Opinions on this /u/?
I felt Sumi was really cute, she wanted it so much.
>>2319509
It's great. Did you only watch the anime? Start reading the manga from chapter 13 if you want an actual ending.
These fucking yuri mangas getting picked up for one half-assed season...
Read the manga, it's much better. Kiyori is the only reason to watch the anime.
I was curious with how it would end, so i read the whole manga, my first manga ever
>>2319509
Anime was really mediocre. Manga isnt much better but at least it's complete.
>>2319515
I'm reading the manga right now.
>>2319509
Kazama all innocent "hey lets take a picture sumi chan"
Sumi "Oh Kazama, I want to do so many indecent things with you right now"
>>2319509
Sumi was a good protag. Wish the anime was 24 episodes and cut out the manga filler for a full run.
Not the best story ever, but its a solid yuri story. worth the read.
The journey was slow and excruciating, but the ending made the wait all worth it. It was good enough for me to binge it over three days.
I thought the anime was pretty blah, but the manga was good.
Too bad it came out the same time as Aoi Hana, which is way way better.
>>2319643
>>2319678
Well they both had the disadvantage of only being able to cover so much in a single cour.
Regardless, I quite enjoyed SK's anime. I can't think of anything they particularly did worse than the manga (aside from a lack of German lolis).
I read the whole thing in one night, the slow pacing was somewhat frustrating specially when Kazama realized Sumi's feelings but she was too blinded by her own feelings for her to notice them. But the ending was worth the ride.
I laughed at this part
So I just completed reading the Manga.
Really embarresing moments for Sumi but I guess she didn't care anymore. Just wanted get kissed by Kazama.
Shit, shouldn't have read the manga to the end.
These two kissing actually made jelaous. I'm really depressed right now becasue I can never have that.
Fucking dumb right? Anybody ever felt like this?
>>2320025
This is how I feel everyday.
Anyone read the licensed english physical release of this?
Don't get me wrong, I love Sasameki Koto even if it kinda drags on for a bit too long but that is the worst english release of anything I've ever seen.
The script had at least one error every 5 sites as if nobody ever read over it again before it went into printing.
>>2320035
I have the books, but haven't read them. The third volume had a printing error that was fixed later.
>>2320038
Well I have all of them and though it has been some time since I've read them I remember that the amount of typos was pretty crazy for officially licensed books.
What exact error are you talking about? I've noticed quite a bunch of grammatical errors in all of them but I guess you don't necessarily mean an error fix with the typesetting?
Anyways if the fan scanlated release one has obviously better QC you know something is wrong but that's just my opinion.
Pretty sad though that the anime skimped out on the rest of the story. The point it ended at kinda felt lackluster.

>>2320097
Why did Sumi say "a kiss huh"
She clearly had a full speech in front of her.
I don't get it, she couldn't have spaced out like that right? That'd be beyond dumb.
Was is the only thing she said?
Did someone write kiss her already on her notes?
>>2320122
>That'd be beyond dumb.
Welcome to the exciting world of romance manga.
>>2320035
Whoever had to test read this manga was clearly more interested in Sumi blushing all the time.
>>2320035
>Anyone read the licensed english physical release of this?
Yes
It was alright except that the first run of the third volume had a fucking page missing which fucked up the spreads.
>>2319509
Loved it.
The emotional breakdowns are A+
I thought it was cute. I loved the ending. I remember it made me tear up.
It was a wild ride to read when it was still ongoing. All the angst and drama, filler chapters, /u/ complaining about Dynasty, Dynasty complaining about /u/... good times.
If I was in charge I'd release an entire chapter with all the moments where Sumi almost confessed her love. Then actually let her confess.
I'd make a chapter where Sumi gives the crossdressing boy the kiss he deserved so much.
And most important, I'd make a chapter where Sumi breakes the 4th wall and declares her love to the reader.
>t-thank you anon-chan for always looking at me. Turns away embarresed. I might be tall and not cute at all but I love every cute girls who cares about me.
>>2320172
>Welcome to the exciting world of romance manga.
I've actually been saving all yuri manga pages I find where a girl tries to run away from her crush but ends up hurting herself instead.
>>2320258
Man, remember when Dynasty didn't give a fuck what anyone though about them?
too much "will they or won't they" for me
every chapter I'm shouting "just fuck already!"
can anyone tell me the chapter were they finally get together?

Ch 46 is when they confess
the akward moment when your girl sees you after you fell on another girl and thinks you cheated on her even though you don't care about that other girl
>>2331664
Neat.
>>2332115
the video description is the best part
>>2319509
Fluff yuri. Felt like it stretched too long and didn't keep up interest enough.
>>2332110
The moment when your girl thinks she doesn't love you but runs and cries as she sees you on top of another girl and later asks herself why she cried.
Feels bad man.
Is the anime any good? Or should I just ignore it and read the manga?
>>2332934
Anime is slow but gay. If you have the time you can watch it and then read the manga.
>>2332934
It's safe to ignore the Anime.
>>2332934
If you like Emiri Katou then maybe check it out.
>>2319889
Well, please explain why it was so laughable.
What happened?
>>2334218
It's not a humorous scene at all, and in fact, one of her most painful moments. Anon must be an evil person.
>>2320371
How many are you up to now?
>>2334264
>/u/k/
Are you into lesbians with guns?
Didn't this have a het side couple or something? I only watched the anime a long time ago and don't remember if they were in it. Do they get a lot of focus?
>>2334295
The only prominent side couple were lesbian. There was a bit of attention given to Kazama's brother's relationship with a woman quite late in the manga.
>>2334280
I'm writing a story about a gunsmith/mercenary and her raifu, what do you think?
There are actually a decent number of yuri owner/geist stories on the /k/ /wfg/.
Here're one:

>>2331664
AMVs are shit but this is Amazing.
>>2334264
Not many, really.
It's mostly a folder with a lot of cliches I've found over the years. I was just surprised to see that kind of scene in general.
Romance manga characters seem act on all of their impulses immediately, don't they. Like when they kiss someone "for no reason" (alternatively "because you looked cute").
I love this one so much. I watched the anime first and got the manga later and it was a lot better.
>>2335001
I wouldn't discount the anime completely though.
If only there was a second season.I liked the filler episode
>>2335085
I agree 100%
I kinda wish the soundtrack wasn't so sad tho
The soundtrack made me so sad. I always get way to emotional and cry like a bitch with such a soundtrack. I start watching with one hand covering my eyes and barely looking through my fingers when I get the feels, no clue why.
I fucked myself up after I finished the manga too. I felt so depressed and jelaous, I really have issues. I feel like I shouldn't watch romance anime anymore even though I like it a lot.
I don't get it. What does Sumika see in Ushio? I think Sumika is a lot better and I don't understand what Ushio has done to deserve that love. Everyone else seems to agree with me because she keeps getting rejected.
>>2339537
Ushio has the whole childhood friend thing going for her. Plus she's adorable and sweet. Basically, she is the complement to Sumika.
>>2339537
Kazama is kinda boring in the anime, in the manga it feels like she wanted Sumika from day one but didn't know herself.
Maybe she though Sumika is unreachable for her anyway so she can't like cool girls.
Thats just my shitty fanfiction idea though.
I think Kazama enjoyed to tease Sumika. In the pool scene in the manga she was saying "You taught me enough for today Sumi, now you must take care of Azusa".
She knew.
>>2341685
>in the manga it feels like she wanted Sumika from day one
Definitely. That's what I liked most about the series. No matter how long or drawn out it got it never really strayed from them liking each other, even when other people would get in the way.
>>2319509
I was going to try this out soon.
Which is better in /u/'s opinion, anime or manga? Or rather, which should I check out first.
>>2341881

Manga
I love the series, one of my favoutrites, but be warned it has a lot of filler. I binged it and it still took me around three days to complete.
>>2341888
That's fine, I love slow burn stuff.Even when it's slow to the point of being painful
Whenever I see a tall asian girl outside, I can't help but think shes gay as fuck.
>>2343598
Tall sporty girls were made to be with other girls.
>>2320097
Where is this in the digital edition? I may or may not need to fix that spread in my rip.
I wish this show had 26 episodes plus an OVA where Sumi and Kazama go on a date and do cute things
like looking at eachother for a while, kissing eachother on their forehead, andholding hands
but still are embarrassed and keep saying nothing changed, they are just very close friends and it's totally not gay.
>It's ok if I love my best friend and get jelaous whenever somebody else talks to her right?
>I'm not gay at all, it's not serious and she's not my lover or anything.
>It's normal for girls to be together all the time and kiss eachother whenever they want because it feels nice.
>Kissing is fine since we are very close right?
I'd watch that in a heartbeat.
>>2344042
I think you missed the entire point of the series. Both characters know their sexualities, the problem was escaping how their initial friendship was based on Sumi not being Kazama's type.
>>2343598
Do you feel differently if they are inside?
>>2344052
I think Kazama liking "cute girls" was just sort of a self-defense mechanism she created, not actually her type. During the flashback it showed how people thought she was scary cause she liked girls and whatnot, but once she said she only liked "cute girls" people didn't treat her as bad.
The phrase is kinda ambiguous and it just seems to mean the girl she happens to like, that's why Sumi is the cutest girl.
I think the thing that kept them apart was overcoming being friends to being girlfriends. At least that's how I saw it.
>>2344068
>I think Kazama liking "cute girls" was just sort of a self-defense mechanism she created, not actually her type.
Sure, but Sumi doesn't know that and spends most of the manga angsting about how they can't be together because Kazama isn't interested in tall cool girls like her and how she can't confess her feelings because it would undermine their basis for having become friends. "But I'm not gay" never even enters into it - she's aware of and gets over that in the backstory ski trip flashback, well before the main story started.
>>2344074
Okay yeah, I totally agree with that and I am not that original anon. I was just bringing up a separate thing
>>2344074
I didn't know even the Japanese have tv dinner trays.
>>2344103
What could be more Japanese than zen?
>>2344103
>>2344068
With outside I meant anywhere but my place.
>>2344052
I think it would be cute.
Maybe, they where confident about being gay in their heads but once it got real they both had some sort of shakiness going on to keep things interesting.
I think the reason why so many shows end after MC gets the girl is because once MC and her/his love interest are together, there really isn't more to show.
The story ends at it's peak leaving fans sad and maybe even jelaous.
>>2344074
Huh. I guess it's been a while. I always remembered her being angsty because she was confused about her feelings. I'll have to give it a read through again at some point.
What are some other shows where the tall cool girl is actually insecure and cute inside and her love interest (who is the actual cute girl) knows cool girl is afraid to ask but she still wants her to man up and do it. However cool girl never does and so cute girl must tell cool girl how cute she is?
This is my favorite yuri manga ever and it still holds that place after years.
Explain this
Next day...
>>2348217
IIRC, Kazama had octopus hot dogs, and Sumika was thinking about her at lunch.
>>2348225
>>2348217
>taku just according to keikaku
Delusion time
Kazama always loved Sumi. Once she fell in love she figured Sumi can't possibly love her back. She got scared and built up a mental block.
Kazama can't stop being gay though so she works her way around Sumi and goes for other girls, only cute girls need apply because Sumi is forbidden.
"Maybe... just maybe, Sumi does like me back and asks me out one day..."
However Sumi won't ask her out no matter what Kazama does, Kazama trys to get her jelaous, drops hints and sets up multiple moments for Sumi to confess.
Sumi never does.
"Does she not love me? But I think she does... Then why doesn't she ask me? Is she to shy to ask? Sumi is so cute... I'm not sure if I'm right though, I can't ask her and risk our friendship."
Hey, so I just started reading the manga about a week ago.
I just finished Volume 8 and I was wondering, did anyone else find Volume 8 to be a really weird read. They just kept chopping events together in way that made some events really hard to follow.
I'm gonna re-read that volume before I continue just cause I feel like I didn't process everything that happened quite right.
Pic related in particular is still kind of confusing me.
Did anyone else feel this way when they got to this part?
>>2349938
I thought this might be a translation error. Having it be "I should" makes it sound like that's what Kazama wants.
Does anyone know for sure?
When /u/ was fun.
Sumi-chan > Sumis "mom" > Kazama... > Kazamas onii-chan > crossdressing boy > HACHI! > curry bread Kiyori > "princess" brat Miyako >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> honda civic crx on the magazine >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> otaku girl >>>>> boring gay girls I can't remember >>>> annoying german crybaby
>>2350312

>>2350322
Yeah.
Honda hasn't gone to complete shit though.
What exactly happened here?
>>2349938
Yeah, I felt the same. It was really confusing, and also the confession scene came out of nowhere. There was no build-up.
>>2354199
I don't remember this at all... I should re-read this again.
>>2357698
It's right in the epilogue shorts.
It looks like blondie finally confessed, but the author never really developed that couple.
>>2354199
Straight Bangs fell in love with Sumi, but found out she and Kazama were a thing before she got a chance to confess.
Blonde girl is Straight Bangs' best friend, realizes she's in love with her, when she finds out Straight Bangs loves Sumi. That panel is her confessing after Sumi and Kazama make it official.
It was a cute little side couple, but hardly developed at all.
that opening gets me everytime man. it's melancholic but also filled with hope at the same time. a rollercoaster of emotions for me
Just finished watching the anime after reading the manga.
What a blunder. It really does no justice to the manga. It keeps beating around the bush and then it just ends with a big "fuck you, now go read the manga" episode.
I wish they adapted the whole thing.
>>2360757
Yeah, that's why I usually recommend just skipping the anime altogether.
>>2360623
Me too anon. Sometimes I watch the OP just to feel that rush of emotions.
>>2360757
I can't really argue with what you said too much, but the last episode did give off the vibe that the two of them would end up together. And well, that's what happens.
So at least it was in-tune with the manga to SOME degree
>>2319509
I haven't even thought about this for two years maybe. I tried watching the anime, got to the last two episodes then gave up, then tried reading the manga but already knew the story and lost interest.
The only thing I have to say is
>unrequited
>>2361747
You should read the manga.
The first ~15 chapters are full of fillers, but then the story picks up.
>>2319889
Kazama got what she deserved, she shouldn't have messed with Sumis feelings like that.
>Haha I'm cute and gay but you are not good enough for me because you are not cute. I'm going to be selfish and pretend I can't see what's going on up to the point where I forget it myself.
>I ONLY LIKE CUTE GIRLS. You are not my type Sumi, you are just by best friend!
>>2363197
I thought Sumi just assumed Kazama would never like her.
I don't even know at this point. It's been so long. Every chapter is starting to meld together.
>>2363197
Sumi is the cutest thing anyway, how you can think she's anything but cute is beyond me. Those moments when she gets really carried away and flustered just cement that.
>>2363197
It's not about being "good enough". Their whole excuse for becoming friends - and by extension ending Kazama's ostracization in general - was that Kazama wasn't into Sumi's type and so Sumi could "safely" hang out with her. Of course she's going to be terrified once she starts developing unexpected feelings for her and risking going back to how things were before.
The anime was fucking shit, why is it even on the recommendations chart?
>>2364503
Because there is so little yuri anime.
>>2341685
>she knew
