Gonna be unmarked spoilers for the subtext parts here. I'm not spoiling anything in the plot, just a bit of the side quests and interactions.

6O and 2B were really flirty imo. That 2B thought of getting something for 6O was really sweet of her, given her personality. Not sure if they were doing it deliberately but the lily was one of the flowers that 2B brought up as an example in her conversation with 6O, after 2B got 6O a desert rose as a gift.

6O also knows a side to the commander that most people don't, implying that she's closer to her than most.

Then there's Jackass, the npc, and an unnamed android in the camp. The unnamed droid referred to Jackass as her girlfriend but it is unknown if she meant her significant other or her female friend, as ladies sometimes put it.. Jackass is also really tsundere to that droid, saying she got the cloak for her because she thought it would look good on her but that she would kill us if we told her about this (paraphrasing here, can't remember everything exactly).

Jackass is also close to the commander.

Then of course, we have our lovely twin androids. I've not finished route C but they look inseparable so far, with Popola looking upon Devola with much affection when she's drunk.

3 is a technical mess and a DLC nightmare. We're talking sub-20 FPS at times. All the the good and meaningful stuff in suck as expensive DLC. The fact that it's a prequel to a game that didn't really need one doesn't help things either.

Jury is still out on on Automata, but after 1 and a half play-through of it, I still think that Drakengard has the best story of the series.

It seems the bug was very unique to systems running win10 and 480s where the screen going white. Fucked me over during the tutorial 4 times but rolling back to 16.11.5 drivers solved it. Aside from restarting the game after it went black screen when adjusting the graphics, the game runs okay. It slightly chugs in areas with a ton of foliage. 60fps if AA is disabled.

Besides the usual example of 6O asking a girl out and being rejected, another example I found in game was 16D. Spoilers: 11B was one of the androids flying with you to the abandoned factory at the start, she gets shot down and 16D asks you to recover her body and things. She's dead, but you discover she was planning on going AWOL before she crashed and slowly died alone. If you don't tell 16D about it, she'll confess they were in a relationship and that 11B promised to protect her, then decides to convert to a combat model to avenge her death.

It more thoroughly covers the Pearl Harbor Descent of A2/No.2's squadron and their fight alongside the resistance survivors that Anemone was part of. There's one fairly outright yuri duo, and then a lot of the typical gay angst that comes from being a bunch of female androids in a desperate situation.

I very much doubt there's any sort of parental sentiment or relationships involved. At the end of the day they androids are effectively a self-reproducing and upgrading army.

So somewhere there are factories that collect all the data from the various sections of the resistance across the planet and then produce new lines of units to be sent out into combat. And some of the sections themselves also do upgrading and producing of their own (Like YoRHa).

It's pretty easy to read them as not dying. They are medical androids who have lived for thousands of years, and neither was all that injured in the fight. Popola took some hacking damage (enough to be unconcious by the time A2 gets there) but they are still alive enough to move out of the Tower's alcove and go lie down nearby at some point after A2 leaves.

As long as they weren't crushed by falling debris (and they aren't as far as we see), resistance members would show up to investigate pretty quickly and find them.

The primary two characters, 2B and 9S can either be interpreted as having a romantic relationship, or having a brother/sister relationship. There's more evidence that supports 2B as being a lesbian than being straight, but 9S is clearly obsessed with her, though once again, this can be interpreted as romantic or brotherly.

A2 is a lesbian, but it's not really relevant and doesn't come up much.

It is entirely up to you to decide whether you want 2B and 9S's relationship to be romantic or not, it was deliberately written to be either way based on your preference.

To some extent, sure, and you could feasibly repair the body itself into full working order again, but extensive damage starts degrading/corrupting the internal memory of the units such that you'd either have to reset to an earlier separate backup of the unit (effectively killing their current self and installing a copy of an early version) or full-on factory reset. It's one of the issues sort of explored within the game, are you still you if the current you is actually just a back up of someone who is now dead (and whose self that existed at that time is entirely gone) or are you someone different?

One of the first things that happens in game is that you have to suicide to destroy a group of enemies, and your consciousness is backed up right before the moment of destruction but 9S' isn't, so you wake up pretty much the same person, but the 9S you meet after waking up basically hasn't even met you yet and doesn't know anything about the whole mission you just went on beyond what he's been briefed on.

I'd say it's worth playing. It's a genuinely enjoyable game with pretty solid gameplay, and a really nice attention to detail in a lot of places, pretty great characters besides 9S and one of the best OSTs in years--plus a fair bit of canon yuri going on the background and a good amount of gogglable stuff beyond that.

I'd definitely say its strengths lie in the adventure game/RPG stuff- completing quests, meeting and learning about characters, getting background info, and going through the adventure. The combat is sort of facile after a certain point, unfortunately. But the overall experience made me love the game.

There were plenty of teammates who died in the Pearl Harbor descent but A2 loses her shit when No4 is struck down. She's also been thinking and dreaming about No4 specifically for years now. The game has a lot of intent, the fact that A2 has nightmares about losing No4, AND that the painful memories that haunt her when her system is freaking out from the EMP are also memories of No4 says a lot. Especially when you consider how many other units there were who could have been used for one or the other (even more so when you add in that there is an actual game character who was involved in those events, Anemone, who could have been used rather than a particular off-screen person).

It's likely that A2 just never wanted to make a vagina or nipples for herself since her girlfriend was dead. She and her squad didn't even want to give themselves proper names until after they had won their mission, so that might also be part of it too.
