Well... It appears silver, but if you want to get really technical it's actually bluish grey. You might even call it a desaturated blue. The blueness is more obvious when it's surrounded with a contrasting color like yellow/orange. The rest of Moonlight's outfit just makes it look like pure grey because color theory.

Look at the closeup on Ichika's face in the preview when she and the dude are talking. It's pure surprise/fear. Surely if they were going to go the het romance route they would have picked a blushing shot instead.

And yeah sure, all the nameless background girl students are going to be in love with this dude, but they're also all in love with Akira and/or Yukari, which mitigates the annoyance factor imo.
