No kiss or 100% confirmed canon, but i'd say it's like 90% canon at least, i'm pretty jaded about subtext shows and hate when people say that those are 100% canon yuri, but honestly, in Izetta's case i don't think there is plausible deniability where you can say "oh they're just super-duper friends/like sisters", aside from all the yuri-ish scenes what really "sold it" to me is how the shows acknowlodges the Fine/Izetta relationship as romantic by drawing parallels between their relationship and the relationship between the white witch and the prince, which was confirmed romantic

+ Some really nice romantic scenes
- The plot/writing is overall pretty terrible.
- It's written like it's specifically supposed to be watched while airing so you get to "discuss/speculate" with people for a week before the next episode, but if you watch the episodes all back to back I'm sure you'll much more quickly realise how stupid and a waste of time a lot of what happens is.
- Somewhat spoiler: Incredibly tepid ending that doesn't go full happy or full tragedy, but it's not "bittersweet" either, it's just incredibly cowardly and unsatisfying in every way.

If you're a NEET and your time is worthless you can probably watch it, but I honestly wouldn't really recommend it to someone with more limited time.

That's really all I'm looking for. In this shortage of legitimate yuri anime's I will honestly take anything with girls in relationships with each other.

If you don't mind, could you elaborate on how the ending was. "Cowardly?" I'm not sure I follow what a cowardly ending is. If I'm watching for the yuri, will I feel sad or happy?

Not them but hard to say if you'd be happy or not. Not sure why other anon is so salty, it wasn't particularly stellar or particularly bad. I watched it in one go and there wasn't anything that stood out as being written for once a week viewing.

The ending basically involved a choice with serious consequences being made and then the consequences being waved away for the sake of a happier ending.

Neither, just annoyed and unsatisfied. Actual ending spoilers: In one of the later episodes Izetta is crippled and can't walk anymore under her own power. She can use magic to walk though. Then the final battle involves her sucking all the magic out of the Earth to stop the enemy witch and the magic nuke. You're led to believe she dies during this, but then the epilogue shows that she's living as a cripple in a secluded forest shack that Fine sometimes visits like an elderly relative. This final scene of Fine visiting is really weirdly and poorly done in that they deliberately go out of their way to not actually show Izetta or Fine's face directly or up close or anything or actually show them interacting beyond Izetta being wheeled outside to Fine's arrival. No smiles or even a slight hug or anything. It's like they wanted some kind of weird mystery but the entire thing is so stupid. So they don't deliver on any kind of cathartic happy ending (either yuri or non-yuri) but don't deliver on a proper "heroic sacrifice" ending either. It's a nothing ending and after typing all this out I'm really mad again at how fucking stupid the ending was.
