And this is where my problem is. It's hardly "sexual harassment of a minor". Not considering the context of the show, or of anime in general. And in that sense, trying to fit your own personal moral guidelines into a criticism of the show, when you also have things like Kanna going after Riko, or Tohru going after Kobayashi (if you'd like to argue legitimate age v. appearance). Similarly, I'm sure there's someone out there bothered by the fact that this might all constitute some form of beastiality, magical or otherwise.

My brain pretty much has two modes for consuming media - popcorn mode and serious mode. Popcorn mode I suspend all disbelief, if I'm enjoying something, it doesn't matter how stupid or contradictory it is, I'll accept it all just to continue enjoying it, but it's generally a pretty shallow enjoyment. Serious mode is obviously what it sounds like, I consider things more critically and pay more attention. Unfortunately, Kyoani wants me to engage my serious brain for some parts of the show and switch it off for others. Obviously it's possible, but that doesn't mean that I don't occasionally have creeping thoughts about the implications of Kanna being hundreds of years older than Riko. Especially when Kyoani sometimes want me to think about Tohru being millennia older than Kobayashi and a different species from a different world and what impact that has on their relationship.

I'd say that the image is actually pretty good only because you can really feel the weight of Tohru's Tohrus over Kobayashi's hands. I really like Kanna. She's the best!

If there's one thing that I like about the dragons in this series, it's that their general capabilities and how they're much better than human ones come up fairly often and we also have Kobayashi along to marvel at them with us.

Like Tohru's sense of smell seems to be pretty fucking great, pretty sure there's a lot of mileage one could get out of that that would be fun to see explored in fanfiction or something.
