People have been shitting on this series forever, and even I was about to give up on it during the arc with the other sisters, but it has gotten FAR better since then. I used to enjoy it on a "so bad it's good" level, now I just find it good. There's a lot more humor, relationships progress, and the first arc we had post Yuzu and Mei entering a relationship was an arc focusing on a side character (Harumi), which was both the best arc so far and just a really fucking smart move.

I'm a stupidly large fan of citrus so I've actually read it closely and thought about it a lot (if you're interested, I wrote a rather large essay on it, basically, examining it in closer detail; but I don't like just suddenly posting my shit here), and basically I'm quite certain that although citrus is a romance series, it's "about" other things and always has been. There's evidence in that alone in having the presidential election/Harumi arc. The series is actually basically about the freedom of youth, and more specifically girlish youth. There's a lot you can do with that, there are other characters who can get focused on, and so on and so forth.

I'm not really worried about where it goes or for how long, but I'm always curious as to what the next arc will focus on.

I think the characters are lovable enough on their own, even with all the baggage they had to drag around in the manga. But Citrus really needs to "streamline" a lot of its character development and drama to make a suitable 12 episode anime with clear beginning, climax and end.

Honestly this chapter made me realized just how much of a couple they really are. Mei is still getting used to having someone see her the way Yuzu does but she likes it and is also able to bring Yuzu out of her depression. That's a huge step from what she was like at the beginning.

I'm very happy we are finally looking into Yuzu's character and her past. This chapter basically admits Yuzu never knew what love was until she met Mei. It's also pretty much confirmed she is gay since she never really had an interest in boys.

The ring scene is very important because their love is not only sexual but emotional and intimate. Yuzu kissing Mei's tears. Mei crying because she is so happy.

They are pretty much coming to marriage status. Their relationship now is starting to resemble a bit of Clanned after story.

Readers need to know that Japaneses couples are pretty tame once they start dating, and madly in love with each other.
