I kinda like how it's under appreciated here at /u/. Makes for a more comfy thread.

Some people are so picky sometimes complaining about genericness and stuff. If it's about gay girls exhibiting supernatural powers while playing sports, I'm always in.

This is my fav show of the season btw. It just fuels me up with energy every time I watch it. It's far more enjoyable than the super serious Izetta where I'm 76% sure one of them is going to die come the finale.

There's only one chapter translated at the moment, but it's still pretty darn gay. The anime does have the benefit of having full color blushing, and at least based on currently scanlated material feels less rushed (the first chapter is adapted into three episodes), but you still get all that lovely hand-drawn sweat.

Just watched this show today and I'm glad I did.

Even though everyone had been telling me it's very gay, I avoided it because the artstyle and "sweaty" mention made me think it's going to be one of those gross oily loli style. I was bored enough to check it out myself today, and the art was decent. Generic but not gross. Regular sweat on regular teenagers.

The initial episodes are pretty boring up until the Captain showed up. I really dislike the constant cutesy moeshit dumbing down a sport anime. So as long as they show serious characters being hotblooded and badass, I'm in.

The storyboard feels a lot weaker than Saki. The thing with sport series is that you must glorify the characters' techniques into practically superpower. A match has gotta transform into an epic fantasy battle with explosion and superspeed and shit. Shakunetsu's attempts are still too lame. I need something epic like exaggerating a powershot into a kamehameha giant ball of energy that obliterates everything in its path. Let's see if the future matches will be better.

There's nearly no complaining about the amount of gay, except for the fact that Kururi stated clearly that it's friendship with Zakuro. It's disappointing to see one of the two gayest couples in the show so far confirms we're just delusional. In Saki, no lesbian call the girl they blush at a "friend."

Tl;dr: Basically discount Saki. Enjoyable if you're thirsty for sports with lesbians.

Sure Izetta had some gay moments, but since the show takes itself sooo seriously, not having the two leads end up together explicitly feels like a cop out at best.
