Izetta sharing the secret of the witch's broom.

During the time leading up to the witchcraft trials in Europe, the staple bread was made with rye. Ergot is mentioned in Shakespeare's plays, and turns up in virtually every contemporary writing of the witchcraft age. In particular, it is the inevitable central ingredient in the ointment that witches rubbed their flying broomsticks with.

You see, when ergot is eaten, there was the risk of death, but when absorbed through the thin tissues of the female genitals, the hallucinogenic effects were more pronounced with less ill effects. The modern image of a witch riding a broomstick was inspired by the sight of a woman rubbing herself on the drug coated smooth stick of her broom, writhing in the throes of hallucinations, and no doubt, some intense orgasms as well. Jonas is a dead meat and even he knew that. He still have less deathflag than Kisaragi but that record is pretty hard to beat. Now all I want from this show is one dramatic showdown between Fine and her maid where her maid sacrifices herself to save Fine accompanied by them hymnos music in the background. You know, like that cliff scene with Mashiro and Aoi in Mai Otome.

Also pretty interesting that we're 5 episodes in and everyone but Fine, Izetta and that tiny maid are either boring, bad, or dead. This episode is good, but it is sorely lacking this show greatest strength Fine and Izetta flirting compared to previous episodes.

Event contradictions are no problem if it's an AU or canon-divergence. Personality contradictions (i.e. OOC) is a pain in the ass though. A character can be revealed to be not afraid of fist fights despite her mild-mannerism, or athletic despite her nerdiness.

That said, I understand people's enthusiasm. Liking a show so much that you have to create something right away is far better than letting the fire go.

My personal favorites are "To The Stars" and "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality".

The first one is a madoka far future fanfic that is fairly self-consistent and the author incorporated some fan theories that were thrown around on /a/ after the tv series finished. It has great scifi worldbuilding. And a side-dish of yuri, Sex happens of-screen though, so to speak.

The second one, well, opinions are divided on that. It's basially a "what if harry were a very intelligent science nerd and his opponents adjusted for his increased smartness". The author gets preachy especially in the early chapters and on a few occasion inserts way-too-blatant references. But with several of the the major characters having plans within plans (think Aizen, L or David Xanatos) makes it an interesting read.

It goes to such great lengths in setting up these major weaknesses for Izetta and these annoying tryhard soldiers are so huffed about taking her down. Obviously, one is bound to trip her up sooner or later. And since this show has such a hard on for "realism", she's more than likely not coming out unscathed.
