There is only one you need. Basically, there's only one Mass Effect fanfiction trilogy that you'll ever need, because it's humongous. And has ridiculous amounts of companion material. And replaces the asswiped toilet paper story of the games with a shiny new roll.

I seriously doubt these people have really played the alpha, since it would have been a super crude unfinished mess at that point that there would be a ton of features (including most graphics, audio, etc) not even present in the game.

Most of the time Alpha builds are "Somewhat feature complete" but are really the first "just barely playable with a fuckton of bugs" build. Beta builds are typically "Feature complete" and are done right before crunch, where they remove everything that doesn't work right, innovative, or fun before the game goes gold.

Of course, fucking Bungie fucked up our perception of "Beta" and "Alpha" builds by releasing polished Halo demos as "Beta" builds during the Xbox 360 days.

Hmm, actually, now that I recall, in the following time period till the gang gets slaughtered (except Ciri), Ciri was kind of fucked up in the head, so take that into account - maybe due to all the violence they did, but maybe because of those rape events?

Before the kids die, she gets away from them with some random (middle-aged!) guy, he starts to grope her and wants to fuck with her, but she lets him (sic - I was, like, WTF?). The sex only gets stopped when he gets shot by somebody passing by (gee, thanks). After that she returns to the other kids to find them dead, including her lover. But the narration does show that she is really cared about Mistle, and also at the end she goes to see where they are burried. But the appearance of possible male love interest at the end kind could suggest that Sapkowski meant her to end up with a guy in the end (even if he didn't feel like pressing it overtly). After all, he was an older guy in Poland, when he wrote it, so conservative opinions in such things would not really be any surprising.

P.S.
I checked in the book, and actually the morning after is described. It seems that while she was unable to resist in the night and didn't want to do it when Mistle started to go at her, she didn't mind that much in the end.

Basically, when Mistle chased off the boy, she kept Ciri half-undressed and lied next to her, half comforting her with "you won't be alone anymore" and half putting her hands on her. The book says something in the vein of Ciri's feelings of shame and disgrace giving way and it starting to feel good or something.
Then the next day, Ciri wakes up first, covers the girl with blanket and kisses her on the hair "after a very short moment of hesitating" and "wiping a tear away". And she thoughts to herself that "she's not alone anymore".

Oh, actually that is not all. After that peacefully sounding bit, she runs away to a creek and washes herself for a long time in the cold water, "as if trying to wash away something that couldn't be washed away any more", and crying a lot. So it was traumatizing in the end, although it was probably not just the rape, but also the fact that she became a violent killer brigand, when she joined up with the guys.

I haven't read all the books in a while, but from what I can remember, the whole time leading up to the point where Mistle slept with her could probably be summarized by her trying to escape from bad guys, getting captured by some other bad guys, being tied up in a house with one of the other members of Mistle's gang, having to listen to the bad guys' plans of raping her, somehow fleeing from the bad guys with the help of that one gang member before they can do anything to her, just to have that one particular gang member try to have his way with her, after catching up with the rest of the group and setting up camp somewhere.
So she was already not able to catch a break up until that point, and then Mistle shows up, seemingly saving Ciri from that situation, only to have her own way with her, mere minutes after.
So, all in all, not a really 'romantic' first time, but considering all the alternatives...
let's just say the world of the Witcher is not a good place to be a woman in, no matter their sexual preference.

I gotta say I'm frustrated with Fallout 4's difficulty and I say that after just finishing Bloodborne.

The game throws way too much stuff at you too early; armies of raiders and ghouls, a freakin deathclaw and turrets littered all over a town?

I haven't even found an appropriate hub town yet.

To think I found the Orphan of Kos and Logarius easier than this game.

Setting the difficulty down to easy at least allowed me to finally reach Piper. After New Vegas I'm in awe of how articulate the facial expressions are.

Also I know easy mode is frowned upon but I don't mind difficulty so long as I learn or see progress in some form. Like with the Orphan of Kos in Bloodborne I saw a steady improvement.

On normal mode in Fallout 4 the only thing I learned was there were armies of enemies at every turn that took no damage and caused me to hemorrhage supplies.

Haven't had a chance to upgrade anything. I was just surprised at having to fight deathclaws, and armies of ghouls and raiders with barely any supplies.

Easy mode at least feels evened out for now. After I have a better feel for the game I'll go back to normal mode. I mean what's the point of normal mode if you're not having fun?

Decent Bloodtinge, Arcane build for my first character with these games I make a sole pve character so I can level with impunity and try out everything. I like to use the bowblade supplemented with magic, switching to the chikage for melee.

I was just unprepared for how aggressive The Moon Presence was. Also I loved how Gerhman killed me as I killed him. Still got the win though, was charging an arrow as he leapt into the air for his razor wind attack.

honestly, that sounds made up. If anything, I'd argue that people trying to badmouth the games for "being sexist & racist", and it's fantasy world based on medieval poland for somehow 'not having enough black people in it' would be much more likely to drive certain people away from playing it.
Otherwise, if you enjoyed the books or were just curious about the Witcher series in general, why would a bunch of loudmouthed idiots and their 'no grills allowed' fanclub on the internet be the factor that stopped you from enjoying the games?

While it being an argument for there not being enough fanfics is debatable, a thing I can agree with is that probably not a lot of female players were interested in the games. Presumably because of the way it was being marketed, and mainly playing as a male character with little to no customization options and a already heavily developed backstory probably wasn't all that appealing to most of them, either.

I play fallout with a x4 even damage mod so i'm pretty use to getting one shot. But i recomend any mod that evens out damage on higher difficulties because otherwise everything becomes a bullet sponge.

Anyways i learned a few ways to survive and they go hand in hand with the setting. 1. Always sneak and check every corner before you turn. Think of how someone really in that situation would survive. It's not guns a blazing.
2. Use power armor if you need to kill a ton of people on a quest.
3. Bring a companion. They tend to pull agro more than you which allows you to aboid a lot of bullshit damage.
4. Look up the difficulty map. It's something you'll figure out for yourself anyways but dfficulty ramps up the further you are from sanctuary. So as long as you know that you wont run straight into deathclaws too early.
5. Make bases with water pumps so you have somewhere to heal easily.
6. Don't be scared to run away. You can always come back later.

Anyways by following those tips you should be able to thrive on any difficulty unless you enter a bullshit zone where some guy in power armour hidden way above your head nukes you from afar.

The thing is I was pretty good at New Vegas, never really felt threatened on normal mode in that game. And yeah I predominantly use stealth when possible.

I switched back to normal mode in Fallout 4 after I got Piper. And things seem to be going well I got a bunch of great gear from hubris comics. Including Grognak's axe and the upgraded Ilver Shroud coat.

As long as I'm not fighting say a super mutant overlord, master, and suicider all at once(yeah that happened) I can destroy most enemies in melee.

Right now I want to raise Piper's affinity. So far I got and succeeded at two flirt attempts, I was going to help out the Brotherhood of Steel but I should probably help the Minutemen out first if I want to raise Piper's affinity right?

Looking forward to Liberty Prime's resurrection though. Not gonna lie it's sacrifice tugged at the heartstrings in Fallout 3.

I've scoured the internet for a certain image over the last few days and I can't find it, so this thread is probably my only hope.

Well there's a tiny bit of Romance in Horizon Zero Dawn, one of them is a guy from your village, the other is the head guard of the Capital city of Meridian. There's also a female blacksmith if you catch her early in the game and she comes with you to Meridian. It's nothing serious though just light flirting, Aloy seems to flirt the most with Petra though. The other two she kinda friendzone no matter what.

I'm only about 50% through the game according to the stats page but so far there are a disappointing number of female NPCs in the game and even less have potential to ship Aloy with. I was starting to think the girl in the proving would make for a good ship but she didn't last long. At least Aloy consistently ignores or shoots down any guy who flirts with her although the fact that older guys keep hitting on her is annoying in any context.
It got my hopes up but there was Ella Ponte's voice clip in the the beginning of the game with actual plain text /u/.
