AdaShima vol 7 comes on Nov 10 http://dengekibunko.jp/newrelease/978-4-04-892517-4/
>page 10 already
Let's talk about what we've read recently or currently reading.
Recently, I've been reading some completed WNs from narou and decided to read something from Kawaki. I started with one of his older works: あい・らぶ・まみぃ!I wasn't expecting anything particularly original with that premise and set my expectations low but as I read I found myself enjoying it quite a bit. It lacks narration, MC is a walking clichefest but it's still an entertaining read, especially parts with Sarina. In other words it's like any other not complete shit WN ever.
I used to post in these threads a bunch, but I haven't finished a light novel in ages. I think the last yuri text I read was probably a bargain-bin kindle novel called 社会人百合女とヤンデレ女子高校生. The title caught my eye but it was pretty terrible, I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
>>2165683
The only LN I've read has been A Lollipop or a Bullet. I prefer the manga adaptation, especially character design wise, but it's still one of the saddest vaguely /u/ related stories I've read.
>>2165683
>>page 10 already
Probably because we had three (has it been three already?) maxed out threads. It's not like there's a constant stream of yuri LNs out there and it's a super niche topic considering it's limited to Moon speakers. People shared their recs and impressions and we sorta ran out of steam. Exporting AdaShima to a separate thread was a terrible idea all around, for both parties arguably, since AdaShima alone doesn't have enough material to warrant a constant thread either.
I was kinda in charge of the torrent. Initially I/we wanted to make an update version once every three months because we expected more LN sharing (ala drama CD thread)... but that never happened. Which is a bit of a shame but it can't be helped.
>>2177128
>we expected more LN sharing
You'd have to buy them first to share though.
If anyone cares first volume of 4 cours after is under kindle unlimited campaign.
>>2177392
>4 cours after
Anyone reading this? I was kind of lukewarm on it after the first volume and haven't picked up the next two yet. Did it get better?
>>2172469
>I prefer the manga adaptation
After reading the manga, I think I agree with you. 99% of the time I prefer the source material, but I like how concise the manga is and how certain things aren't revealed until later. There are a couple points which I think worked a bit better in the novel but they're fairly negligible.
>わたしも好きだよ。

Has anyone read ひっぱたけ!?
It's written by a yurifag who has worked on the VD Bhikkhuni and Cross Ange Vita games.
Heranes: Trials of A Demigoddess is basically a parody of the trials of Hercules, where a daughter of Hera goes through trials. Yuri/action centric with a dash of humor

I heard it's actually anything but fun and games because of DRM but I never tried myself so don't quote me on that.
It certainly would result in better quality 'scans' though, and nobody would have to destroy their books in the process.

Don't think DRM matters if you're screenshotting. I took this with my phone so the resolution probably sucks, but just confirming it's possible.

>>2244913
It's the Adachi and Shimamura author.
Description also seems to be about relationship between two girls.
I'd say it's probably safe
Stories about being a maid to an ojou-sama are something I'm always hoping to find, and I came across the Girl's Kingdom series on Kindle Unlimited.
It's a cute, lighthearted fantasy version of an ojou-sama school where more than half the girls are maids in training, hoping to be employed by the other students, upper-class girls whose high tuition fees are subsidizing the education of the commoners.
The protagonist accidentally joined the school only knowing it would be free, but she immediately ends up acting as the personal maid of one of the most important girls in the school.
>>2246383
>Stories about being a maid to an ojou-sama are something I'm always hoping to find
I've read some web novels that might interest you: メイドと紅茶とお嬢さま~ビクトリア紅茶商 交易録~ and アリス嬢と寡言なシャロ. Both about actual ojou-samas and maids set in Victorian era.
First one reads like a Strawberry Panic. If you felt blueballed by the absence of dance scene in Izetta this one might cheer you up.
The second one has a 15 years age gap with ojou-sama being younger. I thought it had nice sexual tension at first half. After they admit their feelings to each other it becomes quite smutty.
Also, there's another WN that was officially written by Kadokawa's author: オートドールは朽ちた世界で夢を見る. Maid here is a robot of a maid series. She acts as one around her newly found ojou-sama. The description makes it look like Kino but with robowaifu instead of bike which it actually isn't. It wasn't a comfy road movie I was hoping for but it still turned out to be a nice read.
>>2247234
>15 years age gap with ojou-sama being younger

If the ojou is a loli or thereabouts it's an instant Pulitzer for me.

Adachi + Yagate...
So I finally got around to reading this web novel that someone here mentioned a while back, and I have to say it sucks. On top of being badly written there's pretty much no yuri (although the author does say the novel involves "girls' love" on syosetsu). I kept reading despite the boring story hoping something would eventually happen between Orurea and An, but there was barely a hint of anything romantic and there were even a few scenes where Orurea admires how handsome a man is. Would not recommend.
>>2261127
I think I remember seeing one negative review on Amazon mention it was like 100% talking.
Look at what I found while browsing novelupdates
Yuri Maid Cafe

Lately there are a lot of digital-only yuri novels, why? Do they sell so bad they can't even repay the paper? I want physical books!
>>2262515
If you see among the "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" there are other digital-novels from different authors and they all look interesting. Like https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B01MS4PP3C/
with Morishima Akiko's art.
>>2262525
That one's a "comic novel". Have you looked at what those things actually are? It's like a poor compromise medium between short stories and manga.
I'm not sure if there's any physical publishing done for those (mostly they're BL or TL stuff).
Not solely yuri, but it has hints of it.
The yuri pair from Bento got their own ending in the Omnibus style the love novel had.

Wish there were some more fantasy and sci-fi yuri LNs. Pic related.
Also, I've noticed a bunch of LNs have been getting translated into English lately, but it seems limited to whatever gets a popular anime (i.e DanMachi, Re:Zero, etc).

This just got released today. It's by the same author of Papa Iukoto wo Kikinasai. Seems to be about girls who can transform into fairy tale characters or something. Main character turns into Cinderella.

>>2258697
Honestly asking where can I read the English translates of these novels? There are couple of series that look very interesting
>>2278796
First someone would have to translate them.
There was a translation started on chapter 1 of Adachi to Shimamura on Baka-Tsuki, but it's incomplete and hasn't been updated in two years
Then there's 9ethtranslations who do various web novels like Manowa, but from what I've read they seriously need some QC
So has anyone read this yet? There's no kindle version so if I buy it at all it won't be for a while.
>>2280666
Not yet, but I leafed through it and I'm disappointed by the lack of illustrations. There are only the cover and a color illustration at the beginning with two girls simply sitting on the beach, I didn't see anything else. I expected at least normal LN level of illustrations.
>>2280886
They didn't keep it secret that what Nakatani was doing was the cover and 口絵

>>2278790
It's about two college age girls traveling to a parallel world and taking on urban legends/horror stories like Kunekune.

I had fun reading it despite not knowing much about those kind of stories, so I would definitely recommend people give it a shot.

There's some web novels around though. Unfortunately I suck with the names and don't have the links here, sigh.
Other World Lottery and the Tower of Gods or something vaguely like that is that typical litRPG thing were the protagonists ends up in a different world, gets a bunch of cheats, and tries to clear a dungeon (err, tower). It's all 100% cliché, except it's yuri instead of het. I found it a bit too stereotypical, although it has its fun moments.
Crimson Eye Principality is about some vampire from our world ending up in a fantasy world (it's a really odd plot set-up); features a (fairly) evil protagonist, loli-rape, and some other "fun" things. If you want a harem that's not romantic but more like ... slaves, there you go. No new chapters in a while, though.
Adventure Time of the cross-dressing Lady I found was a decent compromise between brainless girl-collecting and serious monogamy, insofar as that's possible. Over-stretches the whole "as a noble you can have a bunch of mistresses as long as you don't produce any illegitimate children, who cares" coupled with "they're just young girls fooling around, they'll settle down once they marry" a bit, but disbelief can be suspended sufficiently. It's kinda ... fantasy nobility slice-of-life or something. Really slow-paced, but enjoyable enough. Also hasn't updated in a while, unfortunately.
>>2295488
>most translated "yuri" works are about guys reincarnated as girls
>>2294245
In this one the protagonist was originally girl and was reincarnated as a girl. Don't know about the yuri level, but I've seen it posted on a yuri blog.
There's also that one Asterisk spinoff with a spunky redhead with mecha bunny ears, but don't know how yuri that one is either. I think just subtext.
>>2295488
>I wish the author the best.
I'll read anything Nayo puts up on Kindle Unlimited and am looking forward to part 2 of 雀姫達の宴 in a few days. It's like a Saki LN except the 2 main characters explicitly get up to lewd things between matches.
>>2295510

(double-check for the content warning at the top of the novels. If they warn about shocking girl's love content - good. If not, forget about it)
The challenge is finding something good.
>>2295537
Thanks. Here's hoping one of them makes it big.
>>2295548
I remember there was some yuri novel on syoseteu that got published. Forgot the title but there was a succubus or demon girl in it and it had a "shocking content warning" on syosetsu. But I remember seeing one low review for the print version on Amazon that basically criticized it for being basically 100% talking and noting interesting
>>2295548
Most frankly just aren't all that great. There's a bunch of more elaborate ones but that usually means less yuri content or the classic "oh, so this is about lesbians? So obviously everyone suffers and dies" syndrome. And then of course many are unfinished or whatever.
So at first glance there's quite a bunch there but once you start digging through them there in my opinion isn't all that much worth reading, unfortunately. Or maybe I sucked at picking the right ones, who knows.
Been wondering, is the yuri erotica like what KTC publishes still classified as "light novel"?
>>2297721
You'll find them in the LN section of Amazon.
少女妄想中 is pretty good.Pretty clear that the aunt is Seri. I like stories about the loser of a love triangle later finding love, so that's nice. The dream world was implied to be her's, so I suppose she was Shirone, though I feel like I need to read it through again to see how much support there is for that.
>>2303313
any raw, onee-sama?
>>2303316

>>2303321
Thanks anon. You're one of the good ones. It's really too bad that there are people here who will continue their shitty pirating habits in spite of the fact that yuri is a small niche market where every sale makes a difference.
>>2303439
Just wish there was a way we could help the odds of a publisher like Seven Seas to pick one up. But like I've said a million times it looks like I'm most cases anything that hasn't had an anime adaption is out of the question.

Yuna's character could easily be described as a Mary Sue. It would have been interesting if the author had explored the inbalance in the economy that Yuna brings and the resentment others feel towards her for basically having a monopoly on the monsters, but it seems they had no plan for this.
It seems the author themself admits that the short experts they write are written without much foresight which seem to come from submitting a chapter daily.

Setting aside the fact "writing that isn't terrible" is a really low bar and I am wholly unqualified to judge it, I'll suggest あまいゆびさき.
I was a bit bored lately so I checked what's new on Syosetsu, which lead me to 私だけのモノ (Only Mine or somesuch).
Lesbian high school girl falls in love with straight high school girl. So, she abducts her, locks her up in her basement, does a bit of casual mutilation, and then gets her hooked on cannibalism. Of course, a few chapters later their love is mutual.
I like this type of inspiring read.
New 2D Dream Bunko yuri LN out next month. I thought the last couple Araoshi Yuu LNs were excellent, so I'm looking forward to this one.

do they only eat woman bodies?
is this a very exaggerated spin on eating pussies

The story I saw people talking about recently was 百合いもむし.
Exactly what you would expect from a story that started as a NicoMaki fanfic.

No, they also eat men. It's not so detailed as to describe which particular parts they like to eat, though.

Gave it a try. Disabilities in stories can be interesting, but this seems rather ... I don't even know how to describe it. Wannabe-edgy?
Kinda hoped some of my older favorites got some new chapters, but, alas, abandonment everywhere. Maybe I'll give 太陽の姫と黄金の魔女 another try, that's at least still updating - it's about some Byzantine princess in a parallel-world that's vaguely similar to ours but "simplified". And she gets random items from modern Japan which help her defeat the enemies of (pseudo-)Byzantium. Not much FF though, as far as I got, except for some romance with her sister.
