" or something while being receptive to his advances.

In fact, the author was fucking smug as hell when he shilled the comic as "about a lesbian werewolf, except not really" and a good number of people thought that the "not really" part applied to the werewolf part. Turns out it also applied to the lesbian part, and the way it was handled was honestly frustrating.

So yeah. I dropped it a few issues after all that happened because the comic wasn't that interesting anyway. I don't understand why anyone would recommend Cry Havoc on /u/.
>>
>>2348415
>>2348462
Well I guess that's one reason to be happy that my trust issues are never going away. Good thing I didn't buy The Spire right away too since it sounds like that author is a real piece of work and could convert the lesbian in that at any point in the future.

This thread is making me look at western /u/ like a minefield that is rarely worth venturing into.

I never heard of it before either, but http://www.patheos.com/blogs/allergicpagan/2016/08/12/the-forgotten-history-of-atheist-paganism/ makes it sound really fucking stupid. My sister used to be into all that wiccan pagan animist trash and they hate each other as much as they hate normal religious people.

tbqh the author was a tranny decades before all this bullshit started, also ''''''she''''''' is a pretty well respected Lovecraftian writer, i read a some of her stuff and it was pretty ok.
And Alabaster in particular is a great read.

Hey guys
A friend of mine recommended me Rat Queens and I was thinking of getting the deluxe version.
Have any of you ever read? It's good?

>>
>>2348738
I'm not up to date on Rat Queens but the first dozen or so issues were fun. If you like fantasy action/comedy with D&D tropes it's worth a read. Not much romance in general, but one of the 4 mains is gay.

It's all /u/. Jpn are less minefield-y but never commit ever.
>>
>>2348894
I'll take never commit over surprise dicks. And treating said surprise dicks as something lesbians should accept.
>>
>>2348912
The latter half only really applies to the west. East ain't no stranger to surprise dicks. Don't be a dummy, dummy.
>>
>>2348912
You say that like Japan hasn't that pulled quite a few times themselves. In fact I'd tread carefully with teenage /u/ because Japan likes to depict being a lesbo as just a phase you grow out of. Sounds just as shitty.

>>
>>2348335
Heathen is good. It is on a break until this summer, that's why you haven't seen us talking about it much.

Oh boy, I have a lot of series to recommend.

Bombshells is great for /u/ material. Get Sunstone if you are comfortable with erotic. A fairly new subplot in Paper Girls is about a girl liking another girl, but other than that pretty much everyone is a girl so it's /u/ friendly. The main character in Motor Crush is gay af but she isn't back with her ex... yet.
Insexts is about two lesbians in victorian era. Strangers in Paradise by Moore is a loong series about a love triangle of 2 girls and a guy, but it ends up with the two girls being together. Angela: Asgard's Assassin is totally /u/.

It's not confirmed yet, but I am pretty sure the chick in Black Magick is /u/. Same with the Unstoppable Wasp.

Jem and Holograms is a fun series, so is Princeless: Raven. If you do like Jem and the Holograms, check out the Misfits!
>>
>>2349093
>Angela: Asgard's Assassin

Here we go with the trannies again.
>>
>>2349096
Hey, it's your choice if you want to read it. I am merely telling the anon which series is good for /u/.

Angela's Assassin is still good regardless of the characters in it. The same goes for 1802: Angela Witch Hunter. However, Angela: Queen of Hel.. on the other hand is more of an uneven experience with a shitty ending.
>>
>>2349124
>good for /u/
A couple involving a female and a trans character is not /u/. Why is this so hard to understand?
>>
>>2349138

Byrne was somewhat gay friendly in a time when that was not common, did he ever write lesbian character(s) when his writing was still good (80s to early 90s)? I know he and Claremont wanted Mystique and that old lady be lovers but Marvel's anti-gay policy prevented that.

I love these so much, even if they're kinda on the SJW side of things. Get your ass back in the studio and start singing, no one gives a shit." Paraphrasing there, of course.

They did emphasize stuff about Stormer being fat in The Misfits #2, but the side series is supposed to cover the band's history and the kind of shit they put up with (Stormer being overweight and all that entails, Pizzazz having a shitty dad and nonexistent mom, Roxy being illiterate, etcetera).

Also pretty sure that Stormer was in love with Pizzazz for a bit but Jem/Pizzazz is still my OTP, even if it'll never happen.

If so I'll just check the reader for the stuff I couldn't find to download.

Also said download site seemed to most links removed by now unfortunately, though I did find a working one to most volumes except the second and most recent luckily. Finally!!! Hope this will be going well.
>ALL THEY WANNA GET IS... A LITTLE BIT CLOSER! Reunited at last! Former Young Avengers Hawkeye and America team up to take on a new threat! When a case spins out of control, semi-legal 100% legit private investigator Kate Bishop calls the one person she knows will have her back. But is this one too big to punch her way out of?

No it's Dial H. It's a magical dial that when dialed to H-E-R-O gives the user the powers of a random superhero.

I had been waiting for this for fucking ages, they have been teasing us for so long and now? Do I even want this? Miss America's own book really isn't good, please let somebody write this who can actually write.

I meant that specific page. It has this hyper-compressed dream-like quality to it.

>>2367549
Basically this.
>>
>>2368164
It was a backup in another book. So that'd explain the compression.

If i understand you right, you all have been waiting for Marvel to take their relationship to the next level. Like me. But youthink the current writer will ruin it?

Cover and description for the issue after this one:

>FIGHT NIGHT! America reconnects with a childhood crush – but kissing is not what Magdalena has in mind! Can Kate Bishop pull America out of the ring before Magdalena's mysterious employers spring their trap? Probably not, with one of the Marvel Universe's heaviest-hitting villains making a surprise appearance! Sin City goes for the KO – and this is one punch even a Chavez can't dodge!

Aw fuck so its the America writer, god fuck this. I had been really optmistic about her, but she sucks so ridiculously hard. Like its not funny, how bad she is. I heard okay things about her book but the comic work she is doing right now is so offensively bad. Like I dont get triggered by "SJW" nonsense.
Oh well, at least they are clearly not actually going the AmeriKate route for now. So some one who actually is good at writing those two can actually pull the trigger. God I want AmeriKate so badly, but not like this.
>>
>>2368262
Yes, I have been looking for every single table scrap. They would make an amazing power couple for the Marvel universe. There is literally no reason to not actually do this, aside from some assholes who then can't rub it out to Kate anymore or imagine Clint and Kate's incredibly fucked up affair or something. Like Marvel wants their diversity bonus? Use those two, they actually work, are both great and it wouldn't require retconning or weird shit. They are just a good couple that would be fun to read about while giving Marvel good press. Also they are both at least somewhat established due to Kate being Hawkeye and the popularity of YA. What's the fucking hold up?
>>
>>2368339
>What's the fucking hold up?

They couldn't even pull the trigger in a meaningless Secret Wars tie-in with an alt universe Kate. I seriously doubt they'll do it with 616 Kate.
>>
I don't get the appeal of AmeriKate. They're both so obnoxious. It's like two bad tastes that taste bad together.
>>
>>2368508
It's just queer thirst.
It's the only /u/ material we'll get from Marvel in a while so let's just all pretend like we're into it.

How often do we get f/f interaction? 95% of the time it's always a gal talking with a dude. When it's a dude talking, it's 95% of the time another guy. We need more female characters, ones that interact not fight, that's why people are desperate for Amerikate.

Tried this out as the first western comic I've read since I was a kid basically. It was surprisingly fun after a couple rocky volumes with not much interesting going on even from a non-/u/ perspective, and way too much dude-focus. Second half was good though. Helps that Megan is hot as fuck.

Any advice for other gay as fuck comics? Don't bother with anything superhero-related though, I'm not into that. Euro-style, indie, whatever else I'll try.

I tried out the Pathfinder comics too since I like Fantasy and they certainly had /u/ I guess but everything about it was rather...a bit shit. Even the /u/ basically seemed to come out of nowhere going from 'barely acquaintances' to 'committed girlfriends' with barely any build-up or chemistry or anything. Also the faces are so, so badly and messily drawn which bothered me a ton.
>>
>>2369083
These are ones I've been reading recently and enjoying at some level:
Invisible Lesbian (euro, french humor)
Monstress (some kind of steampunk/lovecraftian hybrid)
Heathen (norse mythology)
The Spire (post-apocalyptic fantasy)
The Infinite Loop (time travel, sci-fi)
The Legend of Bold Riley (sword and sorcery/folklore)
Princeless- Raven: The Pirate Princess (pirates, tumblr warning)
Princess Princess Ever After (fairy tale)

Regarding Pathfinder's art, it gets better but yeah the first series' art is pretty bad.
>>
>>2369161
I really liked most aspects of infinite loop but there were a few instances of cringe that took me right out of it.

is it just me, or is every government actively trying to be massive douchebags with the sole goal of alienating their super soldiers?

Like Amanda fucking Waller is currently the least dickish government type as far as I can tell. Which , as I understand the character, is about as normal as Satan running a soup kitchen.

Was America Chavez aka Miss America born with her powers or did she get the power somewhere?
