Although the game doesn't have a real time frame, getting a war underway, moving troops, politics etc all takes time. So you can safely say that the game took place over more than a year. So by the end, she was 18 or older. The anime drags this out even more with days and weeks of traveling around so she's definitely 18+ there.

Never seen any of the Tales of ____ anime. I know they aren't listed as being yuri, het, or anything else. (Looks like mainly fantasy, adventure, and action). How enjoyable is it as a general anime? It's not a series, each game is standalone. Most of them have a central het romance though.

The only reason Zestiria's anime was somewhat enjoyable is because it attempts to fix certain things in the game, like the importance of Alisha's role. Overall, none of the anime adaptations are that good, because they condense the games way too much. You're not gonna find yuri anywhere else either.

I've watched 5 episodes of Zestiria so far. While there is definitely yuri undertones for the Princess and the assassin? I also felt it for Velvet Crow and and Cerci (spelling/name?), but that ended with ep5 although I can still picture her getting it with other girls like the carpet rider (carpet munch-er?) since its already been mentioned in numerous posts that there isn't much/any romance in Zestiria that should leave it up to peoples imagination to continue pairings for whatever girls will make it through the Tales.

Well, just finished it. I think a lot of /u/ has their goggles on very, very tight. But that's to be expected. Besides the epilogue thing, nothing else much happens between them. I still liked the anime though. I went in more for the story so I'm not disappointed.

You should temper your guys/gals' implications about what you see and what is in the anime.


Now in the games there could've been a lot of gay stuff, but not so in the anime. Again, I liked it, and it could be interpreted that they're together at the end but not as strongly as most of the people here imply.

I see this adaptation as an extension to the game and I can't imagine it as stand-alone. Ufo also kept pandering to AliRose which definitely helped.

It's great, I loved it. Probably my next fave compared to Vesperia and Abyss. The fact as you actually play as legit anti-heroes puts a new spin on Tales tradition. Characters and group dynamics are good, and the character development is well-written. Don't listen to the anon complaining about Phi--he (and Velvet) get some of the best writing in-game, development-wise. The plot is good too--much better than the steaming pile of shit that was Zestiria.
