The initial setup of the show wasn't bad. The setting of a women's prison where violence, bullying, rape and lesbianism run rampant was fun in a trashy, exploitation movie kind of way. The concept of our heroes being inmates who are forced to fight monsters for the sake of the elite was good. If they had just stuck with that and had Ange's brother be the main bad guy, it could have actually been a good show.
But they just had to do the Shyamalanesque twist of dragons being people and then go to a goddamn alternate Earth and then Embryo was the icing on the shit cake. Just what the fuck was everything. Also, Tusk is literally the worst male love interest ever. Never mind the fact that this is /u/ so his existence obviously goes against our interests, the whole "I get my face on your crotch by accident every time we meet" thing is just the most obnoxious gimmick ever.

No, I don't. But part of what's behind what I'm saying is that a show that's 8/10 for attention and 6/10 for quality is a prime candidate for hearing about as a "trainwreck" while the 4/10 for quality shows are usually 1/10 for attention and that's probably their various niche audiences anyway.

Ange just one big piece of garbage

Cross Ange was the biggest let down of my life. I was so excited about the ridiculous premise it had; It was like Game of Thrones meets Orange is the New Black meets Kill la Kill meets Gurren Laggan. The WTF factor alone was enough to keep me interested. I had such high hopes for this show....

Ange was even a great character at first, I really loved the kind of person she became after her transformation from useless princess to stone cold badass. She was really independent. A self-made millionaire and she didn't give a fuck about what anyone thought of her. Then....they gave her a really, really lame boyfriend.

I liked him at first, too. I thought he was there to subvert the trope of Knight in Shining armor because of how incapable and dense he was, but then they started making him do shit and that ruined fucking everything. By the time they gave us a kiss scene with Ange and Hilda, I was still ready to drop the show. The bait wasn't even good enough for me to keep up with it.

By the end of the series, Ange didn't even live up to the kind of character she was made out to be. She pretty much gets saved by her useless boyfriend. Nothing makes sense after Ep 4 and it just gets worse farther along.

It's a piece of fucking shit and you should drop it before it breaks your heart like it did mine.

The thing I loved about Tusk the most though was that SHE CHOSE HIM. It's less about him as a character, and more about the fact that he represents her acting out her own sexual agency. Even at the end when she decided she likes both men and women he doesn't say shit. He respects her and I love that.
