Seems more like its the focus rather than a joke, and Aiz has never really seemed very interested in main series male MC beyond training him and wanting to get along.

This series will 100% not go actual yuri, but at the very least I'd imagine the only het will probably be the joke Amazon's fawning over the Familia leader. It might be worth watching for Elf-chan's affections toward Aiz and eventual Loki. Just think of it more like a cute girls fight not cute monsters thing instead of something that is going to give you any sort of real GL.

Give it a chance I was pretty reluctant to watch it but then after seeing first episode it got me hooked to watch it whole, the only annoying thing are Ais and Bell scenes which feel not needed where out of nowhere she feels interested in him on some stupid anticks, but then it's like with similiar spin-off types of other harem titles so you have to put a blind eye for that and enjoy the rest, and like other said Lefiya love interest seems to be more Filvis since Ais seems to be in Bell harem and nothing will change that, similiar like we had Hidari no Aria where we knew from start Aria will be for male MC of the franchise, or like Railgun with Kuroko being MC and pinning after Mikoto.

Ais seems to be just another Saber clone for the male MC to change and make feel something which actually happened in this so I'm glad the bigger focus is on Lefiya being the MC than her.

Though not official I think there's some attraction between those two. I also think that Filvis was introduced so that Lefiya had someone to become close to and at the same time not interfere with the fans of the main series' ship. Even if she doesn't like him the author went out of his way to create another character that would prevent Lefiya from bothering them. I think the fact that she completely forgets her jealousy towards Ball for awhile while with Filvis shows that Filvis is there so Lefiya can move on from Ais and have her own separate love interest
