You may (or may not) remember me as that lazy-arse writer who started a DVaMercy (is there a real name for this ship yet?) fic like half a year ago that went silent after four chapters. Guess what? I'm back with a new chapter. And like back then, I'd like to kindly ask all of /u/ to sort of proofread the whole thing.

Obviously typos/grammar (for those, maybe tell me which page it's on too, so I don't have to look through the whole doc for each), but also some bits of preliminary feedback, if there's any odd formulations, or what have you. Notice that this chapter was written piece by piece over a longer time, so it might feel not as tightly coherent as the previous ones, but to a point that's intentional too (the ideas were variously my own or from some suggestions/greentexts I got back then). When was the last time Widowmaker got a skin?

I always liked that Pharmercy had skins/themes that people sub-paired together. Anubis/Devil. Possessed(or occasionally Anubis)/Witch. Jackal/Snow Leopard. Thunderbird/Valkyrie.

But Tracer gets so many skins while Widowmaker's left wanting. I mean, yeah, we had the whole Vampire/Werewolf thing(and cat/dog).

If Tracer gets some kind of cyborg kit thing going, I want Widowmaker to have something to compliment it, especially since she was responsible for the King's Row thing anyway.

I'd say with the way Omniums had importance and the God Programs, there was probably around ten omniums total. Two in Europe and two in Asian. Two were probably located near or in Russian borders. Three split between the Americas, one in Australia and two in Africa. Northen and then Southern Africa. Perhaps a little over ten depending on how the landscape looked when they were built.

Going off of Bastion's short, I'd agree that Germany probably got hit much harder than Britain if only because of proximity to what was probably the main European Omnium. Though that's getting more into speculation off very few threads and some basic geography that excludes political climate at the time.

Yeah Japan is most likely the Shimada clan and the the fact it even got a complaint shows how deep the Shimada's were. Pretty sure Ana would decimate Blackwatch if it lead to an injured daughter. The key to being a good mercy is:

>Always prioritize who needs healing the most. A tank at 50% health should not take priority over a squishy at 50% health. However you should be healing whoever is closest to danger regardless.
>Always keep an eye on an escape route, primarily in the form of teammates to fly to.
>When you don't need to heal someone, fucking damage boost them for fuck's sake. Switch to healing when you see that they're taking more damage than they can out damage. Then switch to preemptive healing when you know someone's about to take damage, like when they get charged or slept.
>Resurrections are a little more complicated and depend entirely on the skill and aggression levels of the enemy team as well as your own.

I would say Mercy is difficult to get used to at first, but once you get the hang of her your instincts kick in and help a lot.

Another aspect to remember as Mercy is to know when to pull out your pistol. It's very uncommon but if there's an enemy low on health and you're the only one that can pick it off, just kill them. Or, if you're being pressured by a flanker like Reaper at least take the chance, I've killed flankers so many times and gone back to healing to help keep up pressure.

I will say though, to any aspiring mercy mains, don't even attempt going offensive until you're 100% good with healing and escapes.

Other Overwatch members barely acknowledge his existence in the first place, and you figure it'd be something Reaper or McCree would talk about, but McCree talks to him like he just met him that year.

Kind of. Considering he was saved by Angela and her team, I find it unlikely that they would let Blackwatch use him for their missions.

Although he was conflicted about being rebuilt as a cyborg, so it's possible that in his anger at Hanzo and himself Genji might've agreed to work for Reyes in exchange for his help in destroying Shimada's criminal empire. There's no evidence of this anywhere in the lore, though.

As for why other OW members don't talk about him, perhaps he was less of an agent and more of an asset. We know he was conflicted about being rebuilt as a cyborg, so he might have felt forced to work for OW, resulting in him not communicating with other agents and instead just being a weapon for them to deploy and use.

I really wish Blizzard would give us more lore.

My guess would be that he didn't try to interact with a lot of people in Overwatch, even with McCree.
His only real interaction in game are with Winston, Zenyatta and, of course, Mercy. With Mercy having the most.

Still, might be that down the line he started to see things less JACK IS BACK and then switched branches, got an upgraded body/armor and did some actual heroics until he figured out he didn't belong.
Or his current body is a parting gift.

I can't remember anything definitively stating that Genji was part of Overwatch instead of Blackwatch. I think everyone just assumed it because it made more sense and the early art put him in the same uniform as the other Overwatch members. But then, McCree was shown in similar gear and he was definitely Blackwatch, so there's that. It could also be another early art inconsistency.

What might help, in the fandom, is if one ship could reach prominence for her. Currently she seems more like an attached for pairings which ultimately influence how she comes across. I haven't read many Sombra/D.va fics but the few Symmetra/D.va ones did moderately okay with what they had available given the setting's history and D.va's background. Others have even less fic wise where background building would happen or they're het.

they did both go through pretty gnarly near-death scenarios. they could talk about girls together.

She's hard to pair off because she's completely sidelined plot-wise. There's no indication that she knows about the Overwatch recall, or cares about it in any way if she does. The actual Overwatch members have some mild flavor text concerning her but nothing that indicates they see her as a potential recruit or something similar. 76 and her have a weird sort of snark-off and Reinhardt asks for her autograph.

As for the shipping, Symmetra/Dva was always more of a "Pair the Spares" thing than anything that had any lore basis, and Sombra doesn't seem to have any interest in her either, she just brushes her off when Dva confronts her about being a hacker. Mercy/Dva is a thing mostly because Koreans love age-gap yuri. Sombra also gets some art with her, but that might also be age-gap I guess given that she's 30.
