Anon, does yuri have something like in yaoi equivalent of bara aka depicting "manly man relationships" but in case of yuri depicting relationships of very feminine girls?I know in west world this type of lesbians are called "lipstick lesbians"

Josei I guess. But that's more a sub-genre of manga. I think bian or something similar might be the closest.
Yeah, it's calledYuri.
>>2149105
But some yuri have a tomboy characters. OP, asking about depicting relationships between "very feminine women".
>>2149101
>manly man
Aren't they generally just fat and hairy?
>>2149117
> generally just fat
Nope never, they always have a too much muscles, so they look very brutaly.
>hairy
Sometimes, but not always.

Wasn't the origin of the term "yuri" a response to "bara" in the first place?
From what i know, since gay themed manga were called barazoku they invented the term yurizoku for lesbian themed ones
So i guess in that sense yuri is the equivalent of bara?
If anything, josei/bian are more likely to feature butch girls rather than super feminine ones

>From what i know, since gay themed manga were called barazoku they invented the term yurizoku for lesbian themed ones
There was a magazine aimed at gay men called Barazoku, and it used "yurizoku" to refer to its female readers. So yurizoku became associated with lesbians, A 1983 porn film called Sailor-fuku Yurizoku helped spread the term,

Most yuri is this.
>>2149158
That's not true. Most yuri has one of the girls be a short-haired tomboy or something like that.
>>2149759
No? How limited is your experience?
>>2149759
>Most yuri has one of the girls be a short-haired tomboy
lol no.
>>2149101
It's called yuri. Ain't no special name for it and frankly we should just smother this thread in the cradle before it drifts into some weird /lgbt/ shit.
I think the best equivalent would be gyaru x gyaru for yuri. Though that combination is extremely rare, best I can think of is maybe some couples in Virgins Empire.

> gyaru x gyaru for yuri
This. Can you give me some related manga beside Virgins Empire.
Please tell me about all these tomboys in yuri. It's the opposite: Most yuri is nothing but girly girls. Just because they have a bob haircut doesn't make them as tomboy.
Also, I thought bara was mainly just m/m manga made for gay men. It just so happen these gay men like big burly hot guys. Plenty of yaoi manga have masculine guys but the works are aimed at women. The yuri equivalent of bara would be yuri manga aimed at lesbians instead of straight high schoolers like the norm. Some exist, such as most yuri manga focusing on adults.

Yuri main demographic was always women, though. The only ones really appealing to men are the subtext ones.
Most men don't even care about romance.
>>2154291
Like I said, they're aimed at straight woman instead of lesbians.
Christ this thread is terrible. Why isn't it deleted?
>>2154293
They're not aimed at straight women, they're aimed at women. And I believe most of them as lesbian or bi. That's what makes sense.
What makes you think lesbians wouldn't like yuri?
>>2154299
Lesbians do like yuri. But it just seemed obvious that most yuri media wasn't aimed at a lesbian or bi audience.

>But it just seemed obvious that most yuri media wasn't aimed at a lesbian or bi audience.
Because it is. Yuri was/is originally a niche hentai genre.
>>2154291
>The only ones really appealing to men are the subtext ones.
>Most men don't even care about romance.
This is pretty dumb bullshit.
>>2154291
>Most men don't even care about romance.
Most men don't seek out and actively enjoy yuri either.
>The only ones really appealing to men are the subtext ones.
This is just dumb.
