there's ways to get a side pairing in and have it not feel like pandering or receiving unnecessary focus. but writers can fail to do so, and when it doesn't work it sticks out real bad.

Bastion and Zen are robots, while Winston is a gorilla so they aren't even relevant in talks about sexuality.

Even the 8 that's left isn't being put in the same room but is doing their own thing somewhere in the world (Mercy doing her research, McCree doing OW's dirty work, Tracer piloting an airship etc)

That's not to say everyone who was chosen to represent their respective background in OW just happens to be gay, but if your point was that the group is too homogeneous (like "they are all soldiers working for the same division") for everyone to be the same sexuality, then it's not.

I know it's far too early to pass judgement on whether a character's a good or bad guy, but is Sombra supposed to be a good guy, bad guy, or merely on her own side?

Based on some of the Sombra clues that have been decoded, it is suggested that Sombra's a kind of freedom fighter in a similar vein to Lucio, using hacking skills in the attempt to takedown a corrupt business taking over her people.

I don't even think Ive read any fic that featured all the characters that appear in game, but even then, it's still not 22 as the likes of Bastion can't even be gay.
And even if the author takes everyone else and puts them in the same room, that still doesn't erase the fact they all come from different backgrounds or that if OW is up and running then that would mean they are only a few out of many agents, so it's not 22 co-workers but 200 co-workers and it just so happens that the named ones are all gay.

That would work if those 22 weren't the only ones we were introduced to. One of my previous points was "it depends on whether the characters have a world around them". So it's not "200 co-workers", it's "22 co-workers that supposedly have 178 but we never see them and they might as well not exist".

Nobody likes Zen in QP, for example, so you can play her there. If they just have an average not pro McClick, you still can survive if you don't make yourself a giant target.

Pharah is my main hero but she is in need of a buff. Be wary of hitscan heroes and learn the maps more thoroughly. Also try to predict the movement of the enemy and launch your rockets to that spot.

Masters ranked player, with quite a few hours into Pharah, checking in. Everyone has given some good advice so I'll just mention other bits.

Any map with rooftops/ varying elevation is a good Pharah map. Notably, the payload portion of Numbani and Hollywood, all of Route 66 and the first 2 checkpoints of El Dorado.

I don't recommend Pharah for any capture point map (maybe besides Temple of Anubis) because the 2nd chokepoints are so tight that a coordinated team will kill you. Take your chance in the Illios/Illang/Nepal maps, sometimes a good Pharah can carry the team, other times youre splash damage will only tickle a team.

Don't be afraid to ask for a Zen healing orb. Don't expect/want a pocket Mercy because the more she's in the air with you, the more likely your Mercy will die.

Your concussive blast can be used to knock people off the map. Youtube has a few videos; watch and learn where to throw them for sneaky kills.

Be wary of:
Hitscan, Hanzo, Zen, Tracer (her range is deceptively further than you think), DVa, Mei's alt fire

Helpful tricks:
-Concussive blast a Reinhardt/Roadhog towards your teammates to break into a chokepoint
-Don't hang onto your ult "for a better time", even if you can just take out the enemy Mercy/Lucio, its worth it
-you can boost out of a Zarya ult
-the higher you are in the air, the harder it is to predict and lead your target's movements so don't venture into the 20,000 elevation
-in a lot of maps that you can fall off of, Pharah can "fake" it and drop off the edge and use it for cover/to reload/wait for CD
- Pharah is better for offense than defense
- its going to take time for you to git gud at predicting how an enemy will move, especially if Pharah is your first projectile character.

Don't give up!
