I don't think thats true, even in Japan the lesbian vampire meme (I'm using the word here in its proper form, not the bastardized internet version of it) exsist and there is always more and more content of it coming out. Due to how niche of a fetish lesbian vampires are it's hard for one person to see and keep track of everything, at least while still having a normal/daily life. Carmilla is a fairly short novel. It was originally part of an anthology after all.

Carmilla is way, way less about Upstanding British Gentlemen hunting the Foreign Monster and far more about Laura's increasingly intense friendship with Carmilla. Like, the vampire stuff is there, but much of the novel is taken up with Laura and Carmilla just hanging out and Laura completely failing to pick up on the giant red (and rainbow) flags Carmilla keeps waving in her face.

Vampire horror? Yeah, kinda. Pure yuri romance? About as much as Victorian England would allow back in the day.

I wouldn't bother with the actual series. In the manga, the author teases the vampire x werewolf yuri subtext but doesn't actually go anywhere. And they fucked up the anime by turning into a lame het harem. I just enjoy reading the manga for the "classic monster" encounters.

There is a man later on in vol 1 and he kind of pesters Yasuko, trying to go round a school festival with her, but she can barely stand to look at him. He seems to be even less of an issue than the guys in Seifuku no Vampiress Lord.

We're about to hit the bump limit soon. As discussed earlier in the thread I don't think there is enough activity to warrent an immediate followup thread/general, but I do think that there is enough activity and enthusiasim for vampire yuri to warrent some sort of followup thread later.
