The original is Kaitou Tenshi Twin Angel, an OVA of a pachislot game, it was then made into a full series in 2011 (I think).

Protip, if something is brought up this early in the show, stuff like that is meant to be corrected later because that's one of the reasons she had no friends in the first place. She'll have character development and drop the brother stuff.

The original series annoys me for many things (not just Yuri bait) The concept of Twin Angel never convinced me and I felt too forced...

My problem now is that the series feels a bit too old and bad fights do not help Anime in the least... Even the bad fights in any Precure series feel better

Well, the bad news is that the people saying the blue hair will move on from her crush on her brother were wrong. He appeared in this episode and she straight up melted over him. He's also that Tuxedo kamon dude that appears in the OP.
The good news is that this episode ended with him falling into a lava pit, Terminator 2 style.
The other bad news is that he's not likely to stay gone.
The worse news is that the next episode will introduce ANOTHER male character.

The funny thing about the whole thing is that it only had OVAs and an anime series, but for some reason the new series discarded its old characters and put new ones
The format of the series allows a direct sequel under any excuse, I wonder how bad things were to do that

This franchise is basically a test of people pretending to know Yuri, but they really have no idea and even stupid people bite the bait
A real series of Precure (with two exceptions) is more Yuri than this
