Izetta thread because the Spring Event was a few days ago.
Some cute and gay happenings.
Details on the event:

>They did a skit where Fine visited Izetta and Lotte in their hut and Izetta kept looking out the window excitedly and asking “Has Fine arrived yet?”. When Lotte finally said she had, Izetta and Dorothee burst out of the house and fell into the lake in their hurry (with her wheelchair??). Fine could only stare at her with an exasperated “Izetta…-_-” .
>They confirmed that Fine visited Izetta quite often
>>2295034
>Each seiyuu chose the best/cutest scene of their character, the scene then would be played on the big screen and everyone gave a commentary.
>Akaneya chose the broomstick scene of episode 11, saying that Izetta was cute there and she herself was awkward and shy the whole time when she was acting out that scene with Hayami (while Hayami was S) The conversation then carried out that it was a “love scene” and everybody agreed.
>Akaneya: “I was embarrassed because that scene seems to have a sexy voice.”
>Hayami: “The princess here is a little S (lol)”
>Hayami: “It’s embarrassing to watch, but it was fun as I was doing it ” ← S
>It seemed they did a live dubbing of that scene from episode 11.
Will the people of Elstadasdyasy accept their Archduchess' girl love?
>>2295037
>Bianca shipping Finetta is also canon. When being asked “which character would you like to bring home”, Uchida, in Bianca’s voice, said something like “Princess, you have to take Izetta home!!”
>Hayami demonstrating her painting prowess and Fine’s ikemen voice, making everyone swoon. She drew Izetta so well that Akaneya commented something like “Princess you’re always looking at me closely aren’t you”
>>2295039
Going by the show pretty much everyone in the allied nations ships them.
Truly a blessing.

You mean Lesben?
So, how is the /u/ in Izetta? Thinking about watching it.
>>2295333
Not really yuri, I guess you should stay from this show
>>2295327
I totally butchered German like how animu butchers English, didn't I?
>>2295335
But aside from /u/, is it worth watching it?
>>2295338
Nah, just a little.
>>2295353
The yuri is the only reason to watch this show. Don't believe that other anon, they don't know what yuri is.The OST is great too. Also Saori Hayami.
>>2295333
There's plenty of cute and romantic interactions between Fine and Izetta, and no bait-and-switch at the end.
>>2295034
>>2295359
Hayami and Akaneya totally feel like Fine and Izetta in that photo.
>>2295353
Okay, I'm kidding. This show and flippy flappy is the yuri-est show from last season. How yuri? Just watch episode 11
>tfw no Bianca/Lotte
This pairing had so much potential and the anime wasted it.
Archdyke and her Witchfu is the only thing matters
>>2295419
They're more like sisters.
>>2295357
>The OST is great too
It really is. Been listening to it from time to time ever since it came out.
Shuumatsu no Izetta and Set Me Free are probably my favorites.
>>2295419
Sad this is the only LotteBian picture out there, and it's hardly intimate.
Poster shown at AnimeJapan.

5th BD cover, kinda surprised Elvira got one despite how irrelevant she ended up being, especially in these final episodes.
I guess this leaves Sophie for the final 6th volume.
How gay is this show?
>>2296852
Pretty blatant but nothing like an on-screen kiss.
>>2295037
>>2296866Except that one episode where there was an on-screen kiss.
>>2295357
>The yuri is the only reason to watch this show.
Yuri indeed sold me for the most part but I absolutely love the setting and guys from Wargaming really delivered in spades when it comes to accuracy. First three episodes and episode 7 in particular are amazing in that regard.
Also I love the idea of supernatural messing with the real warfare and Izetta's fight scenes are great because they're gritty and grounded. And as you said the OST is godlike and songs from it are occupying like 70% of myWar Thunderplaylist.
Really everything about this anime felt tailored to me.
>>2295688
I love every song involving those vocals. Aside from the main theme, Send out!, Sakusen kaishi, Rifle's wings and ME ZA ME come to mind.
>>2296852
So gay it features a world war between /y/ and /u/.
>>2296852
>How gay is this show?
where to start
>>2297070
There is one thing you should be warned of: The story.
It starts out strong, but falls on it's face in the second half with dumb plot twists.
It's still an enjoyable show overall, but it gets kind of dumb in parts.
>>2297097
Well anon asked about the yuri anyway, doubt they're expecting some perfect storyline.
>>2297097
Anon asked about dykes, so we talked about archdykes.
>>2296938Sophie biting Izetta and sucking her blood to restore her power doesn't count, anon. You should know better. However I do think most of the /u/sers who watched it are in agreement after that broom ride scene they had sex on the hill.
>>2295419
See this: >>2295448
Given Bianca's conversation with Ricelt, she is the hopelessly romantic type, who longs for the prince(ss) on a white horse.
And Lotte is just a kid who is not interested in romance (yet).
They did not even have any scenes together besides the bathing scene.
I don't say I would not like that development, but there is basically nothing that would support these two besides being in the same universe.
>>2297129
>biting
She kissed her before she started biting anon.
>>2297582

>>2297620

Has there been any BD/TV comparisons?
>>2302459
>>2304181
I don't think so. From what I saw from the BD version it looked about the same though.
do you think fine enjoys playing with izetta's izettas?
>>2307004
In a jealous fit, no doubt.
>>2307004
I think Fine enjoys playing with Izetta's everything.
>>2303759
I still feel cheated by not seeing this dance sequence in the tv series. ;_;
>>2307455
I think the broomride basically made up for it, though it's still a bit sad considering Izetta most likely won't have another chance to dance.
This show ended up shit, not sure if it wanted to be action, political or yuri-romance and halfassed all three. They should have just spent all their time on the romance aspect since it was the strongest angle. The broom ride scene is so romantic it makes you forget how much of a clusterfuck the plot was at that point.
>>2310004
I thought we watched these kinds of shows for the plot clusterfuck. And yuri.Like symphogear.
>>2307455
The way you worded it sounds like there is a dance sequence outside of the tv series. Is there?
>>2310004
The japanese should really stop writing overpowered magic into things attempting to be military/political fiction. The show would have been a lot better if the notgermans started countering her with conventional weaponry fairly early on instead of being stomped until they get something even more overpowered.
>>2310248
Fanfics. Like 3 or 4 of them.
>>2310259
That's not how weapons development works, m8. It's always reactive, meaning that you have to wait until your potential enemy does something before you can work on countering it, and if you want any degree of reliability you'll test it which means time.
And that's only if your enemy is a step from you in the arms race. Izetta was a mile away.
For comparison, imagine if Superman arrived today and was a tad angry. We will get weapons to stop him, yes, but it won't be the day after.
>>2310271
The notgermans already had research on her and they don't need to have something that kills her instantly, just something like modified anti-air that slowly develops over the course of the series instead of literally no threat until they pull out sophie who is even more overpowered.
Besides its fiction, I can suspend my disbelief enough to believe the people with the witch research division are willing to send out some prototype anti-witch weapons that are based on modified anti-air weapons if it means it has actual threat. If Superman came to Earth today and was angry he'd just kill us all, wouldn't make it good or interesting fiction.

Sophie for final cover as expected.
>>2312630
I'm a little surprised, since I figured that her existence would be kind of a spoiler. But then again, those six are pretty much the entire female cast, so I guess they didn't have much of a choice.
>>2312677
To be honest, I would have preferred for them to break the "pattern" on the last volume. An Izzeta x Finé final cover would have been the perfect choice.
>>2312677
>figured that her existence would be kind of a spoiler
Well it is the last volume, not much of a spoiler anymore.
Though I believe volume 5 was bundled with an illustration of her fighting Izetta.
>>2312697
That's true. I just remember how she kind of came out of left-field during the TV broadcast. I figured the empire would inject a regular German girl with the magical crystal juice to give her witch powers, so I was a little surprised that they cloned the original like that. I was thinking of how, if someone got the whole box set at once might not be as surprised if they had already seen a picture of Sophie.
>>2312693
>An Izzeta x Finé final cover would have been the perfect choice.
That's honestly what I thought they'd do as well. I guess they must have scrapped it when they decided on having the BD extra sleeve feature them.
(of course there's no reason why they couldn't have just done both)
>>2312711
>of course there's no reason why they couldn't have just done both
Because we can't have nice things. We're on /u/ we should be used to that already.
>>2312717

>>2312724
Think so? All of the BDs that I own I've never watched the broadcasts for. I don't want to spend money on a series that I've already seen. It's risky to buy something rather sight unseen like that but I haven't been burned yet.

>>2333177

>>2333177

To me this is the official epilogue. It's perfect.
Can someone make a fanfic plot when Bianca and Sophie become a couple?
>>2364799
Did the author make up names for the Royal Guard? That makes me really happy for some reason.
>>2364934
Most of that is actually pretty complicated inside jokes. I'll try to explain.
Adele is the only one who was named directly in the series, when Bianca ordered her in episode 8. (Hence they say she only calls Adele by name).
Luise and Christa were listed in the credits of the same episode, and it was assumed they were the other two royal guards who appeared. But apparently Luise is actually the name of Lotte's sister, who also appeared in the episode. The guard in the middle is voiced by the same seiyuu as Luise (they only listed one role in the credits) and her name is Beatrix. So that's the background of the joke with Lotte.
The scene where they try to guess the names of the remaining Royal Guards is a joke based on the fact that in concept art they were just listed with alphabetic letters (...D, E, F), so they use them as initials for the names.
>>2364967
And now that I think about it, the guard names actually do follow an alphabet pattern now that we know it's Beatrix and not Luise.
A(dele), B(eatrix), C(hrista)
>>2364967
That's pretty neat, thanks. I've always liked the Royal Guard squad, so it's nice that they got some love.
I wish the anime focused more on the romance instead of awful politics and bland "action."
>>2364983
I like the pairing of the fake-Izetta and the blonde who kept tugging at the breast area of her costume when they were putting it on her.
>>2364994
I think that it would have been better if they had the story drawn out over ~48 episodes, giving time to the romance and the politics, and allowing them to both be fleshed out. Having the witch clone(s) never exist would also have been nice. It should have been a Magic (tradition) Vs. Science (progress) kind of story, and there was a lot of potential, but the author and the work's length made it so that it couldn't reach it's full potential. If there are no filler episodes in that 48 ep run, then it would have been great.
(Some slow episodes, sure, but no episodes that are irrelevant to either of the main plots.)
Izetta 2 The New Colossus when?
>>2365022
I think Izetta is good the way it is. The same writer had two cour on Mai Hime and filled it with bullshit.
>>2365046
That's an interesting althist. How would that post-WW2 geopolitical map look like?
There were no not!Russians involved. Why? Did they have a non-aggression treaty with not!Germany and the Allied powers? Either way, no Cold War. Not with the Commies, at least.
What is Eylstadt's position in this new world? They're sure to get a big portion of the spoils of war after bearing, and breaking, the brunt of the Germanian army. Every major power now has Eylstadt on their radar.
To the populace, the Witch is on the comics books. She's a heroine. Think Superman.
To the people that can push big red buttons, the Witch is on the comic books. She's a threat. Think Superman, except these guys have been reading Injustice. What's stopping Eylstadt from siccing the Witch on them? They don't know Izetta was depowered and the moment they find out (and they will) shit will hit the fan.
>>2365003
Me too. I'm glad they didn't all get killed off.
>>2365075
The whole point of deleting magic was so that Atlanta would send troops against Germania and that countries wouldn't turn against Eylstadt for having monopoly over witches. Fine explained it to the leaders of the nations in the last episode.
>>2365228
>>2365075
>>2365231
Actually, this will make legit alternate history cold war. Think Charles Stross cold war stories, but instead of cthulhu, we got witch arms race.
It's pretty clear that muricans already started their operation paperclip by recruiting berkman to their forces. We don't know about what russkies would do, but I'm sure they have upper hand in securing facilities and hexenium weapons prototype.
The developments can branch into two possibilities: 1. creating a government sanctioned witches like the notzis did 2. make a way so normal humans can utilize magic power. Imagine a group of Marines riding flying anti material rifle like motorbikes, mechanical exoskeleton powered by hexenium, high-altitude ultra long-range bomber sapping energy from Ley Lines
As for Ley Lines, we all know Izetta exhausted all ley lines in Europe, but how about another continents? This can lead to another war for securing place. A good setting for alternate Vietnam War
>>2365261
>I'm sure they [the not!Russians] have upper hand in securing facilities and hexenium weapons prototype.
They didn't enter the war if I recall, and therefore have no claim to any of Germania's resources or research. Then again, they might have witches of their own. Same with Atlanta.
So yeah, no nukes but witches.
>witchify normal people
Please no. Nothing ruins a series faster than letting men do something only women could.

>They didn't enter the war if I recall, and therefore have no claim to any of Germania's resources or research.
They can steal /kidnap some worthy materials when everything is in chaos. Or, they can offer political asylum for everyone involved in the project.

Elvira was photographer. The image on Disc 5 was a selfie and the one on Disc 6 was an impressive work of journalism.

Actually a Cold War happening in the Izetta world is not really going to happen, since a lot of factors went into happening, those factors being a power vacuum being since France and its empire were in ruins, the British Empire taking heavy costs from the war, so it was crumbling a bit, and the USA gaining Nukes and able to rap up its military building. There are other factors as well, but those are 3 biggest 3 factors.
And well since NotGermany was defeated well before NotUSA needed to develop Nukes, NotRussia wouldn't really pursue it, also shorter length of the war means NotBritish Empire doesn't really fall apart, so there isn't to much of a power vacuum for NotUSA and NotRussia to become opposing forces, since NotBritian can act as buffer between the two. This also means that NotBritain and NotUSA have an easier time building NotEurope back up, so NotRussia wouldn't really be able to expand their influence further into Europe that much.
And if the scenario is really something similar to WWII, NotFrance and NotGermany would start to build the early version of the Izetta world's EU, so that they could avoid more disastrous wars like WWI and WWII, means that they would have an easier time working together, since whole of Germany was together, and the Soviet puppet states wouldn't have been put in place in Eastern Europe and the Balkan states.
So likelihood of a cold war happening not really all that plausible. Unless of course NotRussia was mentioned to have invaded NotGermany, then Cold is actually highly likely.

The EU was an economic alliance between private companies first and foremost. It shouldn't have ever become anything similar to what it is now.
>>2369305
The existance of Witches makes nukes a non-issue anyways. There will still be an arms race, only except of nukes, anti-nukes and counter-nukes there'll be Witches and anti-Witch weaponry.
Not!US and not!Russia will be more friendly with each other in this althist but they will still make independent, and secret, research into Witches with the hopes of eventually producing their own.
I wish we had a larger picture, specially not!Japan and its role in this althist.
Why is Fine so fine?
>>2369419
Perfect blend of a beautiful, refined exterior concealing a tomboyish, iron-clad interior. Everyone wants to be her witch.
>>2369430
She's not called the "Arch Dyke" for nothing.
>>2369438
Forgot pic.
>>2369401
No its not, its an economic alliance between countries, its just that companies try take advantage of it sometimes and succeeds. But it wasn't built on by companies.
What the EU actually is and does is very complicated, since its a series of different treaties about rules and regulations for the system.
>>2369411
Except Izetta is the last ever witch, and since Izetta is never really going to have kids, a witch and anti-witch arms race would never happen.
>>2369430
and despite being a tomboy princess, she is still undoubtedly feminine and womanlike
>>2369715
>Except Izetta is the last ever witch
Yeah, I'm sure that stinger about their version of Operation Paperclip starting didn't really mean anything. Don't worry about it. Everything will be fine.
On an unrelated note, would you like to buy a bridge?
>>2369715
>Except Izetta is the last ever witch
We used to think that. Then we got advanced cloning tech in the early forties, which was used to mass produce witches.
