I just got done with this short sequel to the big Disney movie (and precursor to the upcoming series). It sure did take a turn for the interesting. It seemed to me it couldn't have been more /u/ if it tried. It watches like a decent /u/ fanfic come to life.In it Rapunzel is issued a Lady in waiting named Cassandra who openly says Rapunzel and Flynn shouldn't be together. She takes Rapunzel on secret night time horseback rides dressed in masculine looking Knight armor, just the two of them. When they come back she pleads with Rapunzel not to rat out their night time trysts to the King and Flynn. So what do you think? I can't help but think this is Disney reaching out to /u/. Can't wait for the inevitable fanfics and fan art. If you find any feel free to post it here. Share your thoughts too.
Rapunzel still marries Flynn though...

A) The movie deals with that too.Rapunzel actually turns down Flynns marriage proposal in the movie to go horseback riding with Cassandra
B) If she were to marry Flynn she would not by any stretch of the imagination be the only gay person in a straight marriage.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this last night.

Well damn. That sounds intriguing. Disney is going to have to do something with lesbians sooner or later, because so many people are clamoring for it...
However, she canonically marries Flynn. So, even if there's a chance that Rapunzel might be interested in another woman, clearly that isn't the ultimate path for her.
And Cassandra, if she's into Rapunzel, well... sucks for her, I guess. It does happen to a lot of lesbians, unfortunately. Most women aren't gay, after all.
On the other hand, Flynn said they got married after 'years and years' - but he's a bit of an unreliable narrator, and they looked identical at their wedding as at the end of the movie.
Speaking of which, does this short contradict that? Given the hair?

The hair magically grows back, so that detail at least doesn't.

Rapunzel should also have short brown hair by the time this takes place, yet here we are.

For some reason the post form is super fickle on some of my devices. Sometimes it'll appear sometimes it won't sometimes it'll appear but the verification won't.
Whatev anyway just had to get something out apologies for the roughness of the sketch.

I think what that anon meant was, that during the wedding she had short brown hair, meaning if the series and the short are inbetween the original movie and the wedding short video, then it grew back long but they cut it again before the wedding, which seems really odd

She is drop dead gorgeous

Rapunzel's voice sounds familiar. That's the same voice actress that plays Moana, right?
Just watched it now. Cassandra is so blatantly in love with Rapunzel and shits on Flynn every chance she gets, loved it.
Tum tee tumm...
A little selfcest for the road?
