Bears, deer and goats, take your pick. I think it's mostly just because snow leopards are exotic enough on their own and contrast well with black-haired jackals. Maybe it was something the Chinese started since snow leopards are indigenous to western China.

Jackals have an interesting taxonomy on their own. Pharah's jackal symbolism is obviously derived from her epic skins and association with Anubis, but the native canid in Egypt is the golden wolf which is genetically distinct(though still compatible) with jackals, grey and African wolves, etc. and is a cousin of the golden jackal.

I don't know if there's a word for it, but I feel like some people who drink a bit too much of the shipping kool-aid begin projecting their own feelings on to fictional characters. They're the ones who get visibly upset when someone posts content that conflicts with their preferred ship.

Some of the things people were saying about Emily definitely came across as if they were talking about someone putting the moves on their own girlfriend, including but not limited to:

it's not like we've been privy to any other details of her personal life until now. by that logic, anything they revealed would've been just as "cheap" just by virtue of the fact that we didn't already know about it. it feels that way to you because you're probably used to consuming media that's actually made with yuri lovers in mind, and that's not what you got from the comic.

at times like these we need to take a step back and remember that this is not a yuri game, and neither the comic nor the game are trying to tell a love story. we got a first quick look into Tracer spending her time on something other than fighting terrorists, the first real look into her personal life, and that's a reasonable time to introduce a girlfriend or family member.

her girlfriend is probably not intended to be a major plot point of this game any more than torbjorn's family is. they add flavor to the characters and world.

Oh, stop it. Prior to the Christmas comic, Tracer was featured in the "Alive" short and the original cinematic trailer. She's had less than 12 minutes of screen time, during which the writers neglected to mention her girlfriend while she was busy fighting Talon agents. That's hardly a "narrative failure", especially when the narrative of Overwatch has absolutely nothing to do with whatever quaint bullshit the characters get up to during their time off for the purposes of drawing a whimsical holiday comic.

But Overwatch is not just animated shorts and comics, what's said in games matters too. Widow manages to mention her murdered husband, Pharah talked about her mother before we ever knew she'd be a playable character, hell even Bridgitte is mentioned and appears in a a spray.
And since supposedly Tracer has been a lesbian ever since her conception, they easily could have made her mention anything.
But as it stands, the girl with cat ears and the omnic dude are a better written official pairing than whatever Tracer has.
But it's all good, the less they try to tackle anything regarding "romance" in this franchise, the better.

Sombra is a hacker without peer. What if she also hacked the Vishkar?

Combine the Chrono Accelerator with a scaled down version of Symmetra's teleporter and you have something that can be rapidly deployed with superior range to Tracer's recall. Symmetra crafts stuff out of hard light with the photon projector. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what Sombra's optic camo is based off of, as well as how she might manufacture things that don't seem to be in mass use by Talon.

In the first place, assuming they WOULD like to "get their hands on it", it lying around in one place all the time would be running more of a risk of Talon figuring out where to strike because all they'd have to do is run background check on Tracer.
They have a master detective on their side who prides herself in knowing everything about everyone, and Tracer herself is not particularly shy of using her powers as she blinks carefree all around everywhere. So if Talon shifted their attention to Tracer chances are they'd know where to hit within hours.

Doesn't matter though, Sombra is using her translocator openly during missions for Talon, it's highly unlikely they don't know about the tech by now.

Let me be extremely clear.

Talon would like to get any piece of OW tech that they could. So it's unsafe to trust with any OW tech to strangers.

It means that, given the chance, they would take any and all OW equipment back with them. So throwing it around is unsafe. Which means, at the very least, Emily is someone Tracer trusts enough to introduce to other OW agents.

Again, Tracer is using her device openly now and has been using it during the time of Overwatch. IF Talon had any interest in it they could easily track her down at any point. No, because they don't have any right to. Forbidding one specific organization like that seems like a major legal hassle anyways, not to mention skirting the limits of various human rights (unless they made OW out to be like a terrorist organization or something, and even then).

But even if we take te Petras Act at face value, it's only about OW activity, not about two people who just happen to be ex-Overwatch getting up to some super-heroing against some equally super-powered foes. Unless it's like the whole team back together, or they expicitly identify as Overwatch, there's nothing illegal (illegal by itself at least; stuff like destruction of property and shit still applies, but we all know super heroes are exempt from that), and trying to outlaw that goes very much against human rights; just because Tracer and Winston have some unusual abilities that let them do unusual things, they're still just normal persons, and as such it's prefectly in their rights to use said abilities and foil and armed robbery.

The same also applies to OW tech. For one, pieces of technology are not organized activity, so not illegal. And two, what defines 'OW tech'? Being designed/built/used by ex-Overwatch? I bet that's a lot more stuff than just Tracer's accelerator (Torbjörn built a whole bunch of weapon systems, for starters). And unless one could somehow proove Emily intends to use that tech-incidentally-built-by-Overwatch she has at her house for some Overwatch activity, there's absolutely nothing illegal about that either, all she wants to do is help her girlfried deal with her unique condition.

Well, if the OW tech is restricted from civilian use or classified as military tech, it could be illegal to use in theory. As far as we know Tracer, Winston, Torb, Rein, and any other OW agents after the Petras are just your average world citizens. Of course Tracer still needs to use her CA, so there's probably a clause in the Petras Act, (plus any other UN laws passed down the line) that makes her exempt due to the unique nature of her condition. It might even be classified as medical equipment. There might also be a clause in there for Reinhardt, since he's technically a German Crusader, that might make him exempt as well, due to some knightly or chivalric code the Germans might have negotiated for.

I can't even think of too many other notable pieces of OW tech besides Tracer's accelerator, Reinhardt's armor (which is in fact Crusader tech produced by the company J08, and not OW at all), Torbjörn's turret (which seems to be nothing too out of the ordinary at that point in time, so probably he just has the proper license) and Winston's stuff (but that still seems to be in a test phase, as well as kinda hidden). It's not like anyone has a city-killing Wave Motion Gun stashed away somewhere (that we know of).

And even then, stuff would be forbidden on the basis of it being classified/restricted tech/weapons. Not on the basis of it being 'Overwatch tech' whatever that constitutes, because that would be against human rights (something like Articles 12, 17 or 19 of the UN Declaration of Human Rights).

Since all the founding members of OW (and presumably most other redshirt agents) used their real names, then in comes Angela fucking Ziegler and her angel motif and code name and shit. Then Tracer. And then it probably spiraled. I would love to see a comic addressing this, but Angela plays it off like it's perfectly normal and she goes about her very serious and important filed medic duties while calling herself Mercy, and everyone else is playing the straight man in Dr. Ziegler's superhero fantasy.

How so? The glowy beams are necessary, because that's the biotic energy/nanites that are actually doing the healing. I'm not sure if it's stated anywhere, but I think of the halo looking thing as some kind of diagnostics tool or the like. And the wings are used for better mobility (even more so if they're not constrained by gameplay mechanics), even if an ordinary jetpack might fulfill the same purpose. But maybe the angelic imagery is intentional in-universe too, to instill hope or something; an angelic figure descending from the sky (as Mercy beautifully demonstrates in the 'We are Overwatch' short) probably has more impact on the wounded than just a guy with a red cross on his arm.

There is an in-game interaction between 76 and Winston where Winston says someone will stop 76's illegal activities, and 76 replies that Winston's one to talk because he and his friends are breaking the law too, same as him. I don't think Blizzard really thought about how the Petras act would contradict Article 20 of the UN or whatever. The point is that Overwatch is an illegal organization now and Winston initiating the recall was an illegal act under Petras.

Now, Blizzard being Blizzard, we have no idea what the Petras Act even is beyond declaring Overwatch to be disbanded, or kind of priority going after the reconstituted Overwatch would be given. Nor do we have any idea who actually answered the Recall besides Tracer. So far, it seems like it might have ONLY been Tracer, because Reflections shows everyone else that was a part of Overwatch still doing their own things all over the globe. No one seems to be in any hurry to restart Overwatch, or join up with the small group squatting in it's shadow.

TLDR, I wouldn't use actual international law to invalidate whatever is going on in-universe. Pharah and Mercy seem like the kind of couple that are already at the point where they're just content to spend time with each other doing anything, so even just going through the McDonald's Drive-thru with D.va in the backseat trying to get Pharah to order a McGangbang through the speaker is a fine way to just blow off steam after a week of pushing payloads.

Meanwhile I feel like anything Tracer's doing to get Widowmaker's affection is a grand battle of attrition so she's gotta go all out.
