I am not at all hype for Andromeda, yet I can't shake the nagging feeling that I'll get it at some point eventually.

Even though I only loved Mass Effect 1, while 2 and 3 bored me to tears.

She is just a very polarizing character, there seems to be two groups of people, those who like her and those who hate her. My guess those who hate her are the ones who find her confusing and difficult to understand and/or don't agree with her opinions or just find her flat-out annoying. It is also possible that it is the design or personality, maybe both that make many people dislike her. I myself found her to be a little hard to get and understand (the way she speaks, and not being entirely straightforward and her motivation etc) but I did end up liking her in the end, and I admit I am not a fan of her design, the face and hair is just weird.

After reading about her I can understand why some might dislike her given she doesn't change her opinions but still she doesn't seem as bad as Tallis.

I still plan on playing as a female mage when I finally play Inquisition and I'll still romance Sera.

On a unrelated note played as a rogue in 2 and ended up losing Isabella for the first time. Never had her in party to get her friendship high enough.

Actually there are now. There was a Moff in Lords of the Sith that's a lesbian and Dr. Aphra from the Vader comics (and now her own ongoing) is bisexual and had a run in with one of her exes.

The story in DA2 was solid along with gameplay. Thoroughly enjoyed playing as a rogue even when I usually play a mage.

Hawke is definitely one of my favorite characters a pity nothing goes right for her and her life is just one long tragedy.

My only complaint is Kirkwall is boring. A pity cause they could have a made being stuck in a single city fun if it was more varied in locations.

The thing is I liked the boss fights and general idea but Tallis and her ridiculous pro Qun shtick got old fast.

Plus the unique rogue gear you get at the end looks terrible. Luckily the Champion gear and rogue dlc looks good and is viable at end game.

That's not being a sidekick. Hawke's a reluctant protagonist, but she's still the protagonist. She's the star of the show, she's the one everyone defers to, and she's the one who gets things done.

In Mark of the Assassin her only purpose is as a device to support Tallis. Her decisions don't matter at all and she seems to exist solely to be tricked and used by Tallis. And just let her walk away in the end because... reasons?

I played default with some freckles. Vanilla sheps are pretty cute. Every character in 3 just looked terrible. All shiny and pornstar-y. The women are worse than the men, but they're not great either. I only managed to get about 15 minutes into the game before I gave up in disgust and I've never gone back. Such a disappointment.

Yeah I made a custom one, mostly because I really dug the ponytail hair Femshep got in 3. It made for some really nice progression by starting with short hair in 1 and then it getting progressively longer until she has to wear it like that in the end.
