I guess interquel would be the correct term. In any case, I'm thinking is a prequel of sorts because the series not only ends with the MC pairing with Koharu but the screenshots included are from the part where Mana tells Ranka that Koharu paired with a regular V-virus student to fight the pillar gods during the scheduled battles.

The voices fit the characters for the most part (I think Mirei should have a huskier voice) and thank god the script isn't as bad as it was with SK. They do take some liberties but nothing too serious and hey, is actually uncensored.

Bhikkhuni and Mermaid had different approaches and seek to appeal to different audiences s is no really comparable. Still, Bhikkhuni sales were pretty good for what it is.
