So, LWA confirmed will had 24 episodes
https://twitter.com/pKjd/status/807814799635558400
if was the best case scenario
also new season of Wake up Girl

Tamamushi is a national treasure.
>LWA has 24 episodes
On one hand, Trigger did Kill la Kill. That's 50% chances of not fucking up, and KlK was almost a fuck up as it was.
On the other, Trigger did Luluco. That's a 50% chance of fucking up, and a damn shame it was when they did with this.
>new season of WuG
Odd. I don't remember anything about this series, other than "male producer treated as a living prop", "rigged competition" and "the idol industry is a bitch".
Also no het and no yuri. Why should this new season have any?
>>2210188
WuG was never big on the yuri. Although if you glint hard enough, you might see some kind of Mayu harem. Mayu has the attention of both her old friend at I-1 Megu and new- Airi. There's also Shiho's obsessive forced rivalry with Mayu.
Shiho also has a close relationship with her understudy Rika in the I-1 manga.
Also important, new auditions being held for more WUG idols.

This will be a different show entirely, now that Yamakan isn't involved. It might even be good.
If you don't know who Yamakan is, search it. Guy is a joke.

Didn't Yamakan do the first 4 or so episodes of Lucky Star? Then he got the boot, someone else was brought in and the show immediately started to pick up.

>>2210336
I remember reading it till scanlator dropped it cause author gone into really strange areas for the plot.
Good thing is that anime should get to cover just the more normal part of the manga wiith very prominant yuri themes, side canon yuri couple, some subtext here and there and also one couple in the making and another yuri friendship going for the main girl.
First Kobayashi and now this got anime, they really want to make some monster yuri thing going.

Ok /u/, do you honestly think Citrus and NTR animes will be successful or not ?
>>2210482
Citrus will probably sell as much as Sakura Trick, but NTR will be a complete desaster.
>>2210482
If they will sell above 3k line they could be called a success.
But seeing how badly Flip Flap, Izetta or that gay ping-pong shows are predicted to sell, I'm not a big optimist for titles which only selling point is yuri drama between highschool girls.
Seeing how bad Aoi Hana and Sasameki Koto or even Yuri Kuma Arashi sold, I'm not an optimist. Citrus and NTR aren't really cute girls doing cute things together with soem side yuri context variety to appeal to waifufans for better sales. It all depends if they will manage to lure drama/soap opera female fans.
>>2210489
is there any yuri manga whose anime adaption could have a chance to be remotely successful? I think Yuzumori-san could make it
>>2210482
I hope not. I have nothing against them personally as I don't read them, but their success would encourage a future full of more garbage like that.
>>2210493
Well, yuri doesn't sell, so you would have to have something that draws in a profitable demographic despite it, it simply cannot be the main thing. Sadly enough maybe if that Nanashi no Asterism went down the full yaoi route maybe it could rake in some dough. Otherwise the yuri couple most be some insignificant side thing like the witches in Horizon. But anything primarily yuri? Highly unlikely.
>>2210493
Wish Gamma was an option.
>>2210493
To be honest I don't think that any manga that is primarily yuri would sell much, since romance in general tends to flop.
That idol manga by Hirao Auri and maybe Murcielago or Happy Sugar Life if I had to name some which have a chance of coming close to 3000.
>>2210496
Truth be told, everyone's hatred of Citrus and NTR are pretty much about their particular stories. The fact is they're still the kind of yuri anime people are wanting to see more of, namely romance-based yuri with actual kissing that's not tied down to a gimmick or power-up. If they succeed, then they'll be more likely to pick up the series that you do like.
So what's this about?
http://comic-walker.com/contents/detail/KDCW_MF06000038010000_68/
>>2210482
If they can pumps out exclusive merch, maybe. They sure as hell not gonna sell many discs.
>>2210506
>If they succeed, then they'll be more likely to pick up the series that you do like.
Not really, seeing what yuri anime get adaptation nowadays that looks like some random lottery on publishers part hoping they somehow will choose right, most cases it flops hard.
Kananzuki no Miko sold quite nicely in it's time, at best 12k at highest pick for first volume, but these were DVD releases. I can't really forgive Kaishaku how they could shit on such potential pairing so much later.
>>2210513
Do you think waifufans will buy anything related to NTR where they know some jerk guy is having sex with one girl or that they will buy Citrus mercs knowing both girls are in love with each other and none from them will ever want a male otaku?
If they would release some cute girly stuff aimed at females then maybe it could sell.
>>2210522
Obviously by merch I meant those ridiculously priced accessory, shirts and jacket, and stationery. Shoujo manga adaptation lives off those things.
Are there any ongoing /u/ romcoms?
>>2210446
I'm not, since i contribute a lot even some typeset but you're one of this denial as usual like this random image bump

Please tell me what you liked about the anime. I thought it was downright horrible.
>>2210614
maybe it seemed good back then because it was the only yuri available?
>>2210621
I rewatched it a few weeks ago and actually found it far more enjoyable than the first time around. I'm not a huge mech fan, but I found Chikane and Himeko's relationship entertaining and compelling in all its melodramatic glory.
>>2210491
>But seeing how badly Flip Flap, Izetta or that gay ping-pong shows are predicted to sell, I'm not a big optimist for titles which only selling point is yuri drama between highschool girls.
Izetta sold 2k already, tho.
>>2210614
Can't say I have a particularly objective perspective on it, since I watched it when I was still an impressionable youth and reeling from blows like YamiBou. After steeling myself and expecting the worst for months, the good end had me over the fucking moon.
I liked that Chikane was explicitly turbogay from really early on. I think the fight/confession scene is pretty powerful. At that age I liked melodrama better when there was more at stake than just people's feelings. The OST is solid. Himeko's character growth, even if it wasn't subtle or nuanced, was nice. I liked the overall structure of the plot, if not how the individual orochi characters and fights were handled. The colour design was overall pretty nice (even if some characters had questionable palettes).
Still mad about the 8th orochi being fucking nothing though.
>>2210294
Yeah, he did. He was also accused of sexual harrassment then, and recently again.
He complains about anime being for otaku, but does the worse otakus anime out there. The guy put panty-shot on an idol anime. No one does that.
In fact, he complained recently that he can't put panty-shot anymore or people will judge him.
He made old men molesting the girls, and I believe it's not a social comentary, but his creepy fetish, seeing his history.
The guy is a joke. Everything he made is stupid. LS just got better after he left it.
He's not yuri friendly at all, too.
>>2210633
First time I tried watching KnM I was like 12 years old and there was a panty shot in the first episode. I found that so lewd and impure that I didn't watch the rest of it. Only watched it years later.
Oh, I was so pure.

I'll humour the twat. After all, Mugino is the most unintentional comedian of the year with his baby-like rants on pixiv.
So, if one wanted to try their hand at making sexually explicit yuri fanfiction, where would they post it? Would they post it on Adult Fanfiction or an Archive of Our Own? Do they have writing standards? Because AFF looks like the website equivalent of a rotting sinking ship.
>>2210847
Definitely AO3

>>2210847

>>2210482
Romance, not just yuri, tends to do poorly. I suspect both of them will do terrible since they don't really have any gimmick.
Citrus actually has a strong start though, but afterall, it's just romance.
>>2210489
I think Citrus would do well, meanwhile NTR would do great. Now before someone tries to burn me at the stake, i think it would do well because of how sexual the series is. Its one step away of being considered a hentai, so i think due to the "service" alone, it would sell well.

Piece of advice if you don't want to get bullied and if you haven't figured out yet. Just stop fucking making threads. Why trying to be an OPfag when your English is shit? Just let somebody with good English do it. We can let you "contributing" anything you want but having you starting threads is enough to cause shitstorms.
You following rules? Is shitposting on that other board with a different name a rule? Is making shitty edits and typeset also a rule? Does ban-evading mean following rules to you? If you really want to be useful in this board, then this will be your greatest contribution. Just. Stop. Posting.

>>2211174
>>2211176
That's the thing, though. It's not an official rule, it's just a moany preference from a vocal minority. Everyone else was just happy to just use this thread as intended before people specifically came to troll Mugis who, let's face, is fucking annoying, but isn't breaking any actual rules. As long as people aren't making new friends the instant one hits bump limit (or shit in them so much that we end up with about three of them), I honestly don't see what the problem is outside of "eww, tripfag".
There's literally nothing stopping you from continuing to use the saging thread. Think of it as your own private club.

>2211184

The idea for a page 10 rule seems to be prevalent in multiple slow boards so I figured it was a pretty relevant one even if multiple vocal minorities wanted it.
But meh, personally I'd rather the page 10 rule (or at least a lesser version of it) be enforced to prevent
>new friends the instant one hits bump limit (or shit in them so much that we end up with about three of them)
Also think you meant "threads" instead of "friends" here.
>>2211188
Someone wanted a gender neutral term for those who enjoy yuri so I mentioned the idea of a gender neutral term for yaoi.
>>2211191
I just wish there was more yuri where both girls are wearing suits. Too often one sticks to a dress which is disappointing.

>>2211192
Still it's not worth making 100 shitposts over (particularly when people could've kept their arguing to the previous thread instead of constantly bumping the new one). I'd say 6/7-10 is a fairly safe region, usually because interest in the saging thread is completely lost by that point.

The argument I commonly hear for this is that yuri, while allegedly being about lesbians, bears too little resemblance to their own experiences, and that gap is irritating. Think of that what you want, but so much is obvious.
When now someone continues making new threads earlier, like Mugino, other will do them even earlier. That's how we ended up with new threads at bump limit, which is really pointless on such a slow board.
Most agreed to wait, but Mugino started the whole shit again.
I predict after the next Mug-thread at page 8, we'll get one even earlier by someone else.
I doesn't bother me that much, but others are really angry about it. And all other long runner threads, like the Korra or Overwatch thread reach easily over 500 posts, so I have no idea why we can't wait like them.

I usually don't think too much about people's tastes because everyone is different and has different expierences, but sometimes I also ask myself why a lesbian could dislike/hate yuri. As a lesbian I live for yuri, sometimes it's frustrating but other times you can read or watch something that is really satisfying or even close to reality. So one answer could be that who doesn't relate to yuri probably didn't look for the "right" yuri yet. For example, the majority of "yuri manga written by female for females", that are somewhat autobiographical, are very good for me. You can also find some metaphorical real life experiences even in those super melodramatic highschool works, like self-discovery and self acceptance. And then there are also very nice works made by male yuri mangakas, like Prism or After Hours.
I personally couldn't care less about yaoi, because I'm not remotely interested in males in media. But then I know a lot of gay males that love yuri, hate yaoi and barely interested in bara, so who knows?

That meaning, not enough rape?
I mean, I know a girl who likes yaoi. She said she wanted to like yuri, but because it wasn't as hardcore as yaoi, she couldn't.
And yes, that meaning, not enough rape, in her case.
>>2211346

More or less started getting into yuri (and hentai in general) and started browsing both /u/ and/d/before ultimately just using /u/ exclusively. This was probably around 06 where Lucky Star had just started and every week someone would be guaranteed to dump those FranziskaxAdrian and AerisxYuffie doujins.
>>2211780
Was a teenage anime fan looking for masturbation material. It was always to solo girl pics but I wanted more.
Found out "hentai" was supposed to be more hardcore and sexy. But I was turned off by men being in it. Came across /u/ at first strictly for the porn. One thing lead to another (actually multiple things lead to multiple other things) and I also found out that yuri romance makes me really happy and excited and is very heartwarming in a way that no other types of romance is for me.
Now I'm a yurifag of the highest degree even thoughI'm a straight male. Sorry.

Sailor Moon, I'm an oldfag.
I loved Ami shipping her with Makoto before I got canon pairing in it in form of Haruka and Michiru.
Then I was hooked and I was looking for girl/girl romance in almost every anime I watched from that time, but 90s weren't really a good place to get that compared to luxury nowaday yuri fan has and most are still complaining about it.
I won't hide I wanted to see Lina Inverse have some moment with girls in original Slayers anime but that never got anywhere.
>>2211780

I guess I watched something with yuri and enjoyed the couple-dynamics more. It was rather fast after I discovered internet-anime, I remember I shipped Mayu x Nana from Elfen Lied back then. I also really liked Elfen Lied, because I was a teen.
Hm, the same year I watched Lucky Star, which was my first big thing were I had interest in yuri.,but at this point I already liked it. I watched SP shortly afterwards I think.

The one episode that focused on them in S2 is still one of my favourite episodes of any anime.
>>2211780
I was always kind of into it without realizing, I guess. Earliest thing I can think of is that I really loved Claymore back when it aired and rewatched it a lot, and thought Raki was a piece of shit for getting in the way of the comradery between the Claymores and just being annoying in general. I was also really into DnD drow of both the Lolthite and Eilistraeen flavors which are pretty fucking gay, and I consumed anything related to them that I could get my hands on.
A big sort of epiphany for me was when I read F/SN and the first sex scene happened with Rin going all out on Saber before Shirou took over. I was extremely into it up until Rin stopped and it just kind of immediately made me go from like a 9 to a 2. I didn't really realize what I wanted though until Madoka, which caused me to eagerly seek out and consume everything yuri related with no shame.
>>2211780
I don't remember what caused it, but during my long high school holidays, a strange longing built up in my heart and only yuri could temporarily resolve it.

I started watching Sailor Moon dubbed in my language on tv when I was 4 years old, it was one of my favourite anime when I was a kid and I remember that the third season (the one with Sailor Uranus and Neptune) was my most loved one. The manga is an excellent comedy which makes a habit of juxtaposing lesbian sex with plot/drama/male characters being angry and serious. The relationships ultimately end in not especially well written het/death, but if you have a decent pair of goggles or are willing not to take the story too seriously I would say it has great entertainment value.

>>2214746
Sad too because Mari and Saki are simultaneously one of the most explicit /u/ couples in anime with direct romance and sex while also being the worst type of /u/ that anime can offer. The hetstupidity was basically what got them all killed so in a way homosexuality was the answer but society fucked itself over by brainwashing them to think it was just a phase. The backstabbing het was stupid but the ending was just as bad. Saki was a good character and didn't deserve to go straight.
I haven't watched an anime since I think Lesbianassassins Riddle or something. Has there been anything noteworthy on the gay side since, not excluding the stuff that's airing this season?
